Well since they are unloading the jail of the criminals why not have the homeless stay there instead of paying the hotels $175.00 a head for them to stay in downtown hotels. Plus it will be easier to clean after the mess they will create.

This is Fuckwinkle Foxx Evan And Darts plan. They want to reduce the population of the jail as low as they can. Anyway they can! Besides the problems occurring with this. I ask this question. The county budget gives toupee Tommy a budget for the the jail. This budgeted amount has increased every year. Yet the population of the jail has decreased every year. Population at one time was over 12,000. Now it is probably closer to 5,000. He has closed 4 divisions. Buildings are empty. No salaries, no food, medical, clothes, maintenance. So my question is where is this money going?? The same question can be asked in the courts. Haven’t hired a deputy in 13 years. Now he takes correctional officers to courts. But at times there are one deputy assigned to 5 court rooms on different floors. I’m asking. If there are any media trolls that might want to dive in to toupee Tommy’s budgets over his way to long time in office.
Who screened these “ non violent “ prisoners? How many of them were put in isolation before being released? So now we have arising crime rate possibility and an increased chance of a spread of the virus. Maybe they should have interred them at dart’s house? And some with Evans and Cabrini Kim’s? They could have bought them pizzas.

At peak when I worked at jail there was about 12,500 early 2000s. Believe me even at that number there may have been about 500 you could safety release. Vast majority had multiple arrests, including violent. Now they have 4,000 and are lowering it. Is Sheriff nuts! Rhetorical question.

When I heard this I got up and made sure all my doors were locked. I understand they don't want the jails crowded but I do not trust Fox, Dart and friends not to let violent criminals out, their track record sucks. I don't even like guns but I was wishing I had one.

IT might make you madder, and it might not be the case in Cook County. but in most US counties , the Sheriff gets to keep what he does not spend.
Read in Tribune today they are having hearing at Juvenile Court to get the kids released to protect them. Then it states there have been no cases of the virus in the juvenile detention facility. Makes no sense
