I was listening to NPR last week (yes I know, NPR, but I like the world news segment) and they had a Dallas copper on there talking about how Brown fired alot of coppers down there. He was known for firing coppers.

So far he has talked with people about the pursuit policy and they are throwing around getting rid of the pursuit report all together. The only way that a pursuit will be documented is on the SPAR system. So if there is a pursuit a spar is immediately initiated and the details of the pursuit are documented by the supervisor with the officer then responding with their reasoning and justification in the attached to/from. Also, foot pursuits are on the way out. Only a foot pursuit for an observed felony offense that is not narcotics or theft related. No more running because of a hunch or instinct that someone may have something on them. As in Dallas, the officer must immediately say over the radio what the felony offense is they are chasing them for and it has to be assigned a supervisor. If it does not fit the criteria for a foot pursuit then it is to be immediately terminated. If an arrest results from the foot chase a separate foot chase report gets done, much like a TRR report format which is submitted. It then gets sent to the force review unit who reviews the reports and send back any actions if it doesn’t fit the criteria. The guys in Dallas say it’s an absolute shit show when a foot chase happens. Nobody gets out of the car anymore so it doesn’t really happen. Officers in Dallas have taken time for violating it when it was first rolled out. You also can’t play the “he’s running for UUW” because of it’s not on the body cam then there will be a rule 14 issue because you are reporting to a supervisor when you give the reason for the chase. So be aware, foot chases and vehicle pursuits are done. Also, the pursuit police is a ZERO pursuit police.. even for shots fired at a police officer, homicide, kidnapping etc. so 011 and 007 hotshots use your heads if that’s possible to do.
Why are they going ahead with the new areas? Maybe to short districts of sergeants and lieutenants? Why did they go ahead with promotions when they have no new recruits? Who makes these idiotic decisions? Officer safety? Officer well-being? Accountability?

So many major cities are cutting back employees because so many taxpayers are being laid off but not here in the city of Chicago they’re keeping everybody on the payroll from the teachers who are having parades throughout the neighborhoods Flonting they are not working look at us to all the rest of the employees called cook county the other day to get some information but they have an answering service from out of state and was told that nobody in the county is working but they’re all being paid just like the city and state while police officers firefighters paramedics are working their asses off and they are all sitting home what about this mayor Governor and cook county President?

So true thousands at home full pay,and don’t get the laid off jobless started on the “look at us” teachers parades on west end of 008, police escorts speeding through disregarding all traffic laws beeping horns and laughing guess they are to good to be in the classrooms remote (lol) so-called teaching, another of loris failures! I saw on television that the bike unit lined up and then saluted Beck as he left headquarters. He was in civilian clothes. If we are going to be a professional para-military organization we dont salute people in civilian clothes. This also happened when the Lt's class made in 2014 when Wysinger came into the classroom to give out their assignments. The new Lt's were called to attention for a plainclothed Wysinger. There is no way you are a cop! If you are I feel sorry for those who have to work with you. One of the only pleasures left on the job is when a citizen/restaurant/store owner recognizes your service with some kind gesture. Cops on the street now are faced with unbelievable challenges not only from a law enforcement perspective but also from this pandemic. Get over it that you aren't smart enough or have enough time on the job to work in an area where the police are still appreciated.

As long as this city continues to elect ultra liberal mayors with an anti-police bias/bent & the mayor appoints the Supe, do you ever think you’ll have a Superintendent that actually cares about his police force? You have exempts that only care about themselves & their “yes” men, side pieces, drinking buddy/frat brothers etc. Of course merit (aka clout not actual earned merit) will be back. Everything in this city is based on favors, clout & nepotism- not hard work. That’s why it’s a flipping mess most of the time. You have 10% in positions of responsibility that actually know what they are doing. The other 90% are inept petty tyrants or useless wastes that will collect a gold braid pension. But those 90% are never held accountable for failures. Not one member of CPD above rank of sergeant fell in the Laquan McDonald incident, not one. In fact EJ was made Superintendent. Each boss in that incident knew what happened yet remained silent. Only lowly POes and a couple of sergeants with no clout were thrown under the bus. ABOLISH THE MERIT SYSTEM! It’s sole intention is to destroy the strength of us as a bargaining unit!

Dumb idea, especially here. Do that and then it would be someone like Foxx, someone even more of a SJW than the political influenced sups the city has had. The reason the city has Le Groot is because people stayed home and didn't bother to vote in the general election. But the folks would sure be mobilized to vote for a BLM type Sup. You can bet on it.

If you are smart, play it very low key until to get a sense of what this guy Brown is all about.It was interesting to see somewhat of a pushback in 011 over obviously illegal arrests for standing on a public corner. You must obey a direct order of a superior officer, but you certainly can demand they sign the complaints and go to court. When you sign a criminal complaint you are swearing that what is in that complaint is true. If it is not, do not sign. Let the WC release the person. Make sure you put in any reports that you did this under orders and put the name of the person giving the orders

Was outside the other day observe the same thing loud horn’s people disrespecting other people all the teachers just racing through the neighborhood families some of them outside being startled by all of this nonsense, why aren’t they working why can’t they may be working the police stations helping out the police officers doing some kind of administrative work since they obviously don’t have enough to do where they’re not in the schools the schools still have the stationary engineers in there keeping their systems going they could be in their classrooms doing something but nope they’re going to go around and prayed and show everyone that they can do whatever they want with full pay and benefitsNow that they canceled the rest of the school year nice they can sit on their asses some more New York light off 50% of the employees they do nothing and the mayor here the county the state are still paying the full pay and benefits what a slap in the face to the hard-working people that are now laid off with nothing for Benefits!

Thank You John Catanzara and Commander Larry Snelling: there is a guy who goes around antagonizing the police and fire department personnel. Many of you know who I am talking about because this alleged “media” personnel goes around various districts and areas in chicago along with the surrounding suburbs.
Shame on this alleged “media” personnel who had his credentials made at kinkos to do this during this pandemic and still going around trying to bait the police into acting unprofessional which rarely ever happens if any.
This alleged “media” personnel went into the 008th district and tried to bait the police once again but to his surprise John Catanzara was there and John very professionally stood up to the baiter! John Catanzara every chance he gets speaks up for US and comes to our defense! We wish that the video can be shown but this alleged “media” personnel took it down from YouTube because John stood up to him and this alleged “media” personnel likes to be the bully but he failed on this day. If anyone has it post it please.
John Catanzara time and time again has stood up for US and he will continue to do so if elected for fop president. If you did not mail in your vote please go in person on April 30, 2020. People say this and that about John but at least he is willing to be a VOICE for US.

Not sure of any teacher layoffs, but the rest of what you are saying is a real possibility. I just do not see full classrooms until Spring of 2021. I was thinking of half of the students in the morning and the other half in the afternoon with a lot of remote learning. However, the definition of " learning"has been stretched in the public school systems over the years. I taught at the city college level and at Chicago State for almost 10 years. The level of knowledge and skills Chicago Public school students brought to the classroom was shockingly low. College had to become remedial .

Funny, I do not recall ever saluting anyone who was not in uniform or ever while indoors unless underarms or reporting . I do recall showing respect using the proper title andd recognition and standing up when a superior entered the room. And, yes I spent a lot of time in the military.
