Not one piece of paper ,no notebooks, no homework , nothing in their hands resembling a BOOK but 4 blocks away, 1 block from the station we had a Mega Charter Schools where the students would all need Chiropractor gift certificates for graduation for all the BOOKS their carrying every day in their Back packs... Just luck I Guess that these kids had parents that RAISE their children and teach them to how to become Productive Adults when they grow up. Not the idiot gang bangers we had to babysit 5 days a week....Great job raising / teaching the children in the ghetto. You teachers,and Parents all Suck!

It is an incredibly hard job and they agree with most of what CTU is asking for. But they don’t necessarily agree with alll the things the union does, just like we don’t always agree with our union. As part of the "Reparations Won" curriculum, I allow our SRO's to come into my class for the full period to discuss what life is like for a Chicago Police officer. I allow them to answer student questions and engage the students about problems in the community. I think if we talk about Burge, it should be done in the context that he was an extreme example and not the norm. I get frustrated by what many police officers say on this site, knowing full well you have family members in the CTU. Not everyone hates you in the schools. The whining about teachers needs to stop. Police officers are valuable to the community just like teachers are valuable to the community. I have seen MANY teachers stand up to CTU leadership about their relationships with anti-police groups and it has worked...CTU is becoming more union-affiliated and less activism-affiliated. If you as police officers don't like to be painted into a corner, don't do it to other city workers.

Hey asshat, Laura Koroski, the police aren’t responsible for the almost 450 murders nor roughly 2,250 shootings of largely people of color in Chicago. People like her always grow up in communities of liberal affluence with their heads buried so deep inside their own pious asses that they don’t have a clue. There are decent people in those crime ridden communities, decent parents, decent kids but it’s a far more bigoted stance to tell the decent people that they have to live amongst criminals and tolerate not feeling safe in their own homes, their own schools and walking their own streets -in fact- look the other way, all the while as she retreats to her over-priced condo in a gentrified neighborhood, until she has children and retreats to the same liberal affluent suburbs for safety and better schools. That’s how they sustain their holier than thou attitudes generation after generation.

shes sooo stupid she thinks shes smart. i went to catholic school in the 50s with nuns and lay teachers who were barely paid. very few perks in the building and we were never shut down for weather. we never had discipline problems in grade or high school, the teachers wouldnt stand for it and a call to the parents was a death sentance. now we have enlightened idiots like this telling us how she thinks kids should be taught. everyone from my schools, everyone, went on to sucessful careers and families, no drugs, guns or baby mommas. im just a blue collar but have multiple houses and cars, no debt and very sucessful kids. the ctu is sending their students off a cliff and bragging while they do it. and another thing, ive been a member of a legitimate union for 50 years that does very well for its members, i know a thing or two about unions. the ctu is not a union, its just another good old communist front group that uses its idiot members to advance the cause of world communism, which interestingly enough most former communist countries want no part of. late to the party morons !
Why don’t you donate half of your salary and pension to these poor kids that have been harassed by the police. And if the commies ever accomplish their goals here, there will no longer be any use for the once useful idiots in education, and they will be among the first to be rounded up and sent to the gulags, or worse. You'd think todays teachers would have payed a little bit more attention in History classes when they were students, and would know the dangers of socialist/communist ideology. But then again, it was their ilk that foisted eight years of Jug-Ears on this country, so I guess they aren't that smart.
I'm curious why Laura Koroski doesn't live in Austin, especially with its proximity to liberal Oak Park.
Surely, she is afraid of crime-ridden Lake View and Lincoln Park, covered by CWB.
