Coming Soon?

  • The Civilian Complaint Review Board is so anti-cop that it is now accusing highly decorated officers of misconduct — even when no complaints are filed against them, police sources told The Post.

NYPD Lt. Richard Vetrano and Detective Thomas Woods were subjected to an administrative trial after a bystander at a traffic stop sent the CCRB video of a 2014 incident — in which even the couple involved repeatedly refused to file a complaint.

The CCRB still undertook a probe and ruled the stop improper, citing a lack of reasonable suspicion, the sources said.

“The result is two highly decorated cops — a detective and a lieutenant — were given charges by [the] CCRB,” a source said.

Another source said, “The fact that both occupants had no interest in making a complaint didn’t seem to deter them.”
We've already seen COPA opening up closed shootings, looking for something to hang coppers with (but never the shootings where certain exempt members clearly violated Use of Force directives). Now we're hearing they're going over body camera footage, hoping to find even a single violation to hammer cops - also without a complainant - making it a Disciplinary issue instead of a Training issue. Watch yourselves.

When are lieutenants and detectives gonna write a mover. If they were stopping the fuckers because they were wanted the fuckers should be in cuffs. No one should bother stopping anyone anymore unless they are getting locked up.

COPA and this department is a joke. How can COPA not even have to attend CPD's use of force class. Have no idea what the policy is, but make judgments that officers violated that policy. It should be mandatory for the democratic political arm of the liberals, at least have use of force training to make a judgment. I'm not a surgeon so I'm not really qualified to make a decision about what a surgeon might have done wrong during surgery. So how can civilians who never were the police nor even been trained in use of force make a decision that cops exercised excessive force?

Coming on this job, I enjoyed the tutelage of some extremely anti-establishment mentors. These guys had plenty of reasons to game the system and wouldn’t take shit from anyone if fucked with for no reason.

Now keep in mind that many of the old timers that trained me were from the era of having their CU wiped clean yearly and being subject to the whim and fancy of asshole supervisors that routinely changed their DOG as their weekends approached if they weren’t in the clique.

Enter the “4 for 1”.

Simply applied, it was taking 4 days back for every 1 the job took from you.

Medical. IOD. Sickness in family. Slip and fall. Diarrhea. Fever. Toothache. Crash the squad on purpose... whatever it took to get over for being fucked with without provocation. Your imagination was your only limitation.

Lotsa ways to beat them if they wanna play asshole games. Just gotta be real smart with how you make yourself whole.

Wasn’t it determined that COPA had no recognized legal authority to investigate coppers? I think it was something found in state law.

Also the city is violating the law by not deleting the bwc videos after 90 days
They are only to be kept beyond that if they are flagged or hold for evidentiary value.
The FOP needs to wake the fuck up! I know we put in a grievance but it’s hasn’t done nothing to better us. FOP needs to step there game up. Everyday they should have press releases and tell the city and the world how this city violates laws and our rights.

Times are tough over at COPA, they’re not seeing the number of heads coming through the office they expected.

Eventually the COPA is going to resort to using The Nigerian Prince scam methods to snag someone over the phone.
Like, I have this xxxxxx allegation in front of me and would like to get it closed out, I’ll need you to tell me about xxxxxx and what you know about xxxxxxx so this won’t proceed any further than here.

They’re nasty enough and will make stuff up, allowed to accuse anyone and leave the entire burden of proof on you to prove otherwise.
They will try to overload and bankrupt the FOP legal defense fund too.

Think first before jumping in and rushing to do anything.
Dept justification, supervisor consent, prerogative and admonishments don’t count anymore.
The COPA are going to have their hands in your pockets and there’s nothing the Merit filled Dept is going do about it.

OT but also in the same breath of fuck this department. Over the last few weeks I think we’ve received about 8+ emails about the IACP event and trying to encourage us to go. Now, I certainly don’t know anyone willing to waste a day off to do that nonsense, but it would be great if the turnout for CPD was minimal to none. It would be awesome to have other chiefs and officers see absolutely ZERO support from the hosting cities department.

Trump to speak to police chiefs group in Chicago Monday; CPD Supt. Johnson to boycott speech

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Monday will make his first visit to the city since becoming president and will speak to the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Chicago Sun-Times has confirmed.

Trump, for years a critic of Chicago’s handling of crime, slammed the city in a speech to the police chiefs group at its annual conference last year in Orlando.

The Sun-Times has also learned that Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson will boycott Trump’s speech.

A White House official told the Sun-Times that the group is “the largest annual gathering of law enforcement leaders in the world” and “the IACP was the first law enforcement association to endorse the President’s First Step Act, which prepares inmates to successfully rejoin society and enacts commonsense sentencing reforms to make our justice system fairer for all Americans. President Trump is expected to discuss his strong record on law enforcement, the historic First Step Act legislation, and economic actions taken to reduce crime and recidivism, including Opportunity Zones.”

The Sun-Times reported earlier this month that Trump was likely to speak to the police chiefs organization.

Johnson said through a spokesman that he is “very much looking forward to hosting America’s police chiefs and participating in collaborative discussions around domestic police policy. However, I will not be attending the presidents’ remarks because the values of the people of Chicago are more important to me than anything that could be said in the speech.”

You mean like a former 10th district commander who, along with his dolly, shot and killed a guy on video when the only force being used against them was a vehicle??? Good thing they were both meritoriously promoted afterwards.
