Diluted Soaps?

We've gotten a couple of e-mails about the soaps being provided by whatever politically connected janitorial firm is currently "cleaning the stations:"
  • SCC, No idea who to complain to, but the soaps in the mens bathrooms in [...] are so watered down that it dissolves in your hands before it even lathers up. There is no way it's getting anyone actually clean. Someone is either stealing it or trying to make it last longer because there isn't any to be had.
We wouldn't know who to even complain to.

Yeah not surprised. Also the officers in 311 that are in the academy, are not in the gym but computer labs. Definitely not 6ft apart, everyone is about 2ft away from each other. The feds in the gym have the nice setup of over 6ft apart. WTF.

The lather, or bubbles, of soap are present due to ingredients added for visual purposes only. Doesn’t mean the soap is working or not. I’m not saying the city isn’t pulling some nonsense, simply pointing out a commonly used marketing ploy.

You have no idea if the soap is doing any good if you don’t know what’s in it. Years ago in 025 they were putting the liquid floor cleaner/stripper in the soap dispensers. After a few days everybody’s hands were burning and it wasn't until one of the guys caught the janitor putting the stuff in the dispenser. Then there was no soap.

The YMCA where is used to work out
(before this mass house arrest)
tried to use the same type of "green" soap in the showers.
(absolutely NO lather)
Due to complaints it was finally discontinued.

Don't be surprised by the "stealing" theory.
A few medical people have been diverting masks/gloves
for family members. Some, a few albeit.
Grocery shopping one day (last Friday): surprised at the
amount of "connected people" wearing top-notch masks.
Disclaimer: If you're like me and have done DIY paint/auto
work, you already have masks around the house.
Solution: Buy the BIGGEST "refill size" of any dishwashing
liquid you can find (people usually shun this size). Very
inexpensive considering volume. Get a small squeeze bottle
and carry your own to work.

No one gives a shit! We are lucky to have anything remotely resembling soap right now. I remember a few years ago when toilet paper was a luxury. Think about those few times a year that there’s absolutely no copier paper. This city is horrible at budgeting in every capacity. Everything this city buys is on the lowest end. Staples that jam (cheapest) copy paper that jams (cheapest), lowest end computers, lowest end in car stuff, shitty Tahoes. CPD historically buys up the shit that other departments are phasing out. We are never at the forefront of anything. Soap being thinned out. What’s the big surprise. Some connected janitorial company is holding back for a larger profit.
