"Unexpectedly"
- The latest story of the Big Fail known as bail reform comes from New York. There, 21-year-old MS-13 gang member Eusebio Jax-Mejia was arrested on January 1, then released two days ago -- only to be arrested the very same day for the very same crime.
If you follow the news with any sort of regularity, you'll recognize these stories out of New York:
- Gerod Woodberry was under arrest for his suspected involvement in no fewer than four bank robberies. Released under the new law, Woodberry -- you guessed it! -- (allegedly) robbed another bank the day after his release. He's still wanted by police, who will only have to release him again should they catch him again.
- Jonathan Flores-Maldonado was killed by a repeat drunk driver, Jordan Randolph (allegedly). Randolph had been released without bail following his arrest for tampering with a court-mandated ignition interlock device. The device was supposed to prevent him from driving drunk, for which he'd already been convicted three times.
And that's just scraping the surface in New York. There are even more examples in California. Go read it all and wonder how long until this sort of behavior becomes as prevalent here in Crimesha's socialist/progressive paradise.

Honestly I blame the police. Who the hell are these stupid officers that keep locking up these repeat offenders?! The liberal establishment which is in control in NYC has made it very clear they do not want the police locking up criminals.

NYPD here. The way the DA’s (Queens) office is trying to get around this is by telling us to not even catch in the first place. If you are a victim or a witness to a crime you are now being told by the DA’s office that your name, address and phone number will be given to the defendant. Then they are asked if you are willing to proceed with the complaint. Guess what is happening? Everything is getting dismissed. Crime stats are gonna plummet and these new reforms will look great. Public is dumb enough to fall for it though.
Bosses around here who have always pushed for arrests, saying you will always be protected as long as it is a lawful arrest are now telling us to slow down and use discretion. Since there is no resident restrictions here, nobody is really losing any sleep over it. Let the city crumble.

You know I can't even remember the last 2. Who was before Johnson? This shows how little I even care. I do remember Weis as being pretty good in retrospect. He gave us the 4-2 and a bunch of weapons to choose from. He got a lot of shit for wearing the uniform but the reason he wore it is because Donahue from the FOP advised his that it was ok. Bring back Weiss and tell him I apologize for all the bad things I said about him at the time.

I’m thankful to live in a state that has conceal carry as well as open carry. If a store has a “no firearms” sign, I go to a different one. If I miss a sign somewhere, oh well. I live 20 some mile from the Mexican border in a democrat state (New Mexico). Former LEO from the good old days.. I encourage writers and readers here to research what happened and is happening in Brazil. By all accounts, Brazil cities (Rio, San Paulo) and Brazilian jails were much more violent than anything the USA has had up until this point.
I read of many prison uprisings in Brazilian jails where the prison guards were mostly murdered. I also read where the worst Brazilian gangs run the prisons and do strikes for things like demanding large color TVs to watch Brazil in World Cup Football matches.
But then, even with much worst racial demographics than the USA, Brazil elected a very law and order White European President. He had to survive a Communist knife assassination attempt but he did win. The US (Fake news) media reacted with typical "Brazil elects a fascist Trump like President". But then it went off the radar.
I believe this law and order Brazilian President got, gets lots of support from poor, lower middle class Evangelical Christians including Black African Brazilian Evangelical Christians who have just had it with the worst street gang criminals and no longer go in for South American Communists/Leftists like Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and the chaos that came after/now.
Maybe we could get some Chicago ExPats now living in Brazil to let us know how things are going in Brazil and other South American countries that have shown promise like Uruguay and Chile.
The only way to change this is to revamp the law that bars people from suing the courts.
