Shots Fired by the Police (UPDATE)
Misses all around (correction!):
- Chicago police officers witnessed two men shooting into a crowd near a South Side hospital early Sunday morning, according to police. The officers drew their service weapons and shot at the men, police said.
No one was hit by a bullet in either shooting, according to a news release from the Police Department.
It started about 2:30 a.m. outside St. Bernard Hospital in in the Englewood neighborhood, police said. The officers saw two gunmen firing at a group standing in the 200 block of West 63rd Street, officials said. “The officers discharged their weapons at the offenders without striking them,” an online media notification stated.
The two gunmen took off running toward the 6400 block of South Yale Avenue, under the highway where the Dan Ryan Expressway and the Chicago Skyway split, police said. The men got into a black SUV and were able to elude officers.
Comments about range work will be deleted as usual. We post so everyone else is aware, not so all the internet snipers can tell everyone how they would have picked off the gunmen with head shots at fifty yards with not a care about what the backstop was.
UPDATE: Someone turned up at the hospital hours later carrying lead. Detectives were able to conduct interviews and verify the cops hit one. Excellent job all around.

The 007th job did have HITS; POs hit the offender who sought treatment for a GSW to the upper left collarbone area. The offender was pushed out of the getaway car at Mercy Hospital and transferred To Stroger where great detective work was able to get him identified as one of 3 offenders and one of 2 offenders who tossed shots at uniformed CPD.. stay safe officers
One showed up at Mercy hospital shot and the investigation determined that he is one of the offenders.
Nice shot, officer. Sometimes we win......
What the hell? Shot AT the police?
Skate to where the puck has been
I see things at St. BarnYard haven't changed much.

Ground rules....head shots @50 Yards...
Thank you for posting, mostly in tribute to Dayton police who
took down body armored shooter within 30 seconds of the
start of shooting. They were trained for close encounter
conflicts in an entertainment district routinely filled with
inebriated patrons. They had to make split-second decisions
about the body proportions of the shooter and if he used
armor like the El Paso Walmart shooter about 12 hours
earlier. Fortunately they neutralized the shooter before he
could have entered the interior of Ned Peppers bar, where
the carnage would have been exponentially higher.
Can someone in the hierarchy of this city explain WHY these mass shootings aren't reported on FOX, ABC, NBC, CNN, CBS, CLTV and all the other stations that spend hours on the other mass shootings? Is it because it's Chicago? Is it because the hierarchy want to cover it up? What's the real reason??
Can someone remind me why lasers are forbidden.
Yikes! It’s no fun getting shot at!
Thank God all is safe.
You guys can't hit the side of a barn. More range time is needed. I would have been able to hit all offenders with only a few rounds and I am not even a trained LEO. You guys suck.

Well congratulations, Race. At age 26 you made the
U.S. Olympic team, but you live in the basement
because bronze ain't worth shit and you can't rent
an apartment with it. I bet your're still on parents'
medical insurance under Obama Care rules.
Memo to Race: that sword shit went away 200 years

Or they missed his chest and hit him in the arms or legs. The vest only protects a small part of the body

Look what's masquerading as reporters for these outlets. It's not news it's entertainment. No hard questions, no hard follow up questions. Chicago news is worthless, inaccurate, incomplete and protective of the MACHINE, the Murder Mayor and the morally bankrupt City Hall. They follow like sheep and do what their POLITICAL MASTERS tell them to do. It's COVER UP AND CUDDLE UP news.
