- Three juveniles are charged after a police chase that ended in a car crash in South Chicago.
Police said the minors — ages 13, 12 and 10 — were speeding in a Jeep Cherokee around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, when they rear-ended an unmarked police car and drove away. Officers chased the Jeep to the 8700 block of South Chicago Avenue, where it then crashed into nine parked vehicles at a car dealership before flipping over.
Anyone hear from the parents? Are they paying for the damages caused by their spawn?

Only one kid was the driver. Maybe the other two where innocent 😇 passengers who where injured due to an unnecessary and highly dangerous police chase. The two innocent 😇 bystander’s attorneys could then argue that the police should have deescalated the situation by not pursuing. At the end of the day, the ghetto lottery will prevail.

My kids get into the same sort of mischief on saturdays, except for stealing of cars, getting into high speed chases, and of course the total disregard for human life.

The vast majority of chases result in serious injury or death. Next, are the lawsuits and possible punitive damages. Then, a review of whether or not to charge the officer(s) by Crimesha. Finally, the option to strip and perhaps put officers in front of the police board in attempts to terminate. Is it really worth it, hard chargers? Knock it off, these pursuits are putting your lives and livelihoods at risk while picking winners of the ghetto lottery. Forewarned is fair warned and the city will continue to sacrifice the officers in these chases. Educate yourselves, COPA already recommended termination on a chase that one would argue wasn’t one.
