Low/No Bail Body Counts
- An Englewood man is charged with fatally shooting a 15-year-old boy while free on a recognizance bond and electronic monitoring as he awaited trial for allegedly possessing a stolen handgun.
And police say he was carrying another handgun when they arrested him last week.
It’s the latest in a string of violent crimes identified by CWBChicago that were allegedly committed by people who were on affordable bail while awaiting trial for gun crimes and other serious felonies.
Late last year, the CWB blog wrote a couple of articles showing Evans pretty much lied about there being no "horrible incidents" under the affordable bail program. The trouble was the dead bodies that were appearing on multiple occasions:
- 21 November, CWB blog documents three murders and two attempted murders under the Evans plan;
- 27 November, CWB blog reports another city murder and a suburban murder, both by people (or folks) out on bond.
But the main stream media won't touch the story, probably because they have too many spouses and relatives working for the County in different capacities.

The crime is everywhere even in decent places in the suburbs. There have been several car jacking in the Orland Park and Chicago Ridge areas lately. Crime is getting wayyyyy out of hand.

Hey SCC, this post is spot on correct. The only thing I take issue with is that you left out two of the primary architects of this low bond/no bond fiasco that is now bearing the results of more murder and mayhem: Toni Preckwinkle and Anne Burke. The general public is not aware of this but Toni Preckwinkle and Anne Burke (yes, the Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice who is married to indicted Ald. Ed Burke) were the original architects of “bond court reform” and the abolition of cash bail. They deserve to have their name up in neon lights every bit as much as Foxx and Evans. It’s their fault too. Foxx and Evans are merely their lackeys. Preckwinkle made Foxx and Burke used her position on the Illinois Supreme Court to beat Evans into submission by threatening to take away his control over the Circuit Court of Cook County. They shouldn’t be able to escape responsibility now. Then again, everyone who subscribes to a pro-crime, pro-criminal and anti-law enforcement agenda seem avoid responsibility for their destructive actions these days. Give Preckwinkle and Burke the notoriety they deserve here!

The trib had a front page stiry on crimes by the bonded out less than a week ago.
Let's not forget who started this whole "too many black and brown people in jail" and "let's empty the jails because of the budget" mess..........Phoni Toni Preckwinkle. Evans was normal until she tried to cut his staff by 140 people or so. So, he gives in with this affordable bail crap, HEY, no layoffs! And here we are today. I often wonder about that budget. Nobody seems to be in jail anymore so why are there 9 million sheriffs and 800 prosecutors? Sadly after getting trounced in the mayoral race will compel Phoni to run again for board president as she will NOT go out quietly after being rejected en masse. And for some reason she'll win again. And foxx ain't going nowhere until Uncle Tony is gone, sad to say. It's disgusting.

I remember I sat in Luckman's court room once in my career. I was never an Area 3 guy. A whole litany of middle-aged street-type black guys who were pinched for felony shoplifting. Each one he asked "Will you go to Walgreen's again? I don't want you to go to Walgreen's again. You don't need a prescription filled at Walgree's>" "No" - "NO PROBABLE CAUSE." Then a strangely clean-cut middle aged white guy comes up for stealing from some sports store down town. Granted it was like $800 if I remember correctly, so it was a good amount. "Finding of PROBABLE CAUSE."

When you look at the major incidents on I-Clear, it is painfully obvious that in about 80% of the crimes of violence in this city either the victim or offender (sometimes both) is either out on bond, out on parole, or should still be fighting a case that the state decided not to prosecute.
It’s obvious that police are doing their jobs and arresting the right individuals, but the politicians, CCSAO and IDOC fail at their piece of the puzzle.
It would be nice if the politicians, CCSAO, and IDOC would begin to care about minorities becoming victims of violence and dying at the hands of predators that have proven they cannot function in a peaceful society and should be in custody so as not to hurt anyone.

When and if they get out they will do their shopping on Michigan Ave
The Tribune actually did a detailed story Thursday showing Evans undercounted homicides committed by people on bond. He says 3, Trib says 21. Also armed robberies committed by people out on bond for armed robbery are up 61%.
What dead people? There’s nothing to see here. Move along.

State's Attorney Kimmie Fox, Chief Judge Timothy Evan's and Sheriff's Tom Dart are all enforcing want is known as population control. They probably have some crazy profit going on with the funeral homes.
