Nice Parking Garage

Just in time for the re-opening of Area Four:

This chunk of drain pipe just missed crushing two officers walking to their cars.

The pipe was probably loosened by a lifted Jeep with a blue line Punisher tire cover, an FOP medallion on the LE Memorial plate, and a checkered hat band on the mirror.

Has anyone really taken a good look at that garage? The structure looks incredibly dangerous. It appears as though it could collapse at any time possibly crushing or trapping any police officers that are in there. I wouldn’t park in there. Especially in the lower level.

#2 Is it essential?

Looks safe to me! The pipe fell, gravity worked and the floor stopped it. What more do you want? Greedy bastards!

This is Chicago after all... Be grateful the gravity worked per normal since David 'the Moon Shooter' Brown is now here.

The Moon's gravity is 1/6th (16.7%) of the Earth's gravity after all...

I have heard of some down and out persons 'hitting the pipe' and ruining their lives as a result. I think is is another sort pipe hitting, a different variety.

So much fun in Chicago!

Too bad the pipe did not land on a plastic bag on the ground... If it did, that would make it a bagpipe.

The jokes are as high quality as the installation of and the metal in the parking garage pipes themselves folks. Chicago way!

venecko plumbing and undertaking will be on the scene monday morning. under her worship groots new unlimited, unrestricted, absolute and total emergency powers a ten million dollar no bid contract has been issued to fix that pipe. venecko plumbing issued a statement that it should be fixed by noon, the only limiting factor being how long it takes the two homeless guys to get the new plastic pipe from the home depot on north avenue to the area on their shopping cart. a spokesperson for the mayor said failure is not an option and the safety of our polices is our highest priority.

That could have been an ugly accident. It's almost as if the parking lot is a CHA high rise, gotta look up as you enter or get hit in the head by falling objects. I nearly caught one in the head walking into Stateway Gardens, 1997. The job was still an adventure back then, a young copper actually looked forward to going to work. Now, not at all.

Some inspectional services outfit this city has, which by the way is suppose to be regularly checking outdoor parking structures, tunnels, bridges. Wonder who signed off on that.

Many years of going to court there, I would park and cut through the district. I refused to use the staircase made of grates because I thought it was going to collapse like a bad, rusty fireescape. I would walk down the ramps. Some people gave me dirty looks because they had to wait for 30 seconds. I'd make sure no one was pulling in. A couple of times I got some dirty looks when someone flew into the lot and they had to wait about 15 seconds.

Retired

NOTHING TO SEE HERE!! Now back to important issues... NOBODY is to have more than 1 locker in the locker room, final notice! Also, NOBODY but Spencer's front office harem are allowed to park on the ground level of the garage! Those spots are reserved solely for the front office girls (once most of them get back from "IOD" from covid) Amazing how such shitty little things make useless fucks feel important.
