Days Off Cancelled

But only for this weekend (so far) and no 12-hour shifts yet.

Governor Fat-ass has ordered a "soft lock-down:"
  • Now Gov. J.B. Pritzker is ordering all residents to stay at home beginning Saturday, in the most serious effort yet to combat the spread of the coronavirus in Illinois.

Pritzker issued the stay-at-home order alongside Mayor Lori Lightfoot Friday afternoon...

    [...]

“Essential services” like grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations will stay open, as Pritzker has said, but most other places that don’t sell food or medicine are expected to be shut down.
Just a word of warning - this emergency is playing havoc with all our schedules. We are as susceptible to the vagarities of the Department as all of the readers are. Comments are going to be moderated sporadically, postings may be delayed. There might even be an evening or two where nothing gets posted at all. Shit happens.

A soft lock down is about as effective as half a chubby. It's like the Baltimore mayor asking their shitheads to stop killing each other. How are Democrats this dumb? Is there a virus that affects only liberal Democrats? We need that purge.

im in the trades and spent time in heavy industry and the city. we work 7 days a week for months at a time with no days off allowed. no sick days personal days nothing. everything runs lean and you must be there. this is usually in the winter in mills and refinerys and blizzards like 79. point is 12 hour shifts run your body down, especially nites where you never see the sun, people burn out, make deadly mistakes and everybody gets sick. in our business like yours nobody cares. however we work with healthy people and dont have to contact the scum of the earth. do the minimum, get plenty of rest and nutrition, and give them nothing to hurt your longterm health and sanity. they are clueless and i think even the brain dead democrats are starting to see that. this too shall pass and make sure you are whole when it does. stay safe.

There is no civil unrest. Zero. Why start burning us out already when u don’t need to. Now you’ll have a whole big portion of the department working 10 straight days without a day off. I find it absolute dumb and unnecessary at this point. We know there might come a point where we need to work our rdo’s, but not yet. Conserve. Save us. Lee is healthy until that point comes.

Just a reminder to keep your hands to yourself. Not just when interacting with the public, but also goes for the department vehicles and facilities. Can’t trust the prior or present crew to not contaminate surfaces, i.e. the det. The department and city can’t furnish cleaning products, consider bringing your own.

So far one officer infected and five CFD.

Off Topic, but may I ask a question? If an Officer is allowed to submit a To From to get an inside spot, because they are susceptible to COVOID, are they also available to daily breathalyzer tests? HIPPA is waived. If contact with public is bad, obviously alcohol to a diabetic is worse. Ask the 3rd watch Sgt that was a complete pussy in 019 to do this! Fucking straight up drunk

Let tire out the Officers working without a day off...more contact with the public and less time with the family....again!!! All for what? To tell people to stay home?? Fuck you I'm just going to be running to the bank these next several weeks. $$$$

So are the weed shops open? Selling their medicine? Crickets right! But then again we have to keep people getting high so they do not realize what is going on and they will again vote for the Democrats.

Burning out officers before the fun and games really begin is not a good plan. People will start to go crazy in a few weeks when the weather moderates some more. You will have a tired group of officers who will also to be more susceptible to getting sick.

absolutely f'n moronic! Can and should have mobile units on 'standby' meaning be ready to answer the phone for deployment but no need at this 'first nite' to cancel days off. We're not in Marshall Law Lock down, right ')
So save our crews for when the antsy itch of mischief begins to brew in these tired misunderstood cps yutes

This is another asinine idea from idiots they have no clue how to control absolutely anything. They use the Chicago police officers like they are expendable which to them we are. Make sure you stay hydrated, make sure you eat the proper foods, make sure you wipe down the patrol vehicle steering wheel, doorhandles computer gearshift knob radio knobs Absolutely everything. We all know keep your hands clean keep your hands off your face, make sure you bring a nice iPad so you can watch Netflix or you see somebody on the street walking wave to them smile go back to your whole.

I would like to thank those SEIU members and teachers who worked so diligently endangering themselves at the polls to get the democrat empire vote out. The citizens admire you for working the polls despite your absence from the schools after calling in sick and getting paid to boot. Next contract look forward to working less days with a 20% pay increase. Mission accomplished!

Drove by Binny’s in Evergreen Park yesterday afternoon. The line was out the door and snaked down 95th St. Was actually pretty proud of those alcoholics the way they were practicing social distancing. There was a solid 5 feet or so between each one of them. Not that I’m much better than them but I sure won’t stand in line to save a buck a case for beer when I know Jewel will still sell alcohol.
Anyway, just wanted to spread some good news in these times of woe. Liquor stores ARE considered an essential business and will remain open for the duration of the crisis. So relax my friends, no need to stand in line in this cold weather. This too shall pass.

worked a real job one day of his life telling me what’s best for my
business and health
They love to throw numbers around to support their agenda
Well here’s some
From the World health organization a few days ago
Confirmed cases approx 260,000
Deaths around 11,000 give or take
World population: 7.57 BILLION
DO THE MATH
Hasn’t even come close to the regular flu
The game is afoot

Another blunder by the Toad Princes and the LA Flash. We have absolutely no confidence in their leadership. They are buffoons and bunglers at best.

You have "hosed us" over consistently, no support, disrespected us and no contract. That is no way to run a city and/or treat any group - especially first responders. So Beck, Malinowski, Fred, Pillows and the rest of the HQ's slugs get out there and serve the public. Earn your salary for a change. Let you and your families feel the fear and uncertainty. BTW: Fuck your clout. You get what you deserve.

Exactly. It's a bad flu, if that at all.
I heard Advocate Hospitals closed their testing lanes because no one was testing positive.

One big game, yes. You are spot on.
Research the 2 tabletop exercises on pandemics that was done right before this alleged so called plague fell upon us,
Designed to scare the shit out of people, on purpose.
One by Bill Gates (titled Event 201) the other by the Trump administration right before he took office.

You heard wrong. They announced Friday its because of a national shortage of test kits and processing materials

From today’s Tribune

Days after it began to ramp up drive-thru testing for patients who may be infected with the novel coronavirus, the Advocate Aurora Health hospital system announced Friday that it has suspended that program because of a national shortage of test kits and processing materials.
