No One Mentioned This

We venture no opinion on this. We post it merely in the interest of full disclosure to all members of the CPD and all taxpayers of Chicago:
  • LANCASTER - The son of Dallas Police Chief David Brown killed a Lancaster police officer and another man during a Sunday melee that left three people dead, according to a law enforcement official.

David Brown Jr., 27, was himself shot and killed by officers, according to the official.

A law enforcement source who is familiar with the case and who asked that he not be identified said Brown had been behaving erratically at the apartment complex where the shootings occurred, in the 900 block of River Bend Drive near West Pleasant Run Road in southern Dallas County.
This was nearly ten years ago and the sins of the son shouldn't pass to the father. But as a finalist for the top job here, full disclosure is the watchword.

Yes the sins do pass. An apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I disagree that the sins of the son should not reflect on the father. Shows he can’t keep his own house clean.

Agreed and very tragic.

However he has balls because on his order he blew up that POS killer of the 5 Dallas Officers by means of remote detonation device. That sent a very strong message to Police haters and BLM.

So does he bear a grudge and seeks revenge
against The Police for what happened to his son?

In the name of full disclosure, this IS
a pertinent question that bears asking.

No disrespect intended but all things are
on the table regarding the well being, safety,
work environment and management culture that
Chicago Policemen are going to be subjected to.

For better and/or for worse.

What happened to the Brown Family was and is a tragedy.

Regardless... Whispers are that he was no friend
of the DPD rank and file.

Any brethren from DPD to confirm or refute?

So... Are we going to be dealing with a grudge-holding
revenge-seeking mayor AND superintendent on top of all
the other stuff we're afflicted with here in Chicago?

That's by design.

Hard and pointy questions do not get asked
and due diligence cannot be done when information
like this doesn't come to the fore.

Good looking out, SCC.

I disagree. The sins of the son have nothing to do with the father. I once looked down on parents who had troubled children and thought they didn't raise them properly. I thought this until it happened to my wife and I. In many cases the parents do all they can to raise their children properly and they still turn out bad in spite of extraordinary efforts to raise them properly. Just my 2 cents.

And now Dallas has Chief Ulysha Renee Hall. They hate her too, I heard. And cops are still leaving because the money is better in the burbs and better working conditions. I think they got someone much worse with this one.

Remember she said, “There are individuals in this city who have returned from prison who cannot find a job, who are not educated. In those instances those individuals are forced to commit violent acts.” Forced to commit violent acts, sounds like Foxx doesn't it? And I can't see her ever blowing up a suspect no matter what he did. She loves criminals too much for that. She was hired because she is a black female, that's it. Cities pander to the protected classes (which include criminals now) to the nth degree, move if you can. Let them eat each other.

I know a former DPD lieutenant well. He said Brown was universally disliked by the supervisors, rank and file and community in Dallas. He tried to SJW the Department without understanding that wasn’t what the community wanted.

I wonder who pulled the strings on that one. They say all you
need is six but I just have to believe that those guys resented
every minute of that detail. I wondered where the hatred
came from and now we know thanks to SCC. Yeah, Brown
is a real head case and it's clear that event will have an effect
on every decision he makes in an executive capacity.
He would have to be psychotic for this to not be a factor. You
just can't put stuff like that behind you. There had to be issues
in his upbringing. You just don't go out and kill a cop after you
leave the boys choir.

Chief Brown could not be reached. First Assistant Chief Charlie Cato, Brown's second in command, confirmed the death in a prepared statement, which he read late Sunday night at Dallas police headquarters.

It can go either way. Parents do play a role in the morality etc of a person, any and all baggage within a household can transfer to the children making them susceptible to all sorts of actions and reactions in life, but at some point, you have to allow for free will. There really is just no way to definitively say who is going to turn out how absolutely. I’ve had friends that grew up in alcoholic households but excelled outside the home. I’ve known people brought up in seemingly normal uneventful homes turn out to be sociopaths. At the very worst, it may seem Chief Brown probably will have his own internal struggles with this job, police because of the incident with his son. Honestly, if he does I can’t blame him. I get tired of the endless insincere “We are family” I’ve heard for well over 20 years now and in a heartbeat we can be so nasty to one another on the job. Other times, I seen and have experienced sincere graciousness, kindness. What happened with his son is a tragedy but there’s no way to know if that has made him a better policeman or worse. The worst thing I read about Brown had to do with his handling of sex harassment stuff in the training academy there. I think that’s par for the course in an organization such as ours.

By the way, people keep making comments about what kind of Chief would be good for rank & file etc. If you haven’t noticed, the administration in this city has no intention of giving us who we’d like as a Supe. They are only interested in destroying our morale and strength as a bargaining unit.

This is heavy. Very heavy. I just read the LA Times
article about Chief Brown and the sense of loss,
violence and drugs that surrounded his family. You just
could not write a story like this. In 1988, while working in
the department's physical evidence section, Brown came
upon a familiar pair of eyeglasses. They belonged to his
former partner who was shot on Father's Day and would
die just 3 hours later. In 1991, Brown's younger brother
Kelvin was killed by Pheonix drug dealers. Then in 2010,
his son was high on PCP and killed a Lancaster police officer.
It's hard to believe that all this could befall one person, but
that's exactly what happened.

Let me see if I get this choice of this amazing Brown fella. His brother was killed by drug dealers so that means his brother was into shit. His son was killed in a police shootout. Enough said there. And his partner was killed in the line of duty. This is some bullshit. This guy escapes all this turmoil miraculously and we’re lead to believe these narratives. WTF this is some sort of a sick joke, right. There is so much baggage here he needs to wear multiple trusses just to keep his junk in place. This is the best we can do? Between him and that carpetbagging Uncle Fester from la la land there has to be something better out there. What the f@*k is wrong with this cursed city?

DPD doesn't hate Brown for the sins of his son. They hate him because he made the department provide a police escort for the funeral of a cop-killer, his son. Any honorable copper would have buried his son quietly and without the honors reserved for heros. Thats why they hate him.

To DISTANCE himself from the regular guys, NOT to

Brown was the Dallas Chief of Police and he owns it. He is accountable and responsible for the men and women under his charge and the public residents under his purview. In the big scheme of things any of our own HQ's Staff Mutts could run Dallas PD and do as well as Brown. He was mediocre during his tenure.

Now if Brown gets the job here I don't think he could handle it better than Special Ed (hopefully w/o the Hennessy bottle). Probably would be less effective cause the snakes would twist him out of his shorts at Shitty Hall and the Alderc0reatures would bend him over a chair and have there way with him in a month or two. A better fit would be in Cleveland, Kansas City or Pittsburg. The Pol's here are flesh eaters.

Not so, after leaving the city in 2011, I worked in town just a bit south of Lancaster, in Ellis County (home of Bonnie and Clyde). Yea it’s south of Dallas, but more farm, God, Guns, type south. Oak Cliff, now part of Dallas is like the South burbs here (Dolton, Harvey, etc) Lancaster PD was good guys/gals. I worked for the retired LPD Lt who handled his Dept’s part in the shooting; saw the locker of the officer killed, was covered in glass (it’s a TX thing. Now further south, never looked back. When I saw Brown as a pic, WTF! Brown was disliked by most DPD
I work with a few retired DPD guys now and they were all saying your old place is done with him. Good luck.
Anyway stay safe boys/girls!
