- A South Shore man who received just two years probation for committing a pair of 2018 robberies in Boystown has been charged with the cold-blooded slayings of two men during a botched robbery in Chinatown this weekend.
Prosecutors on Monday charged 20-year-old Alvin Thomas with two counts of first-degree murder for the shooting deaths of 36-year-old Huayi Bian and 38-year-old Weizhon Xiong in a parking lot on the 2000 block of South Wells around 2:13 a.m. Sunday.

Living here is killing my soul. Just when you think it couldn't get any more messed up, they get another 1st down to keep the ball moving down the drain.
Probation for two separate robberies. They were strong arm robberies so he was charged with two class 1 felonies. He should have been sitting in their for 4-8 years. If he was sentenced appropriately and taken to trial then he would have not murdered two innocent people. Instead, he was given a plea of two years probation. Foxx at her news conference talked all about not pushing retail theft and suspended licenses.. well, soft on robberies is inexcusable as it’s a violent offense. Now two people are dead.

We can't split our vote between these three or else the biatch will win again. Ideally, it would be great if 2 of the 3 opt out. It ain't gonna happen. Get all of our patriotic. law-abiding people to agree to vote for only one candidate rather than splitting votes between "stalking horses". If not, Crimesha will be reelected despite the "Juicy" farce, her pro-criminal vendetta against police and six new felony indictments v. her pal "Juicy".
(4) Come November's general election, vote for the Republican candidate.
Since the majority of the Sun-Times readership is minorities and whose paper employs the likes of Jesse Jackson and Mary Mitchell, it’s no surprise they endorse Crimesha. But the last few days the queen of Cabrini is looking mighty haggard on tv, so maybe these recent developments will cause the lakefront idiots to vote her out.

I recall the days when a person who committed an armed robbery did not get probation and spent a few years in the joint. Now we have liberal " restorative justice". I can see this for property crimes and even for a few minor violent crimes such as assault or battery. But, armed robbery? I was present at a dinner and I heard the Chief Judge and Preckwinkle say that they would replace stolen property during a restorative justice hearing if the victim apologized.

This will fade out of the media in a few days. The police were chasing a male black who had just committed a double murder and he had his gun on him. They apprehended him and recovered the gun. They did NOT shoot him. Why isn’t the media pointing that out? If they’d have shot him there’d be protesting, rioting even though this guy committed a double murder.
