FOP Election Counting Delayed
No reason not to vote. HOWEVER...

The election committee voted 3-0 to delay counting the ballots for president. The firm running things needs quite a few people to ensure the integrity of the election (I heard up to twenty three people). Add that into the higher than normal number of people who want to be present for the count at the Hall, you are running into a crowd well in excess of the governor's restrictions.
We're assuming the ballots will be left secured in the PO Box that they go to and counted at a later date. We don't know how this affects the other elected members, nor in-person voting that would have taken place on the last day of deadline.
Here's to hoping all parties involved work together to get the membership through the emergency and into arbitration in one piece.

Other people were elected and those elected must be put into the offices they were chosen for.
Keep in mind alot of the old guard was voted out.
So the new guards can bring up at board meeting the following:
Is new election board needed?
IS Aguilars employment contract being extended?
IS Donahue still being employed
Should retiree hold any offices????
Should they set a date for election we are in contract talks i believe?
And all you person filling up your dad jeans as trustee start doing some work!
YOU can delay election but those 1st 2nd and 3rd vice presidents will be coming in and they all dream of one day being famous like Prieb and Murray were for a term.
Folks running union are not the brightest bulbs on the tree. Should have went to arbitration last year during the best economy in 50 years. Now the City will loose out on hundreds of millions in tax revenue due to Corvid-19 hysteria. City was lumbering towards insolvency. Corvid-19 has changed it to a solid gallop towards insolvency.
When will I get my ballot?
The more I listen to JCat the more I realize he’s a clown with serious issues and should not be our president. His latest videos are alarming and just his answers gives an insight into the person. Vision team winner posted that something to the tune of April 7 I take my oath and will continue to support JCat and our vision. JCat response was “actually” you are sworn in two weeks earlier. Like wtf is he talking about. He took a supportive tweet from a teammate to “show” how smart he is and act like he is important and all knowing. He prob corrects spelling grammar in texts too. I admit he had my vote early on as I appreciated someone who wasn’t scared of the brass. Now with more exposure, this guy is a complete goof and would be a disaster as president.
Anyone see Cat crying and acting like a child. His video of him getting a CR bc an old timer beat him up sums him up perfectly. Surrounds himself with the likes of O’toole and Cantore, company yes man who will do anything for power and influence. I’m no graham fan but it’s obvious who we need to finish this contract and beyond.

Got a mailer from Graham Friday! Was to late to be effective. The three man election committee was appointed by Graham. I don’t trust him not to try to get Donahue and Aguilar spots before the new board has a chance to give a thumbs up or down on his picks.
The Governor’s decree has an exemption for “critical union business” if anyone read the whole thing. There was no reason to postpone counting of the ballots except to get Graham another board meeting to pull some Donahue B.S..
Get to arbitration ha, it has been 4+ months and they can't even pick an arbitrator. With everything going on that is likely to not happen for months. What a shit show.

We should be outraged. Too many members will not vote thinking that postponement means they have time and can just vote when suspension is lifted. If they vote at all. All member both active and retired, mail in your ballots ASAP!
Lots of opinions back and forth. I think its safe to say that 99.5% of coppers are angry at FOP and want it to work better for all of us. That same 99.5% have no idea how the office runs or who really would be effective as a field Rep. Alot of us just vote for people we know. You look at your ballot and say "good guy" and you vote. Problem with that is when you vote for a buddy or friend you have to ask yourself is he intelligent enough and organized enough to be able to read and break down case law, know all the general orders and be able to have an intelligent conversation. You deal with politicians and lawyers who have worked for the city for years. Sometimes coppers jobs are on the line and suspension time as well. If you walk in and try banging heads you will lose. I think you will see a change with the new crew but it may not be the change you were hoping for. Catanzara has done a fabulous job at portraying himself as someone who cares about coppers. But when you look a little deeper he has a problem. Himself.
Catazara will demand a recount and file a lawsuit if he losesmark my words. This guy is not a stable person.He seems to have a personality disorder and if he doesn't get his way,he takes his ball and bat and goes home. I HEARD HIS LIFE COACH IS DAVE SAVINI.

Received my mail in ballot for the election...yesterday. I wouldn't count on using mail in as a reliable way to vote.

Everyone of the constitutional officers of the lodge needs to seated immediately. They need to sit on Kevin until the ballots are counted. Kevin should not be able to make any decisions w/o the majority consent of the three vice presidents. If they have to put a banquet table somewhere so the four of them can sit together so be it. I have no faith in Kevin not to have Donahue making every decision for Kevin. ABSOLUTELY no contracts to be signed until the ballots are counted!
Waiting for the new 5% for 5 year contract we will be awarded with either of these idiots in charge.

They are 1/3rd of the membership. If they get elected shame on us. But they are the ones who do the protests, show at city council meetings, go to pension board meetings...And they have the knowledge that we won’t get by showing up for 5 meetings. How did that Shields thing work out?

I hope they set there sights higher than Murray. Owned by the 11th ward. He got into a heated argument with me when at a Unit Rep meeting when I said I would never vote for Bill Daley for Mayor. Marty was a one trick pony. Like Tom Cruise in “Days of Thunder” who admits he knew nothing about cars, Marty knows nothing about being the police either.

You elected me for the new board. Our vision will be implemented. Graham's election meddling will not be tolerated. Think about it, Graham is not allowing for new board members to be trained up. When congress is elected they have a 1 month transition/orientation before being sworn in.
You elected smart and/or energetic people to the board. The ones that are smart will monitor the ones with energy. The ones with energy will motivate the ones that are smart. It's a good vision board with broad experience.

The “needing someone new” mentality led to Shields and he led to the worst FOP President in our history, the incompetent and schemer Angelo, who sold out the membership for his son. We lost the 0% Insurance premium and Dury Pay for new police officers. The loss of Duty Pay directly costs millions lost in pension contributions.
Don’t make the same mistake again and vote in a loose cannon with no proven track record of negotiating anything!

I live in Florida , am retired and a member of FOP and never received a ballot. I received one the first but not the runoff. Guess its the Chicago way in FOP too.
So wait, you can be in call back and still be the president of a union ? What kinda bylaws are in place. So if this guy gets fired he can still be the president ? I get it Angelo was president but he was on disability and then clears for full duty.

Imagine if this goof gets fired and it’s still president like he says is possible. I’m sure at that point he will work for the members and not he spiteful. But his history proves he will get CR’s, complain/cry, and instead of hitting the medical bc he’s fired and can’t will run the lodge into the ground. How have we come to this? Our leadership has been so bad we yearn for change. But a lying unstable medical abusing CR initiating hack of a policeman?

JCAT has gotten dozens of CR numbers because of his behavior in the department. He’s a medical abuser and a scammer. He dogs his jobs, disrespects his fellow coppers commonly and if you wear a white shirt you can’t tell him anything. He thinks he is the end all be all of this department and he has a personal life that is in shambles because of a well know significant other who commonly associated with gang bangers for the right price. He’s filthy and he’s trying to by his time with his current case because he knows he’s gone. He gets FOP and they can’t get him yet until he’s done. He gets a few more years of a salary and health benefits and he Resigns just before his term is out and he has the 55 and out. That’s his angle and that’s his scam for this. He can only do president because he know that if he gets any other office he will not be brought inside and that doesn’t help his situation. The only thing that will help him is for pres. he hasn’t ran in 25 years and now he is because he’s got one step into the floor into the police board. He’s straight up trash.
I think it’s hilarious that he is openly saying how he is campaigning just like trump. It’s fine, I’m a trump guy but he is telling people that cops love trump and that he needs to associate himself fully with trump and be outspoken and say things like trump so coppers will elect him because “that’s the only thing coppers will eat up.” And I hate to say it but it’s 100 percent true. These kids who don’t actually know him love his videos and associate him with trump and think he’s awesome because he’s loud. Now, take a guy with me with over 20 years who has worked with this guy and I know that he’s a lazy dog with a loud mouth and a sketchy background who should have been fired for a lot of off duty stuff involving questionable things with HIGHLY questionable people.. people who you and I.. the working police have worked years to put in jail. His associations are what is scary and it’s as anti police as they come. He’s not one of us, trust me.

Is Marty Preib working the street again, or is he working at the hotel? I heard Marty's ego was crushed when he lost the election, and "Elvis/Marty" has left the FOP building. Donahue has led to the fall of many members of the FOP hierarchy. Marty is another victim of Donahue.
Marty should write a book about it. Maybe the title could be, "FOPMAN"?

We pulled your file and found it happened because you were always twice the copper as compared to others, so shut your trap and return both ballots. It is the Chicago way!
Who cares that JC has some CR’s. People with big mouths get them because they don’t follow orders from goofs. That’s who we need big mouth, loud voice. Too many snowflakes on the Department Feel the burn supporters. Let them feel the burn.

Rahm was only fearful of one person during his tenure and that person was a loud and boisterous union leader named Karen Lewis. I see some of that in JC. Kevin lost his chance when the teachers got their raise. While he procrastinated, the treasury was emptied. JC all the way.
