Burke Missed Injury Fraud?
- While Ald. Edward M. Burke ran City Hall’s program to compensate injured workers, there was little, if any, effort to “detect potential fraud, waste and abuse,” according to an audit issued Friday — months after Burke lost control of the program following his arrest for attempted extortion in an unrelated case.
For decades, Burke has overseen the $100 million-a year workers’ compensation program, refusing to allow city agencies to monitor the expenses, and even hiring private law firms to fight Inspector General Joseph Ferguson’s efforts to examine the system, in which some city workers have been receiving disability payments for years.
Wasn't there an "open source" site that tracked political donations? Wouldn't it be interesting, informative and maybe Pulitzer Prize winning to look into the names that might appear on both workman comp claims AND contributors to certain aldercreatures?
Kind of like how the law firms that sue Chicago in all forms (police, fire, streets, etc) all limit-out on contributions to certain politicians or their pet projects.

lol..wasn't missed....part of patronage, influence game
Yeah, let's do talk about the city compensating injured workers. And let's start with Densey Cole being put out of his home when his promised compensation lagged and lagged and lagged.
My worthless pothead son in law worked for streets and san. always was getting "hurt and injured on the job" every claim was total bullshit. He collected lotta money. What a shit hole city. So Happy I left 23 years ago. I am now 75 and I don't return to see my family.
There is no fraud. All the City Employees are selfless and dedicated to serving the people of Chicago. Why would you think otherwise?
Gotta love it retire with Injury on duty tax free pensions then work other jobs become professors the Calumet College scam is the best!
The odds of this being a $110M taxpayer funded slush fund likely near 100%.
Scc the site you're thinking of is:

“Wouldn't it be interesting, informative and maybe Pulitzer Prize winning to look into the names that might appear on both workman comp claims AND contributors to certain aldercreatures?“
And wouldn’t it be interesting if all those people had to pay the City/Insurance Underwriter back after all those years of accepting fraudulent claims?
It would be like the old Match Game on TV.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
i wouldn't trust furguson either but hiring taxpayer funded private law firms to block any scrutiny sends up a very big red flag.
that fucking gangster has been allowed to operate for decades openly and notoriously.
add micro manager mayors fredo and the rhamfather. what a trio.
nice big fat political war chests you got there boys.
if you didn't know anything you had it be in on it.
hey rham, you got your mini stroke planned yet? don't forget.
Riccio is cut from the same cloth! Will he ask mayor Lightfoot as he has asked others? "Why do you care the outcome, we'll be long gone before they figure it out, and it will not be our problem!"
(OT) finally getting tired of the race card lie:
White FDNY lieutenant sues department over racial discrimination after being barred from Vulcan Society memorial

C’mon folks! Is there a SINGLE department or program in the city of Chicago (or the state of Illinois, for that matter) that ISN’T used for patronage and corruption? It would only seem logical that disability payments would be used to pay off political operatives or as a way to generate kick-backs for the bosses.
If only the taxpayers of Chicago could get an itemized summary of how much of their property tax, sales tax and income tax - not to mention license tags, parking stickers, etc - goes to fund corruption. That might be enough to get them to stop shrugging their shoulders and DO SOMETHING about it. Like electing some people who aren’t career politicians (in Illinois, anyone who has been elected once is probably owned by somebody) or maybe just marching down to City Hall and erecting a guillotine.... or would that be too French?
No kidding? Really? Shocking to say the least. Just Kidding. Not shocked at all.

Guess what aldermen and CPD officials-both current and former -have their fingers in the workers comp pies?
All of those copper’s that are off the job with the phony injuries on duty, Many have other jobs but yet they cannot do their job it is ridiculous the new mayor is going to have to have all of his people come in and be thoroughly checked in if they are caught by the investigators which are out there now, Doing any type of job or any type of bullshit they should be forced to come in, have our city lawyers ready for Pension Board lawyers ready make them pay back every penny they got, make them come back to work also consider charging them criminally for this ripping off the pension fund. So many could come back and at least work in an office doing something or doing station security in the parking lots!
If Burke ran it, then it was crooked. That POS denied me an injury (IOD) a couple times over the years. But that's okay, I used the medical, and got to choose my own doctor. And I have to give out a shout out to combined insurance who covers for sick days, and a trip to the emergency room. (while on duty) So it worked out for me. (double Indemnity) I hope Burke lives a long time. So he can serve it in prison.
His wife was the lawyer for some of those who hot BS disability pensions and settlements and
Burkke goin down, Madigan & Daley next. New Sheriff, Trump in town. Business as usual is over, boys. Get ready for your orange jumpsuits. Good News is, you won't be alone. You Democlowns should have not pissed off the boss man. Now your ass is grass. You all should have known better.

I second that. The ones gaming the system should be ashamed of themselves. We should do everything we can for the truly disabled including weeding out the fakers.
Kind of like Crimesha Foxx getting contributions from lawyers who sue the police, drop the case and let the same lawyers cash in. It’s criminal
Start with the police medical roles - start following these fake ass I hurt my thumb and can’t come back to work for 9 months - very abused
Clue: start with 2,3,4,5,6,7 in that order! Top 20 in each district with 1500 days or more off on bs! Fire them!
im retired from the city. had one 500 lb wanna be godfather that worked a no show 7-12 job from november to march every year and then immediately went on D D for the entire summer with a sore back. did it for over 20 years i was there. bragged about spreading a lot of money around finance thru his lawyer. it was great for morale for the poor slobs that had to work outside all year in the cold then the heat. disability is a huge scam. and like everything else with the city, the unconnected that get hurt get fucked. connected kick back guys get a blank check. there arent enough prisons for the cook county cartel.
Are they gonna investigate Catherine Mullen Hennessey, the attorney at Streets & San who handled workers comp, who has a husband was an outside attorney, who handled workers comp and sued the City.
Are they going to investigate the crap that happened at the Illinois workers compensation commission with capuzi? Never will happen. He was bff with burke and Rahm. The sitting general counsel needs to be looked at too. But the fbi has allowed the machine to do anything particularly Rahm and nothing will ever happen.
