Preview of Illinois' Future
This is in Michigan. Do not doubt for a second it's coming here:
- Everywhere you turn, headlines scream about criminal justice “reform” and the need to change how we prosecute and punish people who break the law. But instead of moving toward positive change in the name of law and order, we’re essentially just redefining what constitutes an actual crime.
And this story out of Michigan is no different.
According to the Lansing City Pulse, Ingham County Prosecutor Carol Siemon is on a mission to empty her community’s local prison. And it’s starting with reviewing cases of convicted murderers who are currently serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Guess who she sounds like?
- “While I personally believe there are some people who should be in prison forever, like the Jeffrey Dahmer type of people, I just don’t believe in the death penalty,” Siemon says. “I think life in prison without parole functions in a similar way, and I think everyone should have an opportunity to be able to get out some day.”
So now she’s trying to commute their sentences. Reports said that with the help of former Assistant Attorney General Ron Emery, Siemon will begin a review of 90 inmates convicted of murder and sentenced to life behind bars. Critics are losing their minds. And for good reason. Because it’s not about guilt, Siemon says – it’s about progression and a potential change in character.
“It’s not whether or not they’re innocent,” Siemon said in an interview. “We’re not saying that. But if they committed a homicide 40 years ago, who are they now? And do they deserve another chance? To my knowledge, nobody else is doing this type of thing in the state. It has just been something rolling around in my head.”
This type of insane thinking permeates the left, pretty much from top-to-bottom. It completely ignores the victims, victims' families, and the safety of the community at large.
Should any of this crap come to pass, this idiot should be required to house the first two of those released into her home on a trial basis, just to see how it would all work out.

If you doubt that the United States is spinning out of control, you haven't been watching. They've devastated Europe and now it's our turn. Virginia just passed some really bad gun control laws and unless the Trump DOJ challenges them in court and wins, this nonsense will come to Illinois in just a couple of years if not sooner. The four Hoes (Thalib, AOC, Presley & Omar) of the apocalypse are just the beginning. This is not the country I grew up in and I'm quite disturbed I am going to have to leave my home here to move into a free state.

Don't underestimate one of the reasons, aside from a warm climate, that many residents of both Michigan and Illinois are moving to Texas or Florida. Both states keep that death row queue moving to the respective execution chambers at Huntsville (TX) and Starke (FL).

The Romans believe that life imprisonment was worst than death, so death was preferable. Smart Romans. If someone's released after 40 or 50 years in the clink, the world's changed. Work? Naw. They'll still be wards of the state, just in different housing.

I know a woman who is friends with a woman who had kids by Juan Ramirez after he got out on the Innocence Project (the guy who got a $20 million payday). I wasn’t privy to what types of talks this woman had with Ramirez’s baby mama , but one day this very educated North Shore woman said something very matter-of-fact like to me, “I suppose he probably did it, but he did spend 20 years in jail.” My response to her was, “Would 20 years be enough if it was your daughter?” She sat silent. I walked away. Where is their consideration of the victim’s family in any of this?

Everyone should have a chance to get out says she? Even 40yrs after a murder? And what of the victim and his/her family? After 40 yrs they should just get over it? If someone murdered her child would she allow them freedom after they've claimed to "change"? Being in prison a few years doesn't magically change some blood thirsty savage into an upstanding citizen. I'd argue the opposite - it only serves to educate them in more efficient ways of scamming the system and leaving them hungry to revel in exacting more pain upon an innocent to ease their own miserable and mostly useless existence. Throwing rotten apples into a barrel of more rotten apples and then expecting them to turn good is a fool's logic. But that pretty much sums up the progressive left's way of thinking.
Very simple test to determine if a homicide offender should be paroled from life in prison:
Can the victim get up and walk out of the cemetery? Nope.
Then no parole. No rehabilitating the offender, no sympathy for a murderer who’s been in for 40 years, no wondering what the offender is going through.
Because the victim, see, is still dead, still buried 6 feet down. Carol is worried about the murderer? What about the victim? How does the victim feel? What are the victim’s next of kin feeling?
Like Kimm, Carol seems to be an advocate for the offenders, but her job is to be an advocate for the state and the victims.

I’ll be one to say maybe for first time offenders of non-violent crime is okay to release should there be enough supporting reform or restitution progress is made while incarcerated. But having violent offenders released just because some elected, guilt ridden clueless nitwit say so or as a tool to boost the electorate, hell no.
And if certified public moron Simeon didn’t know by using an example of like-Dahmer, he isn’t in prison for life....he's dead and body was paroled for life by cremation twenty five years ago. Death penalty by any means works better than ill or no attempts of inmate reformation.

Neither come out after years of periods of sporadic attendance with any clue on how to conduct themselves socially or inclination to find any employment.
Just pass those empty prison funds over to half way houses and more programs because these ideas have been so successful in the past.
Good point SCC. Reminds me of my merit idea. Any exempt who wants to put a merit pick in for detective must first submit all the names of relatives, family and friends that live in the city. The exempt then agrees that if their relative, family or friend is a victim, their merit pick handles the case. I bet that would eliminate some dog ass choices.

Carol Siemon is nuts to think that she should review old homicide cases for potential release. Can the dead victims be released from their graves? Since the dead victims can't rejoin society, neither should the criminals be released into society. It's call consequences.

They had a punishment for fratricide. They would put you into a large sack with wild animals, then sew up the opening. I think that it was a wild hungry dog, a Cock, and a poisonous snake. Then they would throw you in a river. Weird, but I'm curious of the outcome.
They also knew that their soldiers, after 17 years of hacking up people with swords in the name of the empire, were no longer "good for town". They gave them farms, far away from the population. They knew very well that guys that have killed bunches of people are better off in isolation. In the US, they don't mind screwing you at the VA in the slightest.

If these people are released, there is a 100 percent chance that some of them will injure or kill someone. So these "reformers" are telling us that a few dead people are a price worth paying to demonstrate their virtue.

In Terre Haute,Indiana my SIL was brutally stabbed to death in the 80’s. In the 2000’s her boyfriend served half his sentence and was put out on parole. Nine months later in South Bend, he ravishingly ran over and backed over a person out of rage and killed them. This makes me sick.
