Artwork Offends Groot
Is anyone familiar with some of the artwork adorning the walls by Groot's office on Five? It's being removed and put into storage, out of the public eye:
- Apparently the artwork is too European and racist in its depictions of the settling of Chicago, so [Lightfoot] is banishing those historic, but to her, offending pieces to a basement, to be replaced by more politically correct pieces.[...]
One would think there are bigger fish to fry in Lightfoot’s Chicago, but apparently the short fused shrew has no limit to taking offense to any and everything.
So head over to city hall quickly if you want a last viewing of celebrated pieces of art before they fall victim to the Mayor’s censorship.
It certainly is reminiscent of the habits of bygone totalitarian regimes (and modern day "progressives") to erase the past by hiding paintings, renaming buildings and tearing down statues.

At least she's not defacing the art and pastimg her mug over top of them. Probably shouldn't give her the (an) idea. Yet shitcago is broke and she's wasting money like a true demonrat. Of course it's other people's money and all....

Couple this story with the Idi Amin-like actions of the Gold Star Elite at the United Center the other day and you have a portrait of Chicago as a 3rd World canker sore.

I used to love going to the Chicago Historical Society up until about 14 years ago when I visited last. That last visit, I saw all kinds of politically correct displays with nothing to do with Chicago's historical past. But I guess that is the socialist's goal, obliterate yet another part of our city's past because the socialists "didn't build it."
