Speaking of Planning Ahead

Why doesn't the Department active the Gas Teams?

You want to clear a corner, a street, a park, nothing worked better than the old Gas Teams that would drive up, hose down a corner, and drive off to the next one. It cleared thousands off the street during the Bulls riots without any permanent aftereffects.

It would take some balls to give the order, and we're pretty sure balls are in short supply among the command staff these days.

There are a few who remember though. They have a week or two to test the equipment and train up a few squads before it really gets warm.

Eddie King gives the order to “gas these N _ _ _ _ _ S” !!

My mouth almost hit the floor when a Deputy - as black as Mississippi mud - gave us that order. But I quickly realized that he knew what had to be done to get the situation under control. He didn’t see color or the possible ramifications of dealing with same. He just knew what had to be done and spoke in a language everyone involved understood.

We handled business and moved on to the next corner that needed attention.

RIP Eddie King. RIP “the real police”.

However, it would be too likely to put the good guys into the Twilight Zone, aka the ultimate clusterfuck. This is lethal contagion shit. Without an effective vaccine, we can't rule out Armageddon!

God bless the doctors and nurses. But when it comes to "frontline", it's the PO-leese. The City Hall muthafuckas won't even give us a contract with at least a 20 percent raise plus hazardous duty pay for street cops in certain districts. Stay well (and fetal) and go home to your loved ones.

So true worked bulls riots a true leader Jimmy Maurer took coppers from battling the savage on 16 th street off the battlefield and ordered gas teams to clear the street and like rats they fled peace restored simple, humane police not hurt, but that took leadership something we definitely are lacking, then look over here:

Fewer Drivers And Passengers Mean New Realities For Chicago Transportation Agencies
https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/fewer-drivers-and-passengers-mean-new-realities-for-chicago-transportation-agencies/2266447/

Excerpt: CTA ridership is down about 80% from its normal levels,” said the agency’s Brian Steele. “We’re actually seeing a bigger ridership drop on the rail side from the bus side.”

To put that in numbers, the CTA normally carries about 1.5 million riders, roughly the population of the city of Philadelphia. Today, those numbers come closer to 200,000 customers.

But unlike Metra, the CTA has not cut service.

“We are an essential service,” Steele said. “We are not a front line emergency responder, but we are the service that helps those people get to their jobs.”

Not only has CTA’s service been differentiated as more point-to-point than long haul commute, transit officials said they felt it was important to maintain existing routes, to avoid packing passengers into buses and trains.

“That provides the best environment for social distancing,” Steele told NBC 5. “When you have trains coming every few minutes, and you only have a handful of people riding, then that means there will be adequate space on the train or bus for passengers to spread out and maintain that distance.”

But that luxury comes at a cost.

The CTA estimates their farebox hit at a million dollars a day. Combined with sales tax losses, the agency is expected to face a shortfall this year alone of over $551 million.

“We’re still in the midst of this pandemic,” Steele said. “We don’t yet know what the full financial impact will be.”

*so everyone else has cut due to massive revenue declines and extremely less ridership but not Lori who is wasting billions, not only that but cities have furloughed employees New York for example about 50% while the corruption filled state city county is still paying full pay and benefits as they sit home, how about a “ haircut” you know mayor like you got for some of the minions? The tax bill will be astronomical due to the malfeasance of the elected! And police fire busting their asses no contract no extra hazardous pay!

Watched how the punk kid made you mayor and your security details plus the weak superintendent turn tail and flee after being admonished by an 11 year old, tells a truth of cowardice! Leaders lead your obviously not a leader just a poseurs talk the talk but cannot walk that walk, why you be scared of your people?

I think having the CFD hose down the corner with their vehicle mounted monitor would be a better method. Not direct streams, arc it in to the crowds to thoroughly douse everyone. Need more water? Hook into the hydrants.

It is still cool enough at night that everyone will likely go home to change their wet, cold, and clammy clothes. Isn't that the goal? Get people to go home?

Best of all? It ain't the CPD doing it.

Who cares!? The less sgts the better. I'm an adult. I don't need to be babysat. A sgt. that leaves me alone doesn't get summoned for every little question. I don't mess up to get requests for supervisors, etc. The best sgts are the ones you see only at roll call and then at checkoff. A busy sgt tends to stay out of your business. They're planning on making far too many sgts for P.O.'s. It creates too much conflict between methods, personalities etc. Should be 1 sgt. per sector. Period.
40 cars for that 1 sgt. Will keep him/her busy just logging cars and keep them from looking for BS things to enforce. A GOOD sgt that has the respect of their people can handle all those cars because those cars should try everything in their power not to make work for that sgt. Now if you're a stroke of a sgt. then you get what you deserve.

The posts about the late and revered Eddie King
are the muthahfuckin' TRUTH!

We would dare to say that he was the biggest
and baddest mofo to ever wear a CPD Gold Star
and on top of that, was a genuinely decent man
AND boss who would NEVER go out of his way to
hurt working Policemen.

We were privileged to have a sit down
with the man...

"How are you? How's your Dad? Tell him I said hello..."

A LONG time ago but we still remember it fondly...

Unlike like these New Jackson gilded exempt CAPONS
(castrated male chickens) running around looking
for some poor slob Policeman to flex their Gold Star
at/make an example of cuz they "be a boss an' shit."

"HAH! I has successfully SUPERVISED YOU!"
>Fart-Noise<

Or as we remember one ignant-ass m/fer in 011
loudly proclaiming: "I RUN this raggedy muthafuckah!"

>People walking by paying his ignant ass no nevermind<

A REAL boss earns BOSS STATUS by his actions and how
he leads, teaches/coaches, set the example for his
subordinates.

A REAL boss earns BOSS STATUS by praising and rewarding
the good work done by his subordinates.

A REAL boss takes wayward subordinates aside
and corrects/disciplines them FAIRLY
away from prying eyes.

A talentless, insecure less-than likes to loudly
yell at and berate their subordinates under the
guise of "supervision."

Heh...

We've seen lotsa "supervisors"...

We've seen some bosses too...

But oh Sweet Lord we've seen a precious
rare few who rated being called BOSS
during our Chicago Police Sojourn.

Oh well...

Since "selfish" self-preservation is the current
theme of Policing in Chicago?

Kind of OT: so Area Central had COVID testing for both the virus & antibody. From what I can tell, have not heard of a single incident that came back as a positive for either. Despite multiple people in office testing positive & of course losing Sgt. Martin to the virus. One detective later tested positive after Roseland came out. I don’t think it was thru Roseland. I myself had no test results sent in an envelope...no envelope at all. I guess this was the case for many. I called Roseland numerous times, that took persistence since no one there seems to know how to answer a phone. In one call, the person was able to look me up in the system, but said I had no test results listed. Said she’d call me back, that of course never happened. Finally, after another dozen or so calls the next day, I get thru again and I’m negative/negative. I can almost guarantee I had COVID-19 (based on symptoms alone) back in January with a good portion of my co-workers. What kind of scam is Roseland running with the city or are they really just that inept?

Gas teams are unnecessary. People within most crowds on the west side inevitably start shooting one another, thereby dispersing themselves. Sun Tzu was a brilliant military strategist who wrote, “Never interfere with an enemy while he is in the process of destroying himself.”

Biggest mistake was closing schools. Yes, Chicago employees the highest paid babysitters in our nation, but it got the job done. A significant of kids would attend school. Now, CPS announces it will give all those uneducated kids an "A" class-grade, nonetheless, simply for still breathing, for winter and spring terms, whether "schoolwork" was done, or not done. You GAS them, and they can't get promoted to next grade, right? Onward and upward, even if the students can't read a newspaper, can't make change, can't function at a college freshman-level upon graduation.

And yes, I'm not referring to the dozen or so CPS high schools that still provide a modicum of education to their students, or those elite CPS high schools that cherry-pick the top students, skimming the cream off top, choosing the pick of the litter, to proclaim education as a mandate provided equally to all.

Interesting, I took the same test at Central and never received an envelope with my results either. I was sick with symptoms in early February that resembled Covid, so I thought it was possible I’d already had it as well. I need to call over there in the next couple days and get my “results”. And here I was thinking that the city was trying to do something proactive for us, but they’re likely in cahoots with Roseland.

Eddie King was revered, respected and admired by all who knew him. He had an unmatched testicular fortitude. He loved the working police officer. He still has my respect. Eddie King's aura alone would have made Urkel piss his pants.

The heroes of old, Tom Walton (PR Riots), Joe McCarthy, Elijah Cook, Big Jim Mauer, Eddie King, Fred Rice, - (most of time, saved many a white coppers job & last real supt of police.) 80 percent of black bosses, many unsung real police. The trash knew their asses were grass.

Zeros - Mostly annotated 11th.ward clout who were never seen or heard from bosses. All drunks.

Present -Mostly a very limit number of sgt's or a very few Lt'. Captains- LAO.

Harold was the last of big Chicago mayors that had a few fault and became loved by the white ethnic on the s/s and n/s. He hated Lil Richie for always being a dunce states attorney and a man....period. Rahm and Larry.... minus 100 million zero'.

Maaaannnn...

We fondly recall the "We send you duly sworn GREETINGS
in the name of the (muthafuckin') LAW from the CITIZENS
of the great state of Illinois and the city of Chicago..."

That we conjured forth in the stairwells and breezeways
of ABLA, Rockwell, Horner, Ogden Courts and the corners,
sidewalks, alleys and back lots of 010, 011, 012 and 013.

That ol' reliable, nigh unbreakable, 6-cell "C" Kel-Lite...

"Y'all ain't takin' ME to jail!"
>Strikes "Put Up Yer Dukes" Pose<

>WHAP! THUMP! THUD! CLOBBER!<

And the lovely sound of an errant ass hitting the floor
of the old "breach-loader" wagon...

Paying no heed to the aggrieved crying,
cursing and vows to "get even."

Adult "bad baby" properly gets that ass danked on.

And for a brief moment in time, the world was
a little bit better place...

At least let The Police have the old fashioned
circa 1900-1920 baton made of Cocobolo, Teak,
Ironwood etc. instead of these garbage-wood
things the uniform stores are full of.

A stout leather thong with a quick detach swivel.

>The neighborhood flatfoot whistling a merry
tune while making that baton dance<

Heh...
Why do people go all kinds of crazy
when a Copper lawfully and rightfully
lays some braying donkey out?

Just FYI: when you call ask for the COVID unit otherwise you get bounced around A LOT. By the way, I really wanted to know results as I started to feel sick last week, almost allergy like, by the weekend I was exhausted & had massive headache. I skated around days off prior etc but didn’t feel comfortable going to work until I knew. So I went and got an in car test at an immediate care facility and tested positive. Could I have contracted it after Roseland test, it’s possible but the timing is close.

CPS better lay off 2/3 of teachers in September , if elearning works so good . Hire more teacher assistants to monitor rooms while children learn on a computer .
1 teacher per 99 children .
The Nuns had over 40 kids per class room and the children learned , no discipline problems , did homework , could read and write . Oh Yeah , no security guards , on duty cpd or metal detectors were necessary . One big difference , children respected teachers , parents , children were from two parent homes , Mom made breakfast , packed lunch . No safe passage workers needed , we walked to school , had recess , some walked home for lunch . No wilding on the way to , from school , like in the ghetto , police were not required at dismissal .

20 years ago, I ran a convenience store way down South in the Ghetto- North Gulfport , Mississippi. Most months it is hot there. I used to keep the AC temperature set at 60-65 degrees. Before I got there , that store used to lose $2000 a month to "shrinkage" i.e. - Shoplifting , after I started running it and doing that the shrinkage fell to less than $200 a month. "Criminals" don't like cold. Plus it kept the candy fresher. Such temperatures are advised
even on the packages. That is how I defended my temp settings to higher management. They could not argue with my phenomenal sales or with the shrinkage reduction , I ran while managing the place. I also played rock and roll but that is beside the point. LOL

I was on tact in 002 in late 80s, Commander King came to the tact office and said that Chief Elijah had just called him because his wife was complaining about the large gathering at 53rd and Indiana she had to pass by on the way home from grocery shopping. Commander King said “I want you guys to do whatever it takes to clear 53rd & Indiana, big reefer spot back then, I’ll take care of the rest”. Sure enough, it was double-up day, and we went for the freebies. Great time was had by all! Commander King was the best. He was my boss at White Sox park also.

Let me mention this. The original call from the US attorney was made to that thief Cline. That puss flustered and passed the call to King, who told the Ausa to go fuck himself and hung up.
