- So while at today’s 0700 start at the academy for PJ2, everyone arrives on time except for Captain Karen Murphy of the Integrity Unit. Gets there an hour after it started, and sat, phone in hand for the better of 75% of the class. We get an hour for lunch, she takes 1.5 hours. This is someone slated to attend, from the INTEGRITY UNIT, and she’s too important to be bothered to listen or offer any opinions during class unlike the rest of the 28 or so attendees. I should know better by now to think that the “entitled” needn’t follow the rules but c’mon!!!

Poor Ed was let go and the investigation continued as it was a felony to travel that fast and elude law enforcement.

Who cares about a contract right? Also instituted like 30% of the cars as beat integrity only, must be replaced if they get their allowed lunch, except every other car is zone integrity only and can’t be sent outside their zone.
Essentially Tony is running an experiment in his head with the cars in the district.

Lightfoot is going to need to cultivate a better relationship with Chicago cops if she's going to solve a crime problem that is particularly gut-wrenching for the South and West side neighborhoods whose welfare she's most concerned with improving. And she's going to have to stop publicly scapegoating them when tactics like Memorial Day weekend's "flooding the zone" don't pay immediate dividends.

Speaking of stellar displays of leadership...
Yesterday the U.S. Attorney for Northern Indiana announced the indictments of and essentially the dismantling of the Latin Dragons Gang operating in the south east side of Chicago and surrounding areas. It was revealed that the investigation was initiated after the murder of a 10 year old little girl and a 50 year old pizza delivery man on the south east side of Chicago. It was also revealed that the investigation will clear via prosecution 11 open murders ( 8 or 9 are Chicago cases I believe) and involved both federal and local agencies (including CPD). Finally, it was revealed that all those involved will be held in custody during the pendency of their cases.
Present at the news conference were representatives of ATF, FBI, Cook County Sheriff Police and Hammond Indiana Police.
IIRC the mayor has expressed concern about street violence and said we need to do more with our federal partners to combat it. Special Ed continually says we need more gun laws to address the violence. Google-me-Elmo put out a press release the other day regarding gun offenders not being held in custody during their cases.
A positive news conference regarding a successful investigation that will definitely impact the level of violence in the areas involved and addresses topics covered by the mayor and special Ed yet CPD can't find a representative to attend.
What was CPD's summer inative news conference about...a copette talking about the deployment of cameras along Lakeshore Drive during summer events.
Forget the 2% haircut for the department...how about getting rid of Robin Robinson and Google-me-Elmo instead because someone sure was asleep at the wheel on this one. Hell there's a $250,000 savings and it only impacts 2 people instead of everyone.
Before anyone brings it up...yes the city/department was invited/notified of the press conference.

I recently took this class. I had a Male Lt in my class. He's been ripped on this blog before. Unlike Cpt Murphy, this guy was stand up. He recognized the idiocy of this class and pointed out its fatal flaws. Unlike Murphy he was engaged, knowledgeable, and supportive of the officers. He was a productive thorn in the side of this silly class. I'm not going put his name here. I don't want him to get get in trouble. But, if he reads this, he should know that his actions did not go unnoticed. That is what a leader should do. I would happily work for him, if our paths crossed again.

Off Topic: Just so all the young officer's are aware. Area South Sat Unit 212 is not the place you want to be going. Unless you want to work 6pm-4am with the pressure of bringing in CB #'s . Then go to court at 9am and do the whole thing over. If you are looking for a day off then you have to put it in way in advance because only 4 officers are allowed off in the whole unit per day. 15% nope not for Lt. E.S. who has never been denied a day off in his " blessed double merit" career. Now I know that over 100 of you have filled out NOJO's to go there ....LOL JK OMG... BUT you may want to rethink it. I almost forgot if you want overtime you have to work midnights ... some debate on who's dumb idea that was... . Congrats to the brass their you have successfully made it so that being back in the district is better than being in that unit. Thank god I got promoted out of there or I would just ride around in the box......

promotions in the CPD were never about knowledge or competence except for a very few who really bother to study for exams. The rest of them, that is mostly merits and the exempt ranks has always been and most likely always will be about cronyism, nepotism and flat out patronage. Occasionally the two concepts do meet up, but rarely . That is why most cops do not respect their leaders. It is all about identity politics. We must have black leaders, Hispanic leaders, female leaders, now gay and most likely transgender in the future. Those the the primary criteria .Why can't a non-hispanic command a police district that is primarily hispanic and vice-versa? The same goes for a black area. That alone is telling. I was told the community would not accept such assignments. Now, if that is true, who is the racist?

Sounds like the Cook County Sheriff's office. Dart is literally trying to fire deputies who "falsified" time sheets some showing up/ 15 minutes late for their shift. However, his exempts leave an hour early from annually training and take 2 hr lunches all the time. The best example is when Dart's exempts drive county issued car from 31st to hog wild in Midlothian for lunch. One Deputy from 26th street they are moving to fire show up late one day 11 minutes and another 14 minutes over a three year period they had their "sting" watching him. The Sheriff is looking for people to fire to find funding for his Merit Board fiasco.

That leadership class in Boston must have been a course on how to become an even bigger asshole, piece of shit thief then he already was. You cops and supervisors have only yourselves to blame by continuing to bring in numbers and by listening to him.
He was caught stealing department resources and the Department wouldn't fire or demote him. If any of the CAPS officers had any brains or balls they would contact a lawyer and sue Escamerit and the city since they were subject to a test study without their knowledge. But if they had either brains or balls they wouldn't be in CAPS to begin with, when that fucking retard Escamerit is their supervisor.
Take lunches whenever you feel like it. What will he do? Put you in a Concentration Camp? They write one car up for doing it they will have to write every car up that takes lunch that isn't in this idiot Commander's dedicated time frame. That will put a clog in the system real fast.

Sounds like several violations, but the two most egregious are bringing discredit to the Department and placing the Indiana Officers/ Troopers in danger, as well as others on the road. At the end of the day she shows up at HQ for check off wearing flip-flops with her uniform, complaining about how much her feet hurt after riding her fat ass around on the back of a golf cart all day while these poor slobs stood in the hot sun for ten hours. Ice raids will begin this weekend and Mayor Lightfoot said our department will not cooperate with Ice. Ms. Mayor let me tell you this. Myself and many members of this department WILL assist and backup ICE when and if needed in our districts. We took an OATH to UPHOLD the LAW on the local, state and federal level AND NOT TO CHOSE WHICH LAWS TO UPHOLD or to SERVE A POLITICAL AGENDA. Like it or not we still uphold federal laws in spite of sanctuary law, its a law. Ice Agents being Law Enforcement officials will receive back up and help if needed on the street and I for sure will assist. If any Chicago Police Officer finds that that the city takes any punishment (CR,SPAR OR SUSPENSION) against any of its officers for helping Ice post it on the blog and contact the union so we can file a FEDERAL LAWSUIT, if the union does not do it we will do it on our own and we will also file a class action suit against our union. This looks more like a promotion by Lightfoot's public relations team. He was probably asked to say what he did say. What a way to get her name out there in front of thousands. And with a crowd like that they would cheer anything some rock star would say. And Ms. Lori, "thanks for the shoutout" , sounds like a high schooler. Was all orchestrated to give her some free publicity and Burke some bad publicity.

Did you hear Commander Wodnicki lead the Indiana State Police on a five mile chase doing 114mph to only stop because the spikes were layed out. His response to the State Trooper was he was going to an emergency that didn't exist. Staples was called from the scene and reluctantly got a CR number. All in his company car.
Poor Ed was let go and the investigation continued as it was a felony to travel that fast and elude law enforcement.
Don't worry. Calls were made to Troopers and they are no longer pursuing this. IAD called in to cover it up.

Just killed someone in a traffic related incident, so why on earth would a Commander driving 115mph? Three A/C supervisors received CR#’s in the past month. Theres only one Lt spot per watch that must be filled by seniority bid. The other is management. If a vacancy arises in the bid spot, it gets posted. The procedure is all outlined in the Lt contract.
