Northside "Kidnapping"
The detectives are having trouble verifying even a single portion of this story:
- Two men were found handcuffed and duct-taped after telling police they were kidnapped on the Northwest Side Thursday night and police are now questioning their account.
Chicago Police Spokesman Anthony [Google-me] said, "As you may suspect, we take reports like this extremely seriously. In their preliminary investigation to corroborate information, Detectives have serious concerns about legitimacy of what was reported to police. Our investigation continues."
The victims, ages 65 and 55, told police they were in a van waiting for the light to change in the 4000-block of North Milwaukee Avenue at about 11:37 p.m. when three suspects got out of a white van.
We just wanted to point out that 4000 North Milwaukee is.....Irving Park Road.
So even if crime isn't legit, it's happening on Irving Park Road. Be careful northsiders!

Saw a copper on the news taking off the handcuffs from the alleged victim. Copper didn't have gloves on. Is it just me or should the copper at least put gloves on to preserve evidence?

Back in the latter 80’s I happened upon a hand waver “robbery victim” stumbling about Grand-Division.
Poor chap was just sitting in his car minding his own bidness (slumped over the wheel) at 0700 when a lone female asked for a cigarette.
Eventually she beat him like a drum (without leaving a mark) took his wallet, money, his unknown car AND his pants leaving him stranded miles and miles from home on a Sunday morning. Folks at an alley auto repair shop nearby set him up with a pair of draws and $2 for a bus to get home. Will recontact when he finds his plate and vehicle registration.
End of story. 19-H.

Was that stupid jagoff "Smelly" Slollett involved again? If so, we should tread carefully, and not blow away too much money- once again- to prove what we already know, that he's full o' shit.
As to Irving Park safe, was once not so much any more. Will only get worse as the bangers realize there are absolutely no consequences for their bad behavior. ANY AND ALL previously safe neighborhoods at risk, especially since most police coverage has been sent to neighborhoods of color. Your high taxes get you nothing other than being told your not paying your fair share.
Won't be very long before all the collar suburbs in Crook County are lost. Give it 5 years at most.

Bingo. I couldn't believe Ch. 9 News was filming while these officers were getting the story from the victims, then taking out his knife, cutting off the duct tape and wadding it up.
You know, as first on the scene of these fantastic stories, you've got to start acting like the preliminary investigator you are. Take those victims to the side out of view of the news. Preserve evidence as if it matters until you find out differently.

Crime is diversifying and more opportunities to plunder, rob and maim outside the killing fields of the south and west sides. Dude Inc. is looking for fresh meat and unsuspecting victims like on the Mag Mile. North siders, the Dude is coming to pay you a visit you too. He'll be on your block real soon. It's the Chicago Way.
I can tell you that you're not completely wrong. Part of the story is true, but both victim's are not being honest about what really happened. Definitely not a random incident...
