Weather to Save Lori's 1st Weekend
Don't believe the hype about 1,200 officers and various social services, "revrunds" and a city services "blitz" tamping down the violence. This weekend's MVPs are going to be Tommy Skilling and Mother Nature:
- Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Thursday she’s “flooding the zone” — with 1,200 additional police officers, dozens of religious leaders and more than 100 youth programs — to prevent Memorial Day weekend from turning violent.
“I want our kids to be safe in every community. That’s what success looks like. I know that we’ve got a way to go on that journey. But, I want to make sure we start the building blocks aggressively this weekend,” Lightfoot said.
“We’re flooding the zone. We know the areas in the city where we believe there are challenges. And we’re gonna make sure that we are physically present. That we are engaging with people in those neighborhoods. And that we’re bringing resources into those areas in particular where we have concerns about any kind of conflict.”
We haven't done an over/under in quite a while, but if we were degenerate gamblers, we'd say under thirty wounded this weekend and no more than nine fatalities. That covers from 1700 hours Friday until 2359 hours Monday.

In order to solve a structural problem we need structural solutions.

But this is all just hype, just what you would expect from a new mayor. What is she doing differently? She's saying there will be a massive amount of bodies on the street and talking about safety for the kids. Typical politician talk that's been said before. She's a progressive all into restorative justice and righting the perceived inequalities. Act tough, but will she be speaking out against Foxx and the judges that won't charge or give ridiculous deals to offenders? Example, the trans (man dressed as woman) that kicked a 79 year old woman in the face in an unprovoked attack on the CTA, all it got was probation. How far will she back officers when things go sour? With all due respect: we've poured billions putting these ferals ahead of deserving real honor students, they've been fed on our dime because they are of one color. They don't care about education (relatives were teachers in the CPS - all the feral kids wanted left behind to f everyone around), their baby momma's just spit out another to get more frees from everyone else, whilst she's gang banging another gang banger for another financial reward. Gee the good old days when Gage Park, Pill Hill, Englewood, Hyde Park, and so many other neighborhoods were reasonably safe, well kept places? You could even venture into Roseland at one time. All middle to lower class poor, but decent people where anyone from the suburbs could innocently venture into and not worry. I've heard of people enjoying Rainbow beach, Jackson Park and other areas without fear.
A few years ago, decidedly, smugly and arrogantly they ventured to picnic the Gold Coast (GC) park behind the History Museum. They can't use their own neighborhoods, so they came with attitudes to "I dare you to stop us." They didn't have permits. Guess what? That park is where the entire GC pooches water and fertilize that lawn. Because of their attitudes, no one bothered to tell them they were sitting on a dog's outdoor litter box. No one bothered to ring PO's about it.
These are the same types who visit the annual GC block party and spit gum all over the place, give everyone intimidating looks, and push against all the big tax payers. Why call them big tax payers you ask? Tax on GC house with postage size land: $89k. Tax on double the sized Hyde Park house with about 1/2 acre land: $20k. Let's not even look at the tax in their neighborhoods. The GC lived with pot holes for many many years. Neighbors paid for Goudy park renovations, God forbid the city actually do it. The city spends our money on ferals and not taxpayers. The ferals come in and trash everything, beat up innocents, and gang tag anything that doesn't move.

I'm not the original poster but I believe him. I was on OTJ for a star and 02 bars. At the end I saw P.O.s display and point a firearm at a shithead and the head either ignored it or started the "shoot me " Bullshit.
I notice now that I'm a PFC (private F**kn citizen), if I do have contact with the animal and give them the stink eye back,they keep going. You are dealing with what nature calls an ambush predator,they know OTJ has very thin parameters on deadly force, some civilian who will lock eyes with them and looks like they won't melt causes their instinct to look for easier prey most of the time.
