Does anyone know what "standards" Special Ed uses to pick these morons?
- How about the commander of 007, RDR, coming into roll call to thanks the troops for a job well done. As soon as roll call is over there is a 10-1 in 008 and a car that was suppose to be on beat integrity goes out of the station lot after just getting in their car to assist officers in need. Just after a disregard is given they are heading to the beat and a person shot comes up in their beat. Commander shows up on scene and wants them sparred for not being on the beat at the time of the shooting. So apparently its more important to be on the beat in case Joe Blow gets shot then to go assist officers needing help. No wonder the morale in 007 is so shitty.
What a putz. Obviously, never an actual police officer.

How does being "on the beat" prevent a shooting? I used to live in beat 432, East Side. If the beat 432 car is at the 7-11 on 108th and Ewing like usual, how are they supposed to prevent a shooting at 110th and State Line?

Not since Joe Curtin was the Commander in the late 90's has an idiot served for such a long period of time. That's not an exaggeration either. He's such damaged goods that the Mayor doesn't even want to lateral him. She just doesn't have the clout to demote or fire him. Escamerit is the Exempt equivalent of the fat, smelly, bar whore that no one wants to take home at the end of the night.

After watching a BWC, The commander falsely accused one of his officers of using the “N-word” during an Aggravated Battery-PO incident. BWC conflicts with commander’s accusation. the BWC showed it was the offender calling the POs the “n-word”

So let me get this straight, teachers get offered 16% over 5 years and because they can strike, they vote down that offer and now are voting to strike. Police get offered 10.5% over 5 years, we have no real recourse, so our union leaders vote to accept it. What the fuck is wrong here. Because we can’t strike, we basically have no control over anything and have to just bend over and take whatever is given. Something is not right here. When a teacher is making the same as a policeman this world has gone mad.
I’ve recently come to realize what a horrible mistake I made devoting my life to being a cop. Especially for the city of Chicago.

Ask Commander, "When I worked Beat 715, NOBODY got shot!" how many f**ks he gives about the 007th District officers. What's morale? When people are bidding out to go to 011 and leaving tact for midnights, it should send a message. He has actively blocked officers and supervisors from going to units. He is a hot head and throws a temper tantrum EVERY TIME there is a shooting. He berates officers and Sgt's on crime scenes in front of the public, even yelled at an officer who was putting a tourniquet on a victim about beat integrity. He falsely accused a 3rd watch officer of racist behavior (came to roll call after he got an accusatory phone call and called the P.O. out in front of everyone). The only problem was that RR failed to watch the BWC video before he made the accusation. After the WOL located the video and saw that the officer acted professionally, WOL suggested that the Commander apologize. HA! Do you think that happened? Maybe his upcoming Leadership Training at Quantico will miraculously transform him into a competent and compassionate individual. We won't hold our collective breath. The sad thing is that this poor excuse for a supervisor will get his next bite of the merit apple and once again be promoted. He should have topped out as a patrolman. He may wear a lapel pin, but this guy is no leader.
Funny how that beat integrity thing works. Wasn't there a Plan in and about 20 cars on 71/Yale at the time of the second shooting a block down on 70/Yale? SCC, 007 recently had a few coppers retire who had put in 27 plus years OTJ, the entire time in the 007th District. RDR was "too busy" to conduct exit interviews with several of them. 30 years of service and your commander is too busy to take 5 minutes to sign a piece of paper, show some appreciation, and thank you for your service? A huge slap in the face. Speaks volumes about the character of this man.

Clown 🤡 shoes, BW, while DC in 015 did something similar with her troops in 15. There was a 10:1 just a few blocks on the other side of division in the 25th district, and she came over the radio and told all 15th District cars to stand fast and not go to the 10 one, obviously they did not listen to her. She also got an officer injured by telling her to go to domestic all alone and it officer, female, got her ass beat. Just based on these two incidents, this loser never should have been promoted at any point. Realistically she never should have been hired for this job, much like a lot of the losers that are the brass of CPD

I was a PPO in 006 on a traffic stop and just started writing a mover and a 10-1 came out in 004. We have the drivers DL back and took off to the 10-1, which got disregarded. I submitted to non suite the ticket. I got called in to the commanders office who was Doty at the time. I explained the situation and he he said he cannot non suite a mover and made me go to the drivers house in 004 and issue the ticket two days later. I told the driver not to worry about it and that I would take care of it in court , which I did. Still shaking my head when I think about it.
He is the poster child for Merit Promotion Syndrome. It is a severe psychological disorder where the promotee actually thinks he/she/it is smart enough and deserves the ptomotion.

That place fell apart when the 1 year merit Sgt JH left her school Sgt spot to take over the DEA task force team. Thought it was in good hands when the even newer merit Sgt D was transferred in to “run” the SDSC room. But that’s not on Rod Rob, that’s Eddie J. and Freddie W’s calls. This department has never been lower. Certain rules for certain peeps.
Don’t know if they still do it but years ago the HQ wanted to know the whereabouts of every Beat Car when there was a Shooting (of a feral community member) and printouts of the PCAD were sent to Area Chief. Essentially scrutinizing every Lunch, Personal, Traffic Stop, lengthy assignment/report, Assist and any other Off the Beat instance whenever nobody was there to prevent these community travesties.
Well low and behold, during one of those mandatory nonsense community street roll calls that pulls the few from Beats across the District to show up and stand around as props. Sure as shit a shooting occurs and most everyone is miles away because of this placating the politicians with a dog and pony show.
The DC had shit-fit because “everybody” was down and not immediately available to prevent and tend to some street justice retaliation.
Duly noted 21st Century pioneers.
Merit Appointment (social promotion) isn’t a measure of brains, common sense or having the ability for abstract thought.

This is a job with a paycheck nothing more. It always has been, we're not doctors or nurses. I've been happy with my 23 years so far, very little stress, plenty of time off, generous medical and insurance. I've paid the house off, kids went to school and going to college soon. I always tell people do what's expected and that's it, then concentrate on your life.
Working for the Sheriffs office, Sheriff Dart actually promoted a female to the position of Chief who was completely illiterate. She was a nice woman so not many overly objected. At roll call she would always have the Lt read assignments to the officers. They would tell everyone in private she was completely illiterate and they wrote all her letters and emails. She was rumored to be very politically connected-go figure. Just amazing that you have a hard time getting employment at a fast food chain if illiterate, but can get a significant position in Cook County government if you know the right people.
When a teacher is making the same as a policeman this world has gone mad.

RR is as pompous as they get. Was non existent as a Capt. In 007. Never knew and still doesn’t know names of officers. Say what you will about KJ but he was an actual leader, personable and liked. KJ was actually liked and respected. RR is hated by all including bosses. He’s the epitome of entitlement and he’s not afraid to flaunt it.

Exactly! What’s to stop the ungrateful teachers from asking for a 50% raise? They’ll just strike if they don’t get their way. The only way to stop the mob like teachers union is to fire anyone that walks off the job. Then offer the same deal to anyone that wants to come back to work and to any new aspiring teachers. Looks like things are going backwards and downhill. I am an old timer and long retired. I do recall when I was a young police officer you had to stay on your beat. Officers retired and the WC would not even come out of the office to say goodbye. Any retirement get together was put together informally by the guys. I saw officers retire and hand in their stars and ID cards to the desk sergeant and just walk out the door after decades of service;. My humble opinion is the city and the department administration never cared for or really thought about the hard working police officers. It was all about themselves. Crappy buildings ( it took a long time to get cir conditioning), crappy medical section and mental health counseling, crappy equipment, political appointees running things, piss poor reward system ( except for those gold stars with rows of ribbons), rigged disciplinary system, no backing by the superintendent, patronage and cronyism. I could go on and on. Nothing has changed and this federal oversight group will not change things for the better.

When I retire
When I retire, which is 6 months away with 29 1/2 yrs. I specifically do not want any POS any rank that was not invited there in the first place because if I do, I will personally call them out for what they are and even embarrass them publicly. Made a lot of friends on this job, all ranks. Yet, there are a lot of evil people on this job as well. God Bless....

There were/are LOADS of street level supervisors who
drank/drink deeply of the jag-off juice regarding officers
who "leave their beat" to respond to a 10-1.
"Tricky" in 011 was reknown for this b.s.
We still giggle recalling the time he flexed his
chevrons at a copper who was new to the district...
Tricky found out that "new" does not always translate
to a scared PPO who takes verbal abuse from a stupidvisor
because the PPO has it drilled in his/her head that no one
is going to help them.

Word has it the DSS and WOL will be taking assigned lunches too. Can't wait. Well,I have to wait 1/2 hour for the DSS to get back to approve my inventory and look over my arrest report. Whoops! now the WOL is on lunch, have to wait another 1/2 hour to get my arrest approved. Uh, oh, lockup is on their civilian 1 hour lunch, have to wait to get my prisoner processed. Can't wait for this to start !!!
As a Sgt I would obey that order and put it in the SPAR. I would give them a suspension. Then I would help them write their desire for a hearing and I would provide a witness report that I was ordered to ignore a cop needing help.

Used to be cops made almost nothing and had to make it up in graft.
You knew the rules when you took the job. You also knew the pay scale. If you don't like either you can go back to school and become a teacher. As college degrees go it is one of the easiest curriculums so it should not be real hard for you to get a degree that allows you to become a teacher.

007 let the chase go on until the victim/PO that was shot at went over the air and clarified that it was a paintball that was shot at them.
In light of the new information, The SGT in question then told 007 district officers to back off and let PH2 handle it.

I was a PPO in 006 on a traffic stop and just started writing a mover and a 10-1 came out in 004. We have the drivers DL back and took off to the 10-1, which got disregarded. I submitted to non suite the ticket. I got called in to the commanders office who was Doty at the time. I explained the situation and he he said he cannot non suite a mover and made me go to the drivers house in 004 and issue the ticket two days later. I told the driver not to worry about it and that I would take care of it in court , which I did. Still shaking my head when I think about it.

Doty was the single worst commander I ever came across with 29 yrs on this job. Did not care for his troops, always looking for someone to kiss his a#$, would back down when confronted by a supervisor who knew what they were doing and called him out on it.
You have a thankless job which the powers that be have seen fit to vilify you, and take the side of the criminal community over dedicated police officers. You have my thanks and prayers!!

So let me get this straight, teachers get offered 16% over 5 years and because they can strike, they vote down that offer and now are voting to strike. Police get offered 10.5% over 5 years, we have no real recourse, so our union leaders vote to accept it. What the fuck is wrong here. Because we can’t strike, we basically have no control over anything and have to just bend over and take whatever is given. Something is not right here. When a teacher is making the same as a policeman this world has gone mad.

SCC, 007 recently had a few coppers retire who had put in 27 plus years OTJ, the entire time in the 007th District. RDR was "too busy" to conduct exit interviews with several of them. 30 years of service and your commander is too busy to take 5 minutes to sign a piece of paper, show some appreciation, and thank you for your service? A huge slap in the face. Speaks volumes about the character of this man.
I didn’t find it necessary for an exit interview. It’s just a bs report. When I got a call for my exit interview told the commander to just put something down and sign my name That was it. I didn’t need any show of appreciation or anyone to thank me for my service. I knew what I did and that was enough

Tony is rapidly approaching his 4 year anniversary for being appointed to Commander of the political cesspool known as the 25th district. This is a job with a paycheck nothing more. It always has been, we're not doctors or nurses. I've been happy with my 23 years so far, very little stress, plenty of time off, generous medical and insurance. I've paid the house off, kids went to school and going to college soon. I always tell people do what's expected and that's it, then concentrate on your life.

When is someone going to pull an EEOC beef on RR? This is the second time this year that he has falsely accused an officer of racism without any proof. This time he included his merit hack Admin Sgt. And double merit hack Tact Lt. In on the fun. The bosses ganged up and tried to convince the officer that they had BWC evidence that was so overwhelming that he should just take their recommended 3 day spar, thus depriving the officer of his right to FOP representation when accused. These three geniuses and the officer’s own Sgt. told the officer that he should take the 3 days or else they could turn it into more. They were doing him a favor by not pulling a CR. The officer was adamant that he has never uttered a racial slur at any time, and demanded to see the video. After reviewing the video with all parties present, RR saw that the officer did NOT utter a racial slur. He actually apologized and then told everyone to keep this to themselves, they were going to keep it in the office. The following day word got around and other officers started asking if it was true that this officer was a racist.
Once again, RR acts based on emotion, damaging the reputation of an officer with baseless allegations. Even worse is that the Lt. and the officer’s own Sgt. did nothing to kill it before the officer was accused. Then they actually encouraged the officer to take the three days and admit to something he never did.
Saddest thing is if these officers who have been wrongfully accused by RR do file a complaint, they will be retaliated against, targeted and bricked by the soon to be again promoted RR and his cabal of inept gold stars.
Well SCC the shitshow continues! Angry Rod needs anger management. must have Logged on here this morning and saw red because I heard him rip the head off of some poor day watch sergeant for releasing the tact team prior to checkoff. Not sure why the day sgt was getting screamed at and not the tact sgt, but rod had a fit and kicked the desk. At least he didn’t hurl a radio at a wall in the station like he did the last time a bunch of people got shot. Maybe he needs to go to the academy for yoga training to chill out. If he screams at sergeants in front of us, I guess he will scream at anyone.
7:54pm, you have a point, however, I have been retired for 7 years after doing 30. doty was one of the worst commanders ever, right behind ronny watson (they do not get their names capitalized as a sign of my disrespect). sure they can do whatever they want, but once in a while a good Boss comes along and puts assholes like them in their place. Boy oh boy, 007 sure has changed over the years. 10-1 means officer needs help. Last time I checked the dispatcher requested that all available units on the zone respond, including citywide units. We don’t need another dead officer snowflake. Officer respond to your spar by stating that: The principles of Force Mitigation states that the presence of more officers could de-escalate a situation Or Use or Focus Incident.
When I worked in 009, I used to see Bob W. take out the garbage Eleanor Daley's trash on Lowe St. We would tease him about that at Locascio's (remember that joint?).
There are fixed posts in every district and shootings are still occurring near the fixed posts.

Many many years ago as a young PO in the 006th District, I unfortunately happened to be on the receiving end of a shotgun blast. A 10-1 went out, many units responded including two Tact Officers from 007, who found stupid hiding underneath a couch. Apparently this commander never worked the streets and dosen't understand what a 10-1 means.
Please, all of you, right this down. Put it on a piece of paper, and hang it up in your locker. It should be the last thing you read before heading down to headquarters to turn in your current star/photo id, and receiving your retired credentials, if you're fortunate to leave/retire in good standing. Here is the message: Nobody gives a flying fuck about what you're going to say or write down in your exit interview. Nothing is going to change because of it. Period. Keep the line moving.
