- Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is enjoying a late summer vacation with her family in Maine. Normally that wouldn’t be newsworthy, except for the fact the mayor previously ordered police brass to cancel summer travel plans, and blasted the department’s No. 2 in command for failing to do so.
In June, Mayor Lightfoot called it “incredibly disappointing” when she learned Chicago Police First Deputy Supt. Anthony Riccio had failed to follow her directive to command staff to cancel travel plans and remain in Chicago to combat a surge in summer violence. “The exempts have to set the example. And the example of doing something the mayor has directed them not to do is highly problematic,” Lightfoot said in June.
Lightfoot’s weeklong vacation comes as violence — often fueled by warm weather and school vacations — continues to plague the city. This past weekend, three people were murdered and 22 people were injured in shootings. Before she left town, Lightfoot spoke about her desire for people to know she’s on the job and concerned about crime.
But not so concerned as to stick around and actually attempt to do something about it. No, that's for peons like Riccio (Riccio Riccio Riccio) and Supernintendo "How High Mayor Groot?" Special Ed Johnson.

The City claims that 37 million tourists visited Chicago last year. So why isn't she setting the example by vacationing right here. There must be something to see here if 37 million came! And if she wants to get out into the country areas, how about, visit Illinois. I’am sure if she called our Governor, JB the Hut, he could introduce her to some fine dining all over the State.
But alas, she and JB are members of the Democrat Socialists Elite and they don’t vacation or party at the voter’s feed trough. They tour the globe.

Why is it that the teachers can get a contract while only paying only 2% into their pension but collection the same pension police and fire get? This is a problem. Why do I have to pay 9% into the pension to get 75% for 29 and a day when teachers pay 2% into their pension and get 75%?
Consent decree mentions Officers wellness, does that mean force them to work when they have plans for their day off, or does it mean to deny personal days off. I’m confused.

Speaking of the Mayor. Please have the membership along with family members take the cities budget survey on the City of Chicago website. It asks what services you’d like to see decreased or increased like Police and “homeless services”. The survey gives a 1000 budget to fund or not fund several services such as police and fire. I chose not to fund social services at all! Take the survey and let the midget know what the tax paying citizens want.

Hey Madam Mayor you seem to be spending more time on both coasts than you do here. Think about running for public office on one of them so you could be closer to your work. It was my understanding that teaches had to work 40 years to max out their pensions. They must have changed that since some of my relatives retired years ago.

No, that is not correct. Before you are hired you negotiate the terms of your employment. When I left CPD I went to the corporate world. I went through the entire hiring process ( four interviews with four different people ) written tests and a drug screen. Then when it came to actually accepting the job, they gave the first offer and I counter offered and that included vacation time and other time off. I got three weeks during the 1st year of employment. Things are different in corporations.

Well, you enjoy your mayor. Since it's your choice. She is more foolish than the previous mayors. She will community organize at the expense of taxpayers and you'll watch as they leave and wonder what just happened. But, this is the trend in this on the road to be partitioned country.

I am retired but still belong to the FOP, and always will. The FOP isn’t the problem, it’s the leadership. Field better candidates for top leadership posts. The FOP has never has the balls of the NYPD PBA. And with just about every democratic presidential contender pissing on law enforcement, we need a more aggressive approach than Graham and Co. have displayed.
