It is a big deal. Try reading the "supervisor's responsibility" part of the order. We have to review and secure "in car camera and BWC " footage. If your getting an event number even if your immediate supervisor signs off you know COPA is going to be looking at these. Then of course you'll have the bean counters down downtown adding up the numbers. So you'll have the white copper in a African American district pointing at too many black and brown skinned people etc etc. Just another way to disciple and fire coppers for doing work.
Face it now we have an ISR if we stop anyone. We have a TRR if we put hands on anyone. And now we document every time you point your weapon at someone for our own personal safety.
Face it police work is dead. They don't want us doing proactive police work. All you guys out there doing work need to wake up or you're going to be looking at 30 pending.

Hey , if you have not shot out street lights with your local cop or boss cop you should try it. it is called getting in good with the right people. LOL
The drawing shows the rule applies only to pointing handguns? Pointing any rifle or shotgun is not illustrated hence those firearms not included in the requirement to notify when pointed.
The city will be way safer when all officers walk around with longguns slung over their shoulders at all times anyway.

Because they are exempts. Rules and regulations don’t apply to them

call in. So maybe 1 in 20 WILL call. Pretty safe odds.
Force Review Unit will, I repeat WILL, view every pointing incident via BWC. I mean every single pointing incident. Be sure to complete an ISR and clearly document every incident.
Just remember, it’s for the children.
Beat number, last four digits of social security number, mother’s maiden name, dad’s hat size and urine test.
