How about talk to Lt Fenner for 5 minutes and if you believe she should be in command of anything, then you put out a PAX 501 saying you interviewed the new CO of MAUI and you stand by the decision. How about this. Open the application process for Lt's who wish to interview for the spot and then select her if she's that good.

Why is this so shocking? They promoted S.K. to a high ranking position of Deputy Chief of Strategic Initiatives Division. Most people never even heard of this unit let alone promoting someone who has none (whatsoever) supervisory background. He knows nothing about Chicago, he literally is a Deputy Chief over like 10-12 people. Talk about transparency some more because he was nowhere on the command change promotional list that came out? How did this guy get this position? Qualifications? Political ties? Friend of someone?
How about her qualifications to run maiu? Has she ever worked in the unit? Has she ever even done a traffic crash report? So sick of people getting spots that are unqualified for them. There’s not a Lt on the department that used to work in maiu that would be more qualified to run that unit? How bout Beck handing these spots out too? Same old shit. He can’t stand up to the Chicago way and do what’s right. He just caves into the political pressure and gives the community whatever they want. Just like all the ones before him. Place is a joke.
As long as she’s as good as Dennis Walsh it’ll be fine. Wait. That didn’t happen cuz Walsh was touchy feelie the week before he was supposed to get that Gold Star.

The last good boss Major Accidents had was Jerry Carroll. That was about 15 years ago. I was working there the year he totally disregarded the whole furlough selection process and he made sure everyone got a summer furlough and a decent second pick! He was a stand up boss who took care of his people. I remember how one of our traffic specialist was critically injured in an off duty traffic accident On Christmas Eve and He was at the hospital on Christmas Day and everyday after that for weeks checking on J.C. He wasn’t even our boss when that happened! I understand Jerry is fighting cancer now. Your in my prayers boss!

It's been said before, Sabih Khan's ONLY connection is Maurice Claussen. He's never supervised anyone and quit his job as a law enforcement officer because he was "faking" his way as an expert in Tableau, you don't need any expertise in computer applications (tableau) they are self explanatory and very easy to understand. He was an assistant director up until now, why is he a Deputy Chief? Beck don't give in to this bullshit!!
It's a plum do-nothing position which is hard to screw up.
When I was there, most of the investigators were competent and self motivated. The unit is basically run by the sergeants.
No doubt this nitwit probably never wrote a PI crash let
alone a fatal. Their reports can be Just as or more involved than D supps.
Did they ever get their D3 status? It's very much deserved and was a travesty
that the dept denied them for so long

There should be competency tests for Unit assignments to verify those bloated résumés. A good indication of competence is showing up prompt and early with at least one sharpened #2 lead pencil on exam day, a borrowed one doesn’t count.
Being on time and seated in the testing room isn’t that important as is that sharp pencil and mind.
That being said,
I challenge Loot’Wheezie to answer my unofficial (open book) MAI Unit 608 entrance exam from 2016 :
Part 1 (limit 30 minutes):
1) What is the difference between a Traffic Crash and a Traffic Jam and a Traffic Jelly?

This is really unfortunate given the position. When police officers get severely injured, or killed, in accidents, these are the officers responding to do a thorough investigation. It should be run by a competent boss overseeing competent detectives. I was almost killed in an accident off duty, due to a careless driver not paying attention. I teetered on the verge of death, and when major accidents was notified by responding officers, they refused to come out. I would like to think if it was run by better bosses, they would have made sure they came out to investigate.

You hit the nail right on the head. SK himself knows the gig won’t last forever and has said out of his own mouth that he’s gonna milk it for as long as he can. He’s a deputy chief in name only. Given to him by someone for whatever reason. Perhaps to reward him for his loyalty. Regardless SK gets paid at civilian director-grade. The order naming him a director came out in December. Same with the female civilian deputy chief of the Reform Unit. Deputy chief in name only to blow smoke in people’s faces and boss people around but gets paid as a director.
Focus on the useless directors like rob. Robin. G.brks. who graduated duke and can't spell. This is in addition to many dep chiefs extra commanders and and pillows promotion. More same ole situation. Thought mayor was going to fix this B.S. if you are a spy and go back to mayors office you think you secured your high rank. Actually that will catch up with you! You will rat on the wrong person who has something (s) on you. All in due time.

I worked in MAIU and what I learned is that a majority of the victims were in the wrong place at the wrong time
hit by a DUI driver or some shitbird that shouldn’t have been driving in the first place. I’m not talking about the person out funnin, a real productive person killed by an asshole. I hope someone that you love doesn’t get run over someone because nothing important happens in MAIU anyhow.
Go ask Jonathan Ho’s family if his life didn’t matter jag off.
