Groot to Break the Law

One of our white shirt readers sends along this interesting bit of news from the PBPA unions - Groot is pushing hard to violate State Law and will be throwing a tantrum if she doesn't get her way:
  • You're going to love this one. We got a letter from the union the other day and it says:

Mayor Lightfoot actually appeared and testified on behalf of the city during one meeting. [...] The city is still stressing that the contract allow for the taking of anonymous [complaints] and also doing away with the signed affidavit. She also mentioned that if the contract does not include allowing anonymous [complaints] she will urge the city council to vote down the arbitrator's contract proposal.

[...] It is continuously brought up that it is Illinois state law to have a signed affidavit for police complaints and a labor contract could not supersede state law.
So Groot wants the white shirts to sign off on surrendering what was one of the greatest discipline reforms in history. The PBPA would be morons to even consider it and we'd be surprised if they did. The FOP isn't going to budge and the entire mess would end up in Court in short order with Groot on the losing end. It's black letter law and you'd think a lawyer would know that.

She is applying Alinsky tactics to continue to drag out contract negotiations and ratification. It's nothing but moving the goal posts in order to facilitate a stalling technique. She doesn't want to have to pay salary increases and retroactive pay, period, full stop. In my opinion, there will be no contract for AT LEAST another 2 years.

Take your anonymous complaints pandering gambit and shove it.

We know she's not our friend, or even neutral towards us. We should be fighting very dirty right now. As in, doing off-duty surveillance on these City councilmen, judges, etc., even the Mayor, investigating, doing whatever it takes to find the dirt that exists on these clowns and refer it to the Feds and the news.

Make our presentation of evidence so ironclad, it can't be denied or covered up.

The Chicago Police Dept is forbidden by City statute to investigate City councilmen. But that doesn't prevent officers and detectives conducting investigations and surveillance on their own time, off duty, and not using Dept resources, purely in an evidence-collecting capacity.

Who would pay for such investigating? Well, I can't think of a better use for our dues than bringing about the downfall of our political enemies by paying investigators to catch these rotten politicians en flagrante. We can't sway elections, our numbers are too few against the allied mass of progressive twit enablers and the perpetually aggrieved poverty pimps.

But we just may have the power to clean up this town in another way, through enforcement of the law.

Read the book that just came out about the Bidens. If a civilian author can uncover such fuckery, imagine what some righteously-motivated Chicago police detectives can accomplish by turning their attentions to the activities of our duly elected legislators and judges.

The only way Chicago is saved is by destroying the Machine. The only way to destroy the Machine is to force the individuals who comprise the Machine to leave politics or catch them dirty and throw them in prison.

Ponder.

Just do not cave and let the unions say, "Ok, we will allow it if there is a change in law." Be sure of one thing, they are already waiting to change the law to get rid of it at the state level.

This is a right, and not one to be negotiated away, not matter what the law says.

I really must take my hat off the SCC. This blog is the only way politicians get the straight information of their failures.

The push to Liberal insanity comes with serious quality of life issues. Working against traditional law and order takes productive taxpayers down the road to deceit, despair and doom.

If I were a youngster today the Chicago Police Department would be the last place I’d want to work. I’m proud of the work I did during better times, but I’m heartbroken for the young men and women subjected to non-stop abuse because of bizarre policies.

To survive, today’s new breed must recognize the situation is hopeless and simply stand down.

Investigative journalism is dead in America and today but in Chicago SCC has performed a great and needed service for over a decade exposing corruption, incompetence and mismanagement.

The taxpayers are benefiting from SCC. Without SCC those politicians and bureaucrats would be totally unchecked.

It’s time for cops to support SCC’s fine journalism financially.

So the members of the city council are supposed to represent your interests not the mayor’s interests. If what is in the post is true we need to call our council members who were elected by us and voice our concerns. And maybe a mass petition delivered to the council.

This is not surprising. When the affidavit became law, Lightfoot was vehemently against signed affidavits being included as part of a CR investigation packet. She said it would discourage complainants from coming forward if they were required to swear, under penalty of law, the truthfulness of their complaint.
Though there is documentation of false complainants made with signed affidavits, I am not aware of any complainant being criminally prosecutedd.

For clarification..................the reason this issue is at arbitration is because PBPA did NOT agree to drop the affidavit as the city requested. The position of the union is that the state law is to be maintained.

When two sides do not agree on an issue it goes to an arbitrator who then makes a decision that is binding. The union would never agree to dropping this matter.

I have to run counter to SCC about that whole "good lawyer" remark. Back in reality what makes a lawyer successful is not that they don't know they are on the wrong side of the law in many obvious matters but rather they are willing to file suit, to say otherwise (AKA lie!) and to generally bullshit to waste time and annoy and harass the other side with the law's lengthy procedures.

Unethical? HELL YES!
Can it backfire? About 40% of the time it does... The rest of the time, that spends down the other sides money and get a settlement and so forth and muddies facts which the media then jumps in and uses to spread more lies.

Lawyering is not about being right and being honest: It is about attacking and causing confusion at times. Sad but so for at least half the Illinois attorneys out there.

Groot is a "good lawyer" insofar as she knows she is wrong per the law but will fight and hector and seek in inflict harm anyway. She will use the law in full allowance, hence she is a lawyer who gets results for her own agenda.

I am guessing you are merit as you do not know that we sold our ‘souls” not soles. I kept my shoes.

‘Sell out’ would imply the Union leaders received something from the city to settle. The Captain’s and Lieutenant’s board receive a stipend that is around $125 per month, the amount of hours spent answering calls, helping people fill out bid forms, responding to emails, attending negotiations on your RDO without compensation, attending focus group meetings without compensation, etc bring the hourly wage to less than the minimum wage in Venezuela.

The board is constantly looking for help, and asking for people to fill the board openings, we resort to asking friends and trusted co-workers because everyone that is asked can’t commit to the time and effort involved. We welcome challenges and opposition to running for the board. However, with 20-30 actives attending the general meetings, which is around 10-15% of membership, I am guessing you are one of the 85% that likes to bitch but do nothing. The raise that we “sold out” for also applies to the board, the board made a well thought calculated decision to accept the raise based on the information available. If we thought it wasn’t fair and reasonable for ourselves, we wouldn’t have accepted it for the membership.

We don’t consult the membership for every vote and decision because you have an opportunity to vote every time there is an election.

If Clown B had succeeded and gained control of the city, added to her control of the county, things would have been much worse than having Clown A running the city and Clown B running the county. Their mutual hate and distrust helps us also. Each is just waiting for the other to falter. It keeps part of their time occupied.
