Ten Cops Hospitalized

All sorts of injuries last night resulting in the hospitalization of at least ten cops that we've heard. Three from this fire:
  • Three Chicago police officers entered an apartment building in the Bronzeville neighborhood Saturday night to knock on doors and let people know the building was on fire, according to police. While inside, the officers suffered from smoke inhalation and had to be taken to a hospital along with four of the building’s residents, including a 5-year-old boy.

Firefighters were called to the extra-alarm fire before 10:45 p.m. Saturday at an apartment complex at 4820 S. King Drive on the South Side, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Six others went to the hospital from a multiple squad car collision on the west side:
  • Two Chicago police vehicles were involved in a crash Saturday night that sent six officers to a hospital, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The crash occurred about 8 p.m. in the intersection of West Jackson Boulevard and South Springfield Avenue in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, said Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The officers were responding to a call that another officer needed help, according to the Chicago Police Department. The crash involved a marked Chicago police squad car and one unmarked police vehicle.
Another ended up at the hospital after an unknown incident.

Now if we can just get the prosecutors and the courts to find some centilla of courage to prosecute and incarcerate those who put so many innocent lives at risk. Police do there job. Saving lives and responding to hot calls are just many of the individual acts of courage leading to acts of heroism on display everyday. You rock C.P.D.

Our mayor is so proud of the NBA ball bouncers dribblers and free throw all stars. The drive around in limos with armed guards throwing lavish parties with other celebrities. The mayor fawns at the glandular fools who endorse those communist Chinese made sports products

The real all stars are the men and women of CPD who rescue people of the frigid lake to their own peril, running into burning buildings with trench coats and air tanks and respond to fellow officer's call for assistance risking their lives. This is a true All Star Team.

These C.P.D. All Stars get little adoring accolades from the mayor. They won't have franchise-logoed Chinese made sports apparel endorsements, they won't have their own line of overpriced gym shoes, been afforded a ride in bulletproof limos with the bimbos and don't forget those celebrities attending six figure expensive lavish parties paid by their big named sports agents with all the facebook notoriety. But the mayor has time to attend these goofs parties, performances and has kind words of their ball bouncing athleticism.

Here's to hoping none of ours got permanently harmed in these incidents. A couple of guys I worked with on occasion would get pissed off at me because of the way I'd drive to a PO needs assistance call. I wasn't going to drive recklessly and get into an accident on the way to help another copper. Do you know why? Because you never get there at all in that case. These violent dogs hear the sirens and know the cavalry is otw and act accordingly, like they hurry up and leave. The only 10-1's I recall lasting very long were in the projects and 30 or 40 cars would show up and we were still vastly outnumbered by the revelers. Once the incident was under control, we left as fast as we came, no lollygagging around. Of course, if a 10-1 happened in 017, the only way you could get 30 or 40 cars there would be if the ENTIRE NORTH SIDE OF THE CITY showed up. But, we're not short of help. Nope, not at all.

$75 Million For Chicagoland Public Housing. (Associated Press-16 February 2020-0847 hours)

Federal officials say nearly a dozen public housing authorities in the Chicago area will receive $75 million in funding for development, financing and modernization.

The money is coming through a capital program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Development and the bulk of it, nearly $65 million, will go to the Chicago Housing Authority. Other recipients including housing authorities in Joliet, Aurora, Waukegan and Oak Park.

U.S. Sens. Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth say in a news release that the funding "gives local agencies in the Chicagoland region the ability to offer safe and affordable housing to those who need it most." End.

Wonderful. Just wonderful. Funds to destroy other communities. Thanks Dickie, thanks Tammy.

Some of these officers need to learn how to drive. I understand you want to get there to help another officer in need, but as the saying goes you can’t help if you don’t get there. Now you just injured a bunch of fellow officers and you have to tie up a ton of resources to help you now. Not a good situation. Having seen first hand how some of these officers, especially tac, drive, it’s a wonder more officers aren’t hurt or killed.

Hopefully none involved have any lasting injuries.

“I asked for any communications Wodnicki made on that day June 12 that explained what he was doing in Indiana and any interactions he had with the Indiana state police,” Needham said.

When CPD ignored his request, he filed a lawsuit.

And ultimately CPD responded, saying Wodnicki had no communication through his work email or texts.

That’s some District personnel management, mmmm-mmm-mm.
So being down another 2 vehicles, expect next weekends war games will be the cramming 5-6 to a car to meet the needs of flooding the zone for the DC to showcase his Compstat portfolio.

So is one area down ten? If so bet they steal some from the taxpaying areas to make up the shortage. That happens you can expect an increase in crime in the light police areas.

Although I do agree with your premise that guys need to slow down, got to get there to be useful, The guy driving the unmarked wasn’t a newbie, and he’s no young kid either. But speaking of “veterans” he did do several combat tours as a marine. If you ever meet him, he’s one of the baddest dudes around. Nice guy to talk to, ask him about where he’s been and what he’s done. You’ll learn too that you’re happy he’s on our side.

OT be relevant due to law enforcement suicides...

I don't endorse nor pick apart the study or data, just share and you can read and decide for yourself on the content/report.

Study: 'Tough Guys' More Prone to Suicide
https://www.newsmax.com/health/health-news/men-mental-health-suicide/2020/02/14/id/954122/

"For example, he noted, it's common for men to have a generally "rigid coping style" — where they react to situations like a job loss or relationship loss in an unhealthy way, instead of seeking help."

"The findings, published online Feb. 12 in the journal JAMA Psychiatry, come amid a rising suicide rate among Americans overall. A 2019 study, for example, found a 41% increase in the U.S. suicide rate between 1999 and 2016."

Don't kill yourself, k?!

As Chicago descends into Third World status with parallel Third World Crime, we can soon expect to see 11 man “Rifle Squad” of CPD riding in sandbagged 5 ton trucks, as in Mexico and India. I say we see this by 2030.

DC Carter, soon to he chief decides to 19P it because it's one of the DJs hired for the event. Are you fucking kidding me. He needs to be dumped immediately. Mayor you paying attention?

You're 100% correct. Things will change quickly...like the number of usable police cars we have. At least on the West side, our SUV's would burning by time we got back from our first "beat walk". Good idea on paper, no longer in reality. They've won. Looking for retirement and forgetting about this job.

Wait? They cancelled days off?? Oh no, that's right, only for those that drink the koolaid and CHOOSE to go to units and teams, for what? So the dept can steal more of your life. No thanks, watch guy here, enjoyed my RDO weekend and except for rare occasions, no worries of cancelled days off for savage bullshit. Wake up guys.

No, he's too worried about cracking the whip on BUMP CARDS nowadays...Last few weeks had all the bosses updating shaving exemptions like it was the most important subject around. These people work in 011, 90% of the community wants cpd dead, and BUMP CARDS are even on the radar?? I guess when you're grasping at straws to stem the shooting numbers and you're not the brightest guy around, you think cops with beards is important. How about really taking care of your troops instead of alienating them?

Well said but lest we forget all the fellow Officers and hose jockeys who idolize these clowns and other athletes along with actors and actresses the only way it’s gonna change is to boycott all of it I know it’s tuff but maybe coach your own kids or volunteer at an animal shelter or read a book I know it’s sounds lame but that’s the only way it’ll change!!! Hit em in the pocket book no jerseys nothing don’t even buy shoes from certain manufacturers!! Like Brooks Running shoes maybe they ain’t Nike’s who cares!!

First off, they are 4 to a car because the city refuses to buy vans. If each tact team had a van they could report to an even with the entire team in one vehicle, not 3 or 4, like they did for the NBS event, thereby leaving no cars in the district. Secondly, these 4 cops will be in a world of hurt once IG Ferguson investigates them for "trolling" for OT and medical time.
