Of Course They Did

So Blago gets out after eight years for never taking a dime. Rahm walks around free as a bird after steering $1.3 BILLION (with a B) to a politically connected developer:
  • Key to the massive $1.3 billion taxpayer subsidy for Sterling Bay’s Lincoln Yards megadevelopment was a 36-page report declaring that the project met the requirements to get the money.

As Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration promoted the record tax increment financing deal at a November 2018 public meeting inside a church, a planning official introduced the author of that report as “the city’s TIF consultant.”

The consultant took the microphone and said the report was done “on behalf of the city of Chicago.”

What the administration and consultant didn’t tell the crowd: Developer Sterling Bay had both picked the consultant and paid the firm. And that consultant also had been retained by a Sterling Bay subsidiary to lobby City Hall on the final terms of the Lincoln Yards agreement.
In the meantime, pensions continue to dwindle, a casino is still a pipe dream, taxes are going up while population is going down. But Sterling Bay profits are going up and - no doubt - so are their contributions to political campaigns.

Who knows how much money shanks had buried in his back yard or hidden in his basement. The first 15 minutes of the news was covering the release of badboyobitch making him look like a victim instead of the crook that he is. The patronage hacks who run this city and state government are a disgrace and represent themselves, not the people of this city or state.

This is how the city works, millions scattered around in spiffs and donations to get zoning approved for Lincoln Yards. And if you're a fan of DePaul University basketball, see if you can catch a shuttle to McCormick Place to watch a game. And now less than a mile away, they going to have Lincoln Yards, with tons of redevelopment, business, high price residential and some sort of venue for concerts.

The whole corrupt sterling development bay is a trophy and beacon of corruption in Chicago and to this day should not be allowed to continue. How can the people of Chicago afford and tolerate the negligence ,corruption ,hate, violence and carnage that their city spews on them and the rest of Our Great Country everyday?

George Ryan was way dirtier and he only did 6. Ryan’s inspector general, Dean Bauer, did about one year at Sandstone, during most of which he was getting world-class cancer treatment at the Mayo Clinic at taxpayer expense. When he got out people commented on how fit, lean and healthy he looked.

The Feds are working on so many leads, and doing so much investigating, that it will take years to catch up. But they're doing it. More birdies will be singing as they face the specter of jail time. State, County, City, and the businesses paying them off. It won't be anytime soon, sadly, but at least somebody's doing it. Our state AG's have been useless in this regard.

Lincoln Yards is 6 miles from Wintrust Arena.

You’re speaking of the 78 development on Roosevelt.

Great city, Lightfoot is terrorizing a Northside recycling plant near the site that Sterling Bay wants because they are throwing campaign money all over Chicago to force General Iron out. Watch Lori's campaign account start climbing. She is a vindictive whatever who wants the city to be a huge Alligator Gardens and she is slowly doing it. We will see how our Gold Coast liberals like it this summer.

Just a question......
Is any of that big development, big money housing project going to have any “diversified”
(low income/welfare) homes? Since this was supported by TIF money.....are any of Lori’s
people able to get in on the ride? Was that part of the deal?
Just curious.....cuz that sure was a lot of city money thrown at them.

FURTHERMORE - It was Lari LightLoafer who at one point promised to nix the RahmDeal then flip-flopped and Approved it, very quickly too.
Even going so far as to order an eviction and fines to a long time, decades old scrapyard that’s in Sterlings colony development path.

With Groot spending over $200,000 in TIF funds for an unnecessary inaugural weekend office makeover (lowering the door jambs, ceiling and desk legs) was a good clue how that slush fund is vital (to community reinvestment).

Audit the corrupt TIF funding program....ILAG Kwame is on it.

So if the City had a billion to spend on this survey, then why did we need to sell the parking meters for a billion? To pay for this survey? Was it money owed to someone for a past job?

Why does everyone want a casino? They are a drain on society. That’s not the answer to the pension problem. Not spending the pension money on things other than pensions is the answer. I don’t want a ghetto-ass casino in Chicago.

I wonder how many people know that Rahm grew up with a couple old school Simon City Royals from the lake view area. No surprise then when TJ was awarded 25 mil from the city with hardly any fight from Rahm's legal camp. Someone should look into that if they want to find any juicy bits of corruption on our glorious mayor. Dig into that and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. Look into his meetings with city council and his financial experts, and perhaps one ought to take a gander at Rahm's Christmas party photos from 2012. Look closely, See if you can find TJ standing there with a shit-eating grin on his mug. Rahm thought this asshole was going to be his poster child for rehabilitation and demonstrate the city's willingness to right the wrongs of Chicago's deplorable police department. But I guess he had another thing coming because TJ had plans of his own. That's Chicago for you. Oh, don't let me forget that this gangbanging punk handed a large sum of cash to the late Paul Bauer to keep the police off his ass when he moved into his gangster Mansion in 018 back in 2015. Plus don't forget about the child abuse sex scandal at Chicago Public Schools?

For those talking about a casino. It is likely the city will insist on putting it somewhere it won't make any money so there will not be much in the way of profits to tax to pump up the pension plans.
