You thought last weekend was bad - and it was in terms of dead bodies in February. But it's probable that this weekend will be considered a bigger problem, based solely on the number of children catching lead across the city:
- An 11-year-old boy was wounded Friday in what police said was an accidental shooting in Lawndale on the West Side.
He was accidentally shot in the neck by his 7-year-old sister at 7:49 p.m., according to preliminary information from Chicago police.
- At least six people were wounded in a shooting Friday inside a South Side apartment.
[...] A 14-year-old girl with gunshot wounds to the back, shoulder and lower backside and a 15-year-old girl with gunshot wounds to the leg and foot were both taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, according to police. The younger girl was in critical condition while the older girl was in good condition.
Another 14-year-old girl was shot in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.
- A teenage girl was accidentally shot in the face Saturday afternoon in the Little Village neighborhood, marking the fourth juvenile hit by accidental gunfire in the city since Friday night and the seventh child wounded in Chicago gun violence over an 18-hour span.
- An 8-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were accidentally shot by another child Friday in Bronzeville on the South Side.
The boy, whose age was not specified, found a gun and was playing with it about 10:20 p.m. inside the home when he shot the other two children, according to Chicago police. All three kids are related.

Valentine massacre weekend. Last weekend it was 11 killed. This weekend the ganstas, thugs and aspiring entrepreneurs shot up the place and wounded and maiming six including three juveniles at 65th and Martin Luther King Drive in this not so nationally televised Mass Shooting. Seven childrens shot so far this weekend in our bias free city. Ole Scarface d.b.a. Al Capone would be considered a low level foot soldier given the accomplishments of the progressively indoctrinated children in our city. All during the cultural set aside month of February and all its colorful commemorative keeping the legacy alive festivities.
And we are only half way through this month. The too little too late department reorganization and the collective brain power of so many gold stars will soon bring back peace to the streets.

Rep. Federal officials say nearly a dozen public housing authorities in the Chicago area will receive $75 million in funding for development, financing and modernization.
The money is coming through a capital program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Development and the bulk of it, nearly $65 million, will go to the Chicago Housing Authority. Other recipients including housing authorities in Joliet, Aurora, Waukegan and Oak Park.
U.S. Sens. Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth say in a news release that the funding "gives local agencies in the Chicagoland region the ability to offer safe and affordable housing to those who need it most." End.

I hope the cops involved in the crash last night are doing OK. But they need to learn that it is a bad idea to fly down the street without hitting the brakes with lights and siren blasting. Please know that you cant hear other sirens when you have yours blasting. I bet not one of the drivers have 10 years on the job and look now you weren't able to get to that assist call to help out another cop. Just wait until they award punitive damages against you and you lose everything. City doesn't cover punitive awards.

If CPS taught gun safety like they do reading, writing, and arithmetic, those wounded would be fatalities.

Disagree they award punitive damages quite frequently you must be a boss that are like the rest telling the young hard charges to go get them, we have your back and when something happens you walk away and say I never said that twisted knife yeah we’re going to get out there and risk everything not anymore sorry Boss.

And after bullshitting his way through two presidential terms with nothing positive to show for it, convinces the City to give up Park District property to build a presidential center that will house nothing but a gymnasium and NO presidential memorabilia (because there is none). The city, in its wisdom will put a branch of the public library there and thereby taxpayers will kick in for maintenance of this for profit, privately owned facility. But all thats ok, because after this guy, who lacked the means to rent a car 15 years ago, has signed book deals, has a production deal with Netflix, purchased a 10 million dollar property in Martha's Vineyard and has a wife who appears to have bigger balls than he does. But not to worry, he's in town this weekend holding fireside chats and serving as an inspiration to all those would be party goers in Englewood. What a country!

Of the nearly $1.1 million in punitive damages awarded in police misconduct verdicts the city has paid to resolve since 2009, the Tribune found that Chicago police officers were ultimately responsible for nearly $285,000, an analysis of court records shows.
In 10 years and 1339 cases comes to $212 a case. That’s a far cry from losing everything. These were from police misconduct cases which tend to award more punitive damages than accidents. Not trying to minimize, but put it in its proper perspective
