Cop Shooter Makes Bail
This isn't just judicial incompetence - we're pretty sure it's a deliberate "fuck you" to the CPD officers who put their lives on the line:
- Interim Chicago police Supt. Charlie Beck says he’s furious that a man accused of shooting an officer in 2018 was allowed to go free on bail.
“To release somebody that is suspected and charged with attempted murder on a police officer for a low amount of bail is outrageous,” Beck told the Chicago Sun-Times.
Officer Fernando Soto saw Bryce Jones-Lanum holding what looked like a gun while crossing 87th Street and Ashland Avenue on Nov. 20, 2018, police say. As he ran, Jones-Lanum pointed a .38-caliber revolver at Soto, and they exchanged fire, police say.
Soto escaped with a bruise after being shot in the back of his protective vest. Jones-Lanum, who’s now 22, was wounded.
Jones-Lanum initially was held without bail. But at a hearing in October Cook County Circuit Judge Diana Kenworthy granted him bail of $50,000, and he posted the required 10% bond to be released until trial.
“This is what my job is, to some — to make these hard calls,” the judge said, according to a transcript of the hearing.
Again, for the record, there is not a single judge in Cook County worthy of a retention vote. None. Zero. Until we start seeing some push back by their peers (which, by the way, is what libtards demand of every cop) then every single judge should be voted out. We don't care if they get reappointed later to cover shortages. Replace 80 or 100 judges every election cycle, and in two or four years, replace those 80 or 100 again.

The time has come for a federal monitor for Cook County judges. Preferably one appointed by the most Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of these United States, to weed out the corruption and political agenda driven madness. Federal oversight is a key to rooting out corruption and holding judges accountable. (The federal monitor must be a Conservative Republican since all Cook County Judges are plugged with the progressive democrat party. So many of those in powerful elected positions pulling the strings under democrat rule are under federal indictment/ information. The appointment from an independent outsider is key to success.)
In addition,its time to install an independent police office of judicial accountability staffed by both retired and active police officer from patrol not phone call connected units under the rank of sergeant to oversee judicial conduct and judicial decision making. And require any accusation whether sustained, exonerated or unfounded to published to publicly shame the judicial and smear their reputation so their grandchildren could read about any and all allegations whether they have merit or not. Kind of like a visible institute for judicial conduct.
Federal monitor reports should be included in these publications to allow sunshine to disinfect the judiciary on a scale of a Corona virus like response to adequately address the lack of justice and soft on criminal accountability rulings in Cook County. After all, which democrat isn't for transparency, accountability, special counsel investigations and oversight of their absolute monopoly in government?

They raised the threshold for the amount required in retail theft felony charges. They cut closed police stations and cut manpower in again, the higher tax paying neighborhoods. They voluntarily submitted the police department to the constraints of an unfounded consent decree which serves no purpose other than stopping any real proactive practices of law enforcement and encouraging criminal behavior. In fact, the only people they are interested in prosecuting and incarcerating are police officers who try to do their jobs in good faith.

Is Chiampas still on the bench? Someone told me they thought she retired. I really hope she is still on the bench. I will vote for her too.
But one article says the perpetrator’s family and friends wrote 26 nice letters to the judge. All 10,000 police officers should NOW write a letter to the same judge stating why he should still be in prison. FOP should orchestrate the whole process so the police get their point across. Why do you pay union dues to this POS organization? They are useless. Even anonymous letters would suffice. Judge should be required to relocate to Englewood and live there so she can see how her decisions are affecting people.

You want them appointed? It'd be just as bad - you only need to look at our state's Chief Justice.
Wasn't judicial retention in 2018? Judges are running countywide, statewide and in subcircuits, in 2020.
There are some decent judges who deserve our support. The FOP should provide a list of pro police, pro law enforcement judges. Not judges who happen to be related to police who get an automatic thumbs up.
Help out robbery victims. Help people whose house was burglarized. That’s it. Stop policing the gangs, playing the dope game. Take care of ourselves. Be safe.

The Republican Ballot has 1 judge running,
The Democratic Ballot has judicial choices for every slot and

I'm going to disagree about all judges being bad. I've found Peggy Chiampas and Diane Cannon to be great judges. They will always have my vote and support.
But I do agree the majority of judges should hit the bricks after a few years. Term limits for judges.
I remember Riverview Park well. The latter years' fights were White vs. White, Black vs. Black, White vs. Black and Black vs. White. The fights weren't exclusively Black vs. White.
Help out robbery victims. Help people whose house was burglarized. That’s it. Stop policing the gangs, playing the dope game. Take care of ourselves. Be safe.
