Again we are second class citizens and the law doesn’t apply to us lowly PO’s. The state of Illinois says weed is harmless and legal for all over 21... why is the CPD still allowed to test for THC? Are politicians tested, they make the laws. Are teachers tested? How about the rest of city works? Fireman? I know there are many coppers against this which is fine but the reality is many older coppers suffer from chronic back pain from driving around with these belts on in these small cars with these cages. Many coppers also suffer from PTSD whether it be from a traumatic incident or just exposed to crime scene after crime scene. Many are told don’t drink alcohol due to other medical issues diabetes, blood pressure and being over weight. Now there is or should be an alternative. Not to mention it may get cops of of prescriptions. Go ahead tell me I’m crazy.

Kills ambition and amplifies existing mental illnesses.

One of the main reasons for legalization is to dumb your kid down to receive CPS indoctrination.

Way to late for any second thoughts. Jabba the Hut already in,power. What you all betterights be worried about is where all these new tax dollars will be going. Pay down debt or new spending. Hold them Accountable! There will be no Casino money in Chicago this year so that revenue source is gone. Just curious as to how much of the 20 budget was counting on weed and Casino Revenue? Anyone have a Clue? Oh they will say none but you all know the truth they budget by projection so part of budget counted the weed and casino dollars. Speaking of those dollars haven't heard anything about how the weed sales are doing other than the first week of 1p million plus dollars. What is. Happening, still lines or are the stores still sold out.

Marijuana
Medical and Recreational
And YOUR Gun Rights

2020 rings in a new era in Illinois with the legalization of recreational marijuana. Whether you agree or disagree with usage, it is upon us. Before you run out to partake here are a few things for you to consider. The federal form 4473 specifically calls out medical and recreational usage (11e). Until something changes on the federal level, marijuana is still considered a Schedule 1 substance and usage remains a disqualifier for purchase and possession of firearms and ammunition. There is currently no way to be removed from the prohibited persons list. If you are a user and you answer truthfully, the sale is terminated. If you answer no, you have perjured yourself on a federal form.

Medical marijuana has been allowed under Illinois law for several years now. Illinois has determined that as a medical marijuana card holder you are still eligible for a FOID and Concealed Carry License issued by the Illinois State Police. When you are issued a medical or caretaker card you are entered into the federal prohibited person database meaning; you can no longer purchase a firearm from a firearm dealer. A person to person sale within the state of Illinois is still allowed assuming the applicable laws are followed.

Recreational marijuana in Illinois brings with it more mystery. The Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act in Illinois allows adults over the age of 21 to purchase and consume marijuana in varying amounts when purchased at a state licensed dispensary. This law specifically states that Illinois does not consider it illegal to posses or consume varying amounts of marijuana products which, once again, puts Illinois in direct conflict with federal law. The Illinois State Police state that they will not revoke your FOID or Concealed carry unless you are addicted to, or a habitual user. Addicted to or habitual user is wide open to definition, we are still awaiting clarification on "conspicuous" from the 2013 concealed carry law. The Illinois law also states that that the dispensary shall not collect or share your information unless they obtain your consent or as authorized under the law. Keep in mind that when you purchase, they are required to scan your state ID to verify your age and identity. There are many social media posts that clearly show names and addresses of purchasers. Make no mistake, there will be a database of purchasers at some point.

Keep in mind that the rule making authority defined in the law allows for recommendations and changes as required. As we have seen in past laws, this is easily and quickly done outside of the legislative process.

With 41% (for now) going to taxes, the low stocked dispensary’s will probably be buying wholesale cartel street weed and repackaging it as boutique blends.
Stay away from seeking a prescription for medical weed, even if it’s eligible for a co-pay.

Some people get high on weed others get high on power!

To all those who express outrage about the below FOP Board members, there is a FOP general mtg. on Tuesday. Ask them to stand up and be recognized. Ask those who are standing to raise their hands if they voted themselves a pay raise in the middle of their term. Then ask Kevin Graham why he did not break the five to five-vote at the Political Action Committee? I have court at 26th street. If I can get there, I’ll do it myself. Ask who was the 12th vote was to endorse Martwick. While they are standing ask those who were not at the last FOP Board meeting to stand if they voted for a pay raise in the past. That is your no fly list! If they refuse to identify themselves then ask the board members who voted for O'Toole to stand. That's the start of your punch list for the election.

I wonder how many of the below have the flu Tuesday.

MARK DONAHUE – Trustee
JOHN CAPPARELLI – Treasurer
BILL DOUGHERTY – Trustee
KEN HAUSER – Trustee
DANIEL TREVINO – Trustee (son running for Judge 10th Circuit)
BILL BURNS – Sgt. at Arms
MICHAEL GARZA – Financial Secretary
SERGIO ESCOBEDO – Trustee
ANDREW CANTORE – Trustee
FRANK QUINN – Trustee
MIKE UNDERWOOD - Trustee
12th vote?

The Evil Weed.

Marijuana hysteria picked up steam in the 30s because of a propaganda campaign waged by the guy in charge of the original DEA (Federal Bureau of Narcotics) and just picked up steam from there.

Enforcement of marijuana laws was one of the most misguided and wasteful use of resources in our ban happy history.

Fellow officers get familiar with CHS, Cannaboid Hyperemesis Syndrome, you're going to see a lot of kids and adults filling up the emergency rooms of hospitals. The THC potency is so strong in this new stuff that it's going to get users hooked on it, just like heroin and cocaine.

Cannaboid Hyperemesis Syndrome symptoms include cyclical vomiting characterized by dry heaving/retching, which once started, could and does go on for days and weeks without end. All it takes is to catch a flu bug or stomach virus and the uncontrollable vomiting begins. This can lead to severe medical issues with acid/bile irritating the stomach lining. Once CHS triggers the cyclical vomiting the individual will suffer from dehydration and will require IV's and medication to calm the stomach lining and diaphragm. The problem is an ER visit is only going to stop the symptoms for a short time until the meds wear off. The only 100% way to not have CHS is to clear the THC out of your body and not smoke marijuana.

If you've ever seen someone going through CHS you'll never want to smoke marijuana, that I can tell you. Instead of weed, try the non THC gummies, they give you all the benefits of marijuana without the medical issues THC brings.

If you want to get high, go bang your head off the wall for a little while. Drugs, even marijuana, are for losers!

The fuss is hilarious. My 'high' school had a smoking area in which the kids were smoking pot with administrators walking through the groups. No one cared then or now. Makes the kids easier to handle, and it's not like the entire networks aren't easy to roll up should the need arise. That weed makes for stupid and maladjusted users is just a price we all have to bear. After all, Taco Bell always needs employees

How often do we hear this kind of stupidity. Logic is lost on the stoner. Yes, alcoholics are bad. What has that got to do with pot heads? How about don't smoke dope and don't drink to excess? Or is that too hard to fathom to a marijuana addict?

If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. If a couple of drinks after work with your mates on an occasional basis is not enough to unwind, then you're in the wrong business. The cost of duty is stress. We all have to relieve it, but in a profession of arms, losing control due to drugs or alcohol is unacceptable. Marijuana is stored in the fat; it's not like waiting for the liver to break down a fermented sugar. Smoke a joint today, test positive for the rest of the week. Should tell you something. Just have to look at history, or the Islamic world. First thing to notice on deployments was these 'people' have no desire to change. Then notice they smoke a lot of hash, but alcohol is punishable by death. What does that tell us? That a ruler wants a stupid and stoned populace that he can keep in the 7th Century while pocketing whatever baksheesh comes his way, then legalize weed. Arab countries are the ultimate hipster experience. Loud music, strong coffee and strong weed. Every day is like the one before, and if something needs to be built, pay some infidels to get it done and then leave. Bad infrastructure, roaches? Allah wills it(pass the bong) That's why we don't need weed, and those that can't handle life without it need to get off their asses and work out their problems elsewhere. Get a garden, raise hamsters, anything is better than living like a Pathan
