Sorry My idea previous post I stated they should take all of the Police from the academy and HQ “the useless know it all” and Surge them. As said in previous post they are doing nothing in the districts. They sent back the range guys Dealing Dave’s got to qualify.

I have had the unfortunate pleasure of taking part in the Area 2 "surge" multiple times over the past week. I have to say that I have NEVER witnessed a more stupid thing to take place in this department in my entire career. Who is the complete moron behind this? Districts have been absolutely drained of Supervisors and manpower to do these ridiculous surges all over the Area. Literally driving around in circles in a box only to change boxes every 45 minutes or so. Absolute stupid shit! And the boss behind this is a complete idiot.

Tact guys don’t handle paper jobs, part of being on tact, same with gang enforcement, gang investigations, narcotics (or what’s left of it), K-9, detectives, ATC guys, task forces, etc. Lots of people don’t handle paper jobs. Tired of handling paper jobs? there should be no police officers assigned to headquarters , most are performing duties of civilians , supervising civilians . Federal consent decree must only apply to beat , tactical units that are making street stops .
One supervisor for an entire district , merit promotions , rank of captain (no responsibilities) maybe checking movies , stock portfolios .

It’s also a danger to the public. The police have emergency equipment activated and they’re not responding to an emergency. It’s confusing to motorists. Who’s getting sued when an innocent motorist gets hurt in a car accident? The POs driving the cars are on the hook.
Every time they plan on putting house mouses on the street, the medical leave gets bigger, hmm.. I wonder if there is a correlation.
Yeah down in 004 a few cars and a sergeant are pulled away for a couple hours during a RAP. And 004 has a huge shortage in supervision to begin with. The idea of taking all of those desk personnel and putting them into a " surge unit" to send to high crime areas on the South and West sides is just laughable. Most of them will be too afraid to roll down their windows or drive at less then 40 MPH.

In some places, tact guys and gals ARE rushing to domestics.... because the pickings on the street are pretty slim ...
some also rush to "holding the offender" calls at local grocery.... easy arrest, 8 officers on the arrest report plus the sgt and lt, and it's a Part I.
My favorite line from a tact officer: a bag-of-weed-a-day keeps the beat car away.
This is not to insult the tact officers who actually work investigations, write search warrants, etc., but you also know that these officers are carrying alot of dead weight. Look around the tact office next time they are on an arrest-- 2 to 3 officers doing the work while 5-6 are watching the internet or eating up all the snacks.
You don't really think that the new Downtown Brown is really going to sit a a computer to get certified as a Chicago Po Po do you? Me myself I really don't feel the need to do that just a course on City ordinances, once the police you should have common sense, we hope.

ya know what else tact doesn't do? work(with a few exceptions) straight shifts. when was the last time you rotated? (don't bring up duty availability, unless you're gonna to give yours up for working straight shifts)
know what else tact doesn't do? get reimbursed under the contract for start time changes over 2 hours.
Know what else? doesn't plan on many days off during the summer due to the killing season, the festival season, or (insert name here)protest in 001 or 018.
there pro's and cons' to everything on this job.
