Seven Cops Hurt
No kryptonite on scene? Because they were obviously trying to subdue Superman:
- Seven Chicago police officers were injured during a brawl with a man who refused to leave a South Loop business on Saturday morning.
The situation took place shortly after 11 a.m. in the 1300 block of South Wabash Avenue. Officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the lobby of the business, where someone complained that the suspect, a man, would not leave when asked to. A fight broke out when the suspect began fighting with the officers, one of whom injured his shoulder and knee and had to be taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Six other officers had minor injuries and were treated on the scene, police said.
Get well soon Officers.

"Seven Cops Hurt"
What the hell have they been teaching for
control tactics of late?
"How to Take An Assailant Into
Custody Without Injuring Him,
Hurting His Feelings or Causing
Alarm and Concern to the Public?"
Or did the Coppers in question do
a better job of hurting each other
than hurting the assailant?
Like back in the day...
There was ALWAYS some loose cannon
hot-headed idiot who ALWAYS managed
to lay another Copper's noggin open
with a Kel-Lite in a melee situation.
One such idiot famously got fed
a Kel-Lite in response by the
Copper he beaned.
Not EVERYBODY has to jump in.
Ok?
Full Recovery to all...
Jesus Christ
Welcome to Armageddon!
JCat FOP Step Up??????????????
Not Superman, just a zebra that used to be in the army...
I’d bet any money that deescalation, force mitigation, and procedural justice probably played a part in the injuries. I hope no officer hesitated or second guessed them self when faced with an assailant.
A pretty sad situation here. Cops beat down by mayor, COPA, the revruns, aclu and judges, can’t do their job and wind up getting hurt.
Slow the fuck down when going to these calls. Back off at first sign of trouble and summons a white shirt. Let them put their neck on the chopping block. Fuck these assholes and go home alive and safe.
had the the officers been part of the surge and sent to the west side they would not have been hurt. the surge tactic would have worked in this incident. next.
Maybe all officers need to be trained in Actual control techniques, not the trash baby stuff they teach in the academy.
Chicago cops who’ve been paying any attention have clearly been made to understand that if they defend themselves adequately they will likely end up in jail. So this is the result. Here, we are in the end times of policing.
18 % raise for teachers
Take your time getting well.
hear you got a new FOP president. has quite the resume as the slun times described as oft-disciplined.
Catanzara was stripped of his police powers and assigned to administrative duty for filing a police report against now-fired police Supt. Eddie Johnson after Johnson marched arm-in-arm with the Rev. Michael Pfleger on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
Three years ago, Catanzara was reprimanded for posting a picture of himself on social media dressed in his police uniform holding an American flag and a homemade sign that read, “I stand for the anthem. I love the American flag. I support my President and the Second Amendment.”
hope you give that no good copa bitch all the hell you can muster. good luck.
wow, makes me ill'

Every single one of these nitwits were first and foremost a CPS student. CPS is still the number one manufacturer of mentally retarded murderers, thieves and scalawags. It takes 12 years to make one, but some only 9 or 10.
That was Derrick King's old stomping ground. He was arrested about a hundred times right there for being the world's most aggressive panhandler. All you had to do was say "NO" and the game was on!! Richie's wife demanded that the liquor store there be shut down in an attempt to disperse the crowds that would gather, but it had no effect. They are simply tied to the land there. In 300 years if there are still mutts prowling the area, there will gather at Roosevelt and Wabash.
Chuck Norris in town? Hope all turn out ok.
I hope That there is a video of this! Could the problem be the type of people who are allowed to become police offers? My useless partner was able to fall asleep even before I drove out of the lot in the squad car. I hit every pothole I could find, but nothing worked. They sent her to the academy and she was back back at "work" after a couple of months. She must have other qualities that I didn't recognize.
Was there a wooden baton on the scene?
Now, kees me you fool!!!!

So when you hear fellow officers calling for help or 10-1 you are going to "slow the fuck down?" I was on for 32 years and never called for a white shirt on the street. I made my own decisions. Hope you never need help out there......
Swipe in, swipe out, UNBELIEVABLE
Thankless occupation!
Remind anyone of a young man with super-human strength, high on PCP, in 2014?
Did the offender go to the hospital? Was he zipped up? If not,? He will do it again. A fight is a fight anything goes. I wish I was there I love that shit!!! Get we’ll officers !
It's pathetic our wonderful Police cannot adequately do their jobs due to all the politicians and civil liberties bleeding hearts shackling their hands. Officers are completely unsure as to what to do anymore for fear of retribution. Stay fetal as long as you can for your own safety and sanity. I'm a CPD Devotee and am completely on your side. Please stay safe!!!
But will he or the officers be charged?
Good news of course is that the mutt wasnt injured.
cant have that now can we larry?
When I was new on the job we had a guy who was a former army Green Beret that he played for the Chicago fire semi pro football team 66 weight about to 270 V tapered body hi on cocaine solid muscle, domestic disturbance the fight was on even using the old reliable key lights and nightsticks took about seven or eight of us to get him in cuffs, then he broke because the chain in the center actually shattered, then we finally get Recuffed get them into the wagon laying down. We thought at this point we did it good job none of us went to the hospital but we were battered, then he was violently kicking at the door what happened next was incredible the door hinge broke the door was hanging I will say it was an older wagon it was rusted fight was back on again finally got him into another wagon got him into the station throw Him and his cell, he fell sleep about 4 hours later check off time, Went into the cell area he was there he seemed a little better he said he had no clue what happened last thing he remembers he was out having a good time at a bar woke up at home and then he woke up here he had no history of anything I thought was maybe somebody gave him some stuff that he didn’t realize what it was and he flipped totally up
Some mother fuckers are bad and can hurt a few coppers in the fight but in the end said mother fuckers go to the hospital then jail! Don’t be afraid to hurt the offender who is hell bent on hurting you. Fuck them! You want to hurt me? Whatever it takes!! Give me my CR you cocksuckers I’ll tell you what I did and why I did it. When the offender stops fighting the fight is over until then, fuck him or her: better them then you ! Always been my rule! Retired 014
I’d rather be in call back then to take a beating from anyone. I wasn’t there and I know shit happens fast but I will ask, did the offender go to the hospital for the injuries he sustained in the fight? If not we’ll that will tell you a lot. Get we’ll officers!

Your statement seems to come the closet to the truth. Not necessarily in jail, but surely suspended or stripped pending discharge. The liberals do not want the cops to actually hit someone, i.e. punch, use a baton on vulnerable parts . Cops must wrestle the subject down and subdue him/her. Yes, do not forget that the Chicago Public School teachers get to stay home in safety and they got a huge raise, pay next to nothing in their pensions and now will get the Summer off ( off from what I might add). Then add on the teacher's union hates you
the entire 2nd watch in 001st district exposed to covid19 positive arrestee and hepatitis guy all in same day? LT orders physical arrest to be made (apparently complaint books aren’t being used anymore) and tells POs to bring into the station! turns out that guy has the virus and knew all while being a jag with officers..... later on about half the police dept shows up to get one nut in handcuffs and that guy has hepatitis.. not to mention there was 1 sergeant (some sort of consent decree violation), bunch of coppers working for free cuz no overtime? injured po’s and offender at hospital and no boss present for hours? meanwhile it seems like each day gets crazier and crazier while criminals and mentals are operating with no rules causing severe harm to citizens and policeman... when this is all over, there needs to be a mass incarceration. drinking on the public way, CB number. smoking in the bus stop, CB number, you name it, CB number. eventually this will all pass and things will go back to the way they need to be..
we will get by, we will survive

Sounds like the CTA bus accident where everyone jumps on the bus after it gets hit.
“... where someone complained that the suspect, a man, would not leave...”
– sounds like the DNC complaining again on or about November 3, 2020.
Anyway, CookCo has the Covid’s No Jail policy. The storage facility obviously wasn’t schooled about CookCo protections of the disruptive, disobedient, and destructive privileges.
Call the bouncers for private bidness, whom should should of known better.
Sure would like to know what started the fracas with the management. Lock out for non payment? Payroll dispute? Living out of a storage box? Had to be bullshit.
Those poe-leece should all be getting $1000 ANOVs for not social distancing after they get out of they’ hospitals (39,993 will be hospitalized if we don’t act deceive now).
Backing each other up is important, getting involved in bad business practices should be left to the parties involved until both can come to their own resolution.

Sounds like a guy that couldn't even get 55% on the promotional test. You will make great fixed post material, enjoy your heartburn.
Seven coppers hurt and no mention of this shithead going to the hospital for treatment??? Back in the day he would of got a major PHD (and I'm not talking a degree). So glad I'm retired three years and living in the south. Be safe troops
This is a result of the academy training.
What are you talking about 1:05am! “Summon a white shirt”, “Let them put their neck on the line”. Don’t know any details of this situation but when a fight has started with PO’s or a Sgt, it’s fucking go time. Doesn’t matter who is there or how it started. We all stick together because we are our only protection. And we better do what is needed so we all go home the same way we came into work. Recover at your own rate PO.
Anybody have pepper spray or a Taser??
Pure luck, officeses. No IOD for the rest of us :(
Get pushed, fall down, spend summer IOD. What don't you understand? Rev Al

Maybe all officers need to be trained in Actual control techniques, not the trash baby stuff they teach in the academy.
I do not blame them for teaching that in the academy, or for cops who hesitate to put the hurt in someone who clearly needs it. I was a Cook County Sheriff's deputy, correctional officer, before this job. They taught you how to defend yourself with kicks, and other things, practiced one to two hours a day. CPD made fun of CCSheriff's Academy training, but I think all of their training was much better. But people think that's too aggressive. But that's better than being hurt. Many of the citizen's who criticize, probably have not been in a fight for a good long time. I know I haven't. But I do not criticize cops' actions.
The cps teachers say they are stressed being out of seeing
seeing the freaky w/s lies acting out. They demand another
18 % for stress. The commie union want a $ 200. A month
To cover their internet speed and forgoing their lunch at home.
Commie vermin’s
The suspect was 57yrs old yet he managed to physically injure 7 officers? Maybe he really was Superman?!
Like usual, a ton of armchair-quarterbacking going on here.
Officers, get well soon and don't come back until you're 100%.
Know your rights and don't let the Medical Section bully you. Read up on the orders, they're your friends.
A famous Renton once said, “Chicago’s liberal policing style, coming home to roost”. Get well Officers. 20 years ago, he would have been a hospital transport in 15-seconds. New age policing. De-escalation might work in some cases, but not with the mindset of the 2020 arch criminal living in this progressive liberal city.
When someone does NOT want to go, or does NOT want to be arrested,
it can end up like this.....whether effects of alcohol, drugs, or mental illness,
I have seen and felt the pain of trying to get someone like that under control.
Worse time of all was a 5’8” skinny kid....high on ???
Finally 6 of us got him handcuffed, and into the wagon.....
Got to the station, we are all at the back of the wagon, we open the door,
And out jumps this crazy guy who had broken apart the handcuffs!
Again, the fight was on.....took another 5 minutes to just get him down and carried
into the lockup......
So be easy on yesterday’s coppers.....it does happen....no matter how much training
you have....
Of course they got hurt the alleged offender wasnt a hundred thirty five pound rational middle aged female hair salon Owner trying to do her job ! Very sad all the way around.Folks this is out of hand and not good .Lightfoot says she wants "tuff "social distancing ushers controlling public spaces We pay for, well The People of Chicago want Tuff Intelligent Police Officers to Protect Themselves and Us!
These days we are in a lose lose situation...watch this prick sue and get a settlement....there is no law anymore.....Glad to be retired
this comment’s from another post but scary stuff indeed
Curious who will be backing up the 3,300 CDC Contact Tracers Pritzker plans to hire when shit goes sideways. Family members forcibly removed from their homes for not having enough toilets. Separating parents, kids to a quarantined facility.
Will this now be CPD problem to enforce? Is this why the National Guard tanks appeared in Chicago 2 months ago? How many ways can this go wrong?
At 1:30 is when the plans for these Contact Tracers really gets spicy
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=97BEMNN4DV0&feature=youtu.be
They should have done what mayor did - walk away at any sign of confrontation. The new and improved CPD. The said part is that this piece of shit will sue that somehow officers failed to de-escalate the situation after being trained to do so. Also, expect Crime-esha to drop all charges.
Someone finally used their taser. Another fine example of how messed up the new use of force is.
“Back sir” and “stop resisting sir” along with kids who grew up with their heads buried in iPads = seven cops getting hurt. There are not many real police left on this job. When fighting it’s exactly that... a fight. If the fight is on you may punch someone in the face.. for that matter punch them square in the nose. There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying on a TRR that you punched an offender during a fight. If you are loosing the fight then you better start winning the fight and not with department trained BS holding techniques and verbal judo.. punch someone and it will be articulated and justified on your TRR when you explain the totality of circumstances. This is pathetic. Learn to throw a punch kids or several punches at that. If it was ever justified to do so THIS is the exact case. The CPD has gotten soft as a pillow. I’m not saying to be a hard guy to beat everyone up.. it’s 2020, you can’t do that but in a brawl like this when you have body cameras showing this guy fighting and injuring officers during a fight then get down and dirty.. it’s justified and on camera.. do your thing and articulate why and ISE the video to your benefit.
Back in the day, the standard issue “sap” would have calmed down the gentleman.
Where is the picture of the assailant ?
Nah, throw a parade for the teachers instead. Hit the IOD, I suggest back issues. See ya in August!
Lot of shit talkers here. He was tased 3X and it still took 7 coppers to cuff him. He was just a cockstrong mental case. Stop criticizing if you weren't there. Asshats
Taser , pepper spray followed up with baton and asp .

I’ll bet Kimmy wouldn’t even consider felony charges....... the asshole probably I bonded out before officers were even done being checked out at hospital.
We live in a really fucked up tune in so, so many ways.
Be careful and try to be safe and always remember to take care of #1..... cause the politicians and the department certainly aren’t going to look out for you.
You can only de- escalate so much.
Tase him !
whoever was arrested.....he will be out of jail in short order, then....watch what happens when they try to arrest him again
Suggested Solutions: (1) 24 inch cocobolo batons (2) sap gloves ( about 4 ounces of powdered lead sewn in across back of each glove (3) chain “ twister” ( put chain around wrist and twist)

Yeah Ive been having problems finding a banana peel of late.
7? Ok, not playing hero here but, cooome on. No taser, no OC, no baton?. Sad, they all grow beards but if comes to a fight they are afraid.

I don't think so. They need the new "Jaws " control technique.
"Don't get out of the boat" "
Or you'll be getting eaten on Youtube
So 7 cops injured by 1 offender, what are they being taught, how much time on the job and do they know or are they capable of defending themselves. Was this offender so out of control or has super strength, spent 40 years out there and yes, had some scrapes but not by just one offender. Are you people that afraid of those body cameras that you are willing to be so demoralized by taking a beating.
Maybe all officers need to be trained in Actual control techniques, not the trash baby stuff they teach in the academy.
5/10/2020 02:13:00 AM
Scary thought that the minimal training in the academy is what was relied upon. Once upon a time potential recruits had been through years of contact sports and/or military experience. Whatever is crammed through the limitations of the academy training schedule is not going to do more that indicate the preferred methods of escalation. We all know that reality isn't the same. Really hate to think that anyone goes into the field with nothing more than a combatitive module under their belt. No one teaches biting, spitting and scratching there.
All the best to those recovering. One question pops into mind, what about covid status?
Im so glad that the teachers got an 18% raise. It’s awesome. They deserve it. Being home all year and all.
For the idiot who said call a white shirt, grow a pair. You’re a grown adult. Make a decision. You’ve been trained and now when and how to use force, time as a tactic, verbal judo, end everything else under the sun when it comes to controlling a situation. No need to second guess what the officers on scene did or didn’t do. Has the current atmosphere effected how officers respond? Yes! It’s unfortunate that we all second guess our actions sometimes but don’t beat up on officers by talking shit. We are our own worst enemy sometimes. If they made mistakes on scene I sure someone already corrected them. Hope everyone recovers without any permanent damage.
Tasers, pepper spray, expandable batons one offender. How does this happen? Seemed so easy in the academy and what about deescalation.
The Academy used to have a class for recruits, Mechanics of an Arrest. It taught you how to take someone down, disarm them and cuff them. Knowing how to Mix It Up, with someone saved many from unnecessary injury. It taught recruits how to fight.
This is the result of politically correct hiring and promotion practices. Cops can't control the situation because hiring and training standards are lowered to foster "inclusion" in the ranks; thus the quality of force plummets. Same thing in CFD. Buildings that were once saved, or "stopped" from burning by competent, courageous firefighters, now elevate to extra alarms and burn to the ground because of the poor, lowered quality of force being hired and "passed" through the academy...next subject?

Step up and do what? Show them how to make an arrest? He wasn't there. They tried to get him to leave the easy way by trying to reason with this guy for over forty-five minutes before deciding they had to arrest him. At least felony charges were approved.
If the public really knew what we deal with day in and day out...can't wait to retire from this shit!

Disability for getting into a fight with an arrestee. A real jackpot
Old Retired Guy, Here, Again !!! Let me chime in on this one. I'm not, and never was much of a tough guy. Just did what, "Had To Be Done" at the time. That wooden baton saved my a--, many times, in many ways. Would not leave the car without it.
Don't know if it's still part of your equipment.
That sounds like a mental that smoked some pcp laced weed~
I've fought my entire life and was one of 8-10 officers injured from one offender back in the 90's. PCP is a wonderful thing. We beat the shit out of this guy where his parents felt it.
Didn't matter. Broke flex cuffs we had around his ankles type strength. I wasn't there for this episode so can't Monday morning quarterback what did or did not happen. We have become "soft" as a department (due to policy and public perception) and very few of us actually train for the job we have. I'd bet $$$ that if they took a survey in the academy of how many new officers have ever been in a fist-fight, I'm guessing with this new generation, it would be below 30%.
Always easy to back seat drive a situation unless your there... Stay safe everyone and get better
Was he wearing a mask?
I wouldn't judge until I see the video or get firsthand details. This world ain't what it used to be. It would've been perfectly fine to give this jagoff a pumpkin head back in the day. Today? He'll probably sue even though he wasn't injured AND WIN.
Jim Marsh would demonstrate how to take a man down, on you!! Then you would know something.
Back in the old days, this punk wouldn't be walking. Time's are not the same anymore!
A smart feller could jigger this around to fit Chicago or Illinois politics. Just change the titles and names...
The Plan
In the beginning was The Plan.
And then came the assumptions.
And the assumptions were without form.
And the plan was without substance.
And darkness came upon the face of the workers.
And they spoke amongst themselves saying:
"It is a crock, and it stinketh mightily."
And the workers went unto their Supervisors and said,
"It is a pail of dung, and none may abide the odor therefore."
And the Supervisors went unto their Managers saying,
"It is a container of excrement, and it is very strong,
such that none may abide by it."
And the Managers went unto their Directors saying,
"It is a vessel for fertilizer, and none can abide by its strength."
And the Directors spoke amongst themselves, saying to one another,
"It contains that which aids plant growth, and is very strong."
And the Directors went unto the Vice Presidents saying,
"It promotes growth, and it is very powerful."
And the Vice Presidents went unto the President saying unto him,
"This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigor
of the company, with very powerful effects."
And the President looked upon The Plan and saw that it was good.
And the Plan became Policy.
This is how (SH-)IT happens.
My brother-in-law use to tell me about Texas, "Don't Mess With TEXAS". I told him here it's, "Don't FUCK with Illinois"!!!
Sorry to ruin all the jagoff armchair quarterback’s day but dude was tased THREE separate times and kept up the fight!
He had more prongs sticking outta him than a fondue plate. The officers did the best they could with what they’re allowed to do!
So if you weren’t there lay off and stick your head back up your ass!
7 police officer sent to the hospital and how much time do you think they had on the job? I mean the suspect was in his late 50's. Who was he, John Rambo?
I hope they had complaints signed first. IOD❗️❗️❗️$$$
Mother's Day Night 1990 - 30 Years Ago
Officers Gregory HAUSER and Raymond KILROY, 25th District.
REST IN PEACE
I bet that not only would less cops have been injured but the suspect would have probably been less injured if the proper force had been used from the beginning of the incident.
When fights drag on, the chances of injury for everyone go up. One well-delivered baton strike or taser is a lot better than wrestling until someone's head cracks on the sidewalk.
45 minutes of saying "pretty please... come on, just leave already..."
Fuck that. Next time it should be 5 minutes at most, then "You're either leaving or getting arrested. And if you fight being arrested, you're getting shot. Now are you fucking leaving or what?"
5 minutes on the dot - have 7 or 8 officers all draw on this J/O. Get on the ground or get shot. You're under arrest, moron.
Two choices:
* Stop playing with people and arrest them
* Walk away from everything... fuck it. Guy wouldn't come with. What are we supposed to do boss? We de-escalated and all that...
Can't have both. At a certain point the criminals realize that THEY are truly in control of the situation and they could care less.
Seriously you guys should bring back the old night sticks. Most people either feared or respected them. They'll quickly give you the upper hand.
" . . . Same thing in CFD. Buildings that were once saved, or "stopped" from burning by competent, courageous firefighters, now elevate to extra alarms and burn to the ground because of the poor, lowered quality of force being hired and "passed" through the academy...next subject? "

OR .. maybe their smarter because risking your life to save a shit-hole building is NOT worth it.
Maybe you can risk YOUR life or the chance of shitting in a wheel chair the rest of YOUR days while dying of lung cancer at the age of 55 is worth the medal you'll get. HERO.
Chicago Cops are no longer the feared
and legendary blue collar ass-kickers
of years ago...
Tough, mean, nasty, flinty, hard-eyed,
heavy-fisted men who relished being on
the cutting edged of Policing and Law
Enforcement in Chicago.
Why?
Because criminals in Chicago are strong,
cunning, vicious, hyper-violent, evil,
pernicious and persistent.
There was a time when "regular" people
understood this and took pains to stay
out of the way and not try to insert
themselves and their "feels" into
Police Business when they saw The Police
taking care of business.
Nowadays, people feel real free and easy
to insert themselves into The Police
taking care of business because it "looks"
so scary to them.
"There's no reason for Cops to be so big
and strong."
"Why do Cops get to hit so hard?"
"It's not FAIR that Cops get to slap, stomp,
kick, elbow, gouge eyes, pull out hair/tear skin
and hit people with those hard sticks."
"Make the Cops back down, retreat and de-escalate!
Why do they have to be so fast and so aggressive
in taking control of conflict situations?"
"If only we can get The Police to be more
friendly and understanding!"
...Which is why seven Cops got hurt.
Kind of explains why the powers that be
don't want combat veterans and sons of
Patrolmen past coming on the job.
Doesn't it?
No tough-minded people who aren't afraid
or hesitant to put a defiant/resistant
criminal shit head on his back.
Note:
Shit head-ism knows no color or gender
and crosses all cultural boundaries.
Shit head needs to be laid-the-fuck-out
with all 12 front teeth missing and a
couple/three broken/dislocated bones
and patches of skin torn off for
fighting/injuring The Police.
Policing in Chicago is a nasty, vicious
and ugly business that can and will get
you KILLED if you're not vigilant and
aware of your surroundings.
Police Like You Have No Friends.
Go home to your families safe, sound
and unscathed.
The liberals and perpetual grievants
absolutely HATE the idea of Policemen
going all in to protect themselves.
They want to see "sacrifices" being made
by The Police.
It validates their giddy feel-goodery
and gives them a tingle...
The notion of Policemen "winning" these
street encounters causes them much
bewilderment and vexation.
Look.
Point & Laugh.
Leave.
Here's his picture:
https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/7-police-officers-injured-during-altercation-with-man-in-south-loop/2269468/
In his mugshot photo back in 1985 he would have looked like a fuckin' mummy if he was able to pose for it.

Work you the 8th 9th or 10th cop there?
Oh that's right you weren't fucking there so how could you possibly know what was done right or wrong?
The suspect less injured!!!
That's right you can't possibly be a cop being so concerned about the suspects injures.
Not to mention any copper wouldn't call him a suspect, he's an offender or jagoff.
So to you... get fucked!
oh, c'mon. how long(even in today's pussified society), until someone begging, fking begging to get knocked out,...gets knocked out...? i got nothin

5/10/2020 05:57:00 PM
Still part of the equipment but now has "DO NOT USE" painted on it. Just for show. Use it? And you can guarantee a lawsuit. And you'll lose no matter what the circumstances. 26th handing out Certificates of Innocence like candy on Halloween. Evidence and facts are meaningless in this liberal progressive democratic infested cesspool.
about 20 years ago I worked with a copper 004 his favorite phrase was "wood him up".
5/10/2020 05:33:00 PM
Amen. Rolling around the deck with a drugged up psychopath is not smart. That's what the stick is for. All this MMA sh*t we see on tv doesn't allow for spitting, biting or some asshole with a razor in his clothes, under his nails, sharpened toothbrush, etc.
Remember that most tragic day of my career 30 years ago.
Two top shelf men taken from us by a punk ass puke. Sgt. JN was first on scene
After he murdered both great men. All heavy hitters of the CPD were looking for the
trash. Some female p.o found his ass hiding under a porch.
Wonder if the punk is still housed or let out the back door
Rest In Peace till we meet again brothers.
Where is Judge Dredd when we need him?!

Lot of shit talkers here. He was tased 3X and it still took 7 coppers to cuff him. He was just a cockstrong mental case. Stop criticizing if you weren't there. Asshats

Imagine trying to arrest Laquan high on PCP?

This is the result of politically correct hiring and promotion practices. Cops can't control the situation because hiring and training standards are lowered to foster "inclusion" in the ranks; thus the quality of force plummets. Same thing in CFD. Buildings that were once saved, or "stopped" from burning by competent, courageous firefighters, now elevate to extra alarms and burn to the ground because of the poor, lowered quality of force being hired and "passed" through the academy...next subject?
5/10/2020 01:17:00 PM
Make way! Score higher on the tests no promotion.

5/10/2020 09:17:00 AM
It must be a different academy now did you see that video on CWB recently? 2 Correctional Officers go down with one punch pathetic and then another runs away with 3 of his fellow Officers down instead of engaging inmate.
Why does everyone keep crying about that officer on thanksgiving who was stripped for body slamming that guy in 006.
You do know he was reinstated quite a while ago, right?
Or maybe that fact doesn’t fit your agenda?
If you’re justified, you’re justified and you’ll be fine.
Document your actions, and go home safe while keeping your job.
It’s not that hard.

7 police officer sent to the hospital and how much time do you think they had on the job? I mean the suspect was in his late 50's. Who was he, John Rambo?
5/10/2020 08:40:00 PM
Well since it was days Im going to say more than you
45 minutes of saying "pretty please... come on, just leave already..."
---
ya, that kind of makes me sick - I wasn't there - that's the general rule, but still come on man
JCat FOP Step Up??????????????
Im sure he was briefed He should comment on the training or the situation The Safety Issues Pos are Facing Many Many thing he can Step Up
The deescalation, force mitigation, and procedural justice pissed the 57 year old offender off! Pre seniors don’t like being treated like a whimp! He broke a can of Whoop @$$! New world out here. How do you get treated at the scene. Ice and gauze. Rookie move, next time go to the hospital. Get everything documented. The department does not have your back!

5/10/2020 08:27:00 PM
My point exactly as I posted before.. all you idiots rely too much on the taser and department tactics. LEARN TO FIGHT and inflict real pain. Take any asshole, no matter how high or “superhuman” and crack him in the nose and he will feel that no matter what. Take your night stick and crack his knee cap and his femur and you will see the fight in him decrease quite a bit. Stop with the taser and verbal command crap. If it’s not working then get down and dirty and start throwing real punches and get this guy knocked out. You can easily justify it in a TRR. Like I said in a previous post.. SOFT. And yes, I CAN Monday morning quarterback this because I’ve been on this job long enough where I have been in fights with bad people who were not going to go quietly and wanted to box. So, the coppers knew what to do and he went to jail and the hospital. The police always won and there was a reason for that. Now if the taser doesn’t work everyone yells stop sir and looks like a deer in headlights and like you just proved the only other think you know how to do is to try the taser again. Get in there and start punching. 7 cops throwing punches and landing good ones on this guy should have put in out but nobody knows how to do that anymore. Go charge your security blanket taser and practice your verbal judo because you are more terrified of possibly having to give a deposition instead of you or other coppers getting physically hurt. Put me at copa or at a civil suit and I’ll explain my actions all day long.. copa and civil court is all part of this job. Once you learn that you will be a better police officer and less of a puss.
Looked at the arrest report and the most “veteran” officer on scene of the 7 officers had only 5 years on. This was on days. Everyone else had less than three years with a few of them being PPOs. My point exactly. The department is hiring clueless individuals who don’t have a clue and don’t know how to fight. Why are kids with all less than 5 years on days in 001!!???!! This scenario is completely different with coppers with anywhere over 13-15 years on. Guy is in the hospital with minimal injuries if any to the officers. The video from the BWC should be shown in every roll call of what not to do and should be point number one of how to get yourselves and partners hurt on this job. Go hands on and take care of business.
That day Bt 114, on 2nd watch has a kid with 2 years on it and 1 year on it. Why is the watch commander allowing a kid with 2 years and 1 year ride together on days in 001???? Why are they even on days??? Bt 132 that day on scene two kids with 2 years on it as partners. Bt 131 has two kids with 2 and 3 years on. Why are they riding together on 2nd watch in 001??? So 6 kids right there, all riding together in 001 on 2nd watch. We’ve answered the question of why the officers got hurt. This is bad judgement by the watch commander all in the name of having young people on days to get numbers.
Those metal asps that new guys carry do a lot more damage than a wooden baton would ever do. Never left the car without the stick on any job, the shitheads would see the stick and think twice about starting a party on your head.
I don’t know why anyone is surprised. We recently saw the video of the two black officers trying to subdue the unarmed white guy in the cta right. Neither officer had any fighting skills and you saw how that ended right? “Shoot him shoot him.” And then she shot him twice with one of them being fired as he ran away. This is who this department is hiring now. Also look at the people who are instructors for control tactics in the academy now. What are they teaching these recruits these days?
Sorry to ruin all the jagoff armchair quarterback’s day but dude was tased THREE separate times and kept up the fight!
STOP completely relying on those stupid tasers and go back to carrying your nightstick. Cops are losing fights left and right because they fail to rely on other defensive/offensive means that are JUSTIFIED. You carry an expandable baton; you have to have the old hickory by order. Learn to use them when needed.

Jim Marsh would demonstrate how to take a man down, on you!! Then you would know something.
5/10/2020 07:33:00 PM
That crazy fuck! My hand was black and blue for over a week after stunting him on his head during “Redman” test. He said that it wasn’t hard enough! The man was way too far into pain..... he would tase himself on his side as he was demonstrating the use of force. There are people that are nuts like him and we met a few, either on crack or wicky stick or just nuts, it could get OH SHIT, scary! ;)
I took a 15 day suspension for going upside a fool's head with a flashlight who just tried to knock my head off. When I got him into handcuffs and stood him up, I knew what I had. His arms were solid. I asked him where he learned to box. Stateville is where he did his time, lifting weights and boxing. I DON'T REGRET FOR A MINUTE DOING THIS. Took the wife and kids on a nice vacation. Protect yourself at all times, as they say in boxing!
Back in the day a maglite was the perfect corrective action for a scene like this
He got a $5,000 D-Bond -- $500 cash to be released.

5/10/2020 06:11:00 AM
Excellent: Thanks for the memories. When Derrick came to 001, he'd stop cars on Wabash telling people he was a reverend and needed money for his church. Confronted him once with a 2 by 4. Luckily he knew us and knew we would have shot him. So many bad guys in 001. Sonny's liquors was like a bad movie. Mix it up with the St. James 1234, and Roosevelt Hotels, I have no words. Most people thought when you worked in 001, all you had to do was wear your hat. They had no idea what happened outside the loop back in the day.
Retired
First, we ask you... Nicely.
Then, we tell you... Sternly.
Finally, we MAKE you...
Whether you want to, or not.
Are Policemen PREPARED to enforce the law
and EXERT their LAWFUL AUTHORITY?
Or are they just going to wave spent tasers and dance
in circles around a defiant/resistant criminal shit head?
That they begged this asshole for
compliance for 45 minutes is a crying shame.
Bring back the days of a stupid m/fer
appearing in bond court looking like
a swole-head swami...
"Whodat wit da diaper on his haid?"
One old wagon-monster we remember always promised
and delivered "a limp, a twitch and a stutter"
to a m/fer who THOUGHT he wanted to knuckle
up with The Police.
You go J-Cat, your 14 Day quarantine plan is brilliant and highlights the lack of any support or supplies provided to first responders. With the increased testing expect 2/3 of the department to have Covid or the antibodies and like the rest of the world, quarantined inside their homes right at the time of everyone taking furloughs. Hey Groot or Pritzker deny us and we’ll own you. Blame The Surge.
First of all, I see all these negative comments. It's easier said than done. If you weren't there why are you Monday morning quarterbacking. You can tell all the naysayers are the ones who have never been in a fight or an incident because it never goes as planned. How can you say what you would have done? If you ever have been in any BS, you should know you only have 1-2 seconds to make a decision which could cost you your life. It's sad people are responding with negative criticism. We should be glad that none of the officers didn't get seriously injured or killed. You guys don't get it, police officers are being criticized and ridiculed by their fellow officers for making good sound decisions. It's embarrassing police officers don't get any respect from other officers or the public. Have you guys attended enough police funerals within the last 4 years? No matter what police officers do, fellow officers will find something to say negatively. Furthermore, this is why the public don't respect or fear the police because they see and hear the negative criticism from other officers. Most of the naysayers are angry because they are in horrible districts and they can't bid out or make a phone call while the young officers are assigned to better districts.
Is there a rule that states cops
aren't allowed to fight dirty anymore?
Not to sure about time on the job really being that important. Have seen some po’s right out of the academy take care of business and others come out can’t do anything and 5 years or 10 years later still can’t
Great place to learn to be a po, on days in 001.
Unlawful PASSIVE Resistance will be dealt with by Presence and Verbal Judo. Unlawful ACTIVE violent Resistance will be met with overwhelming and immediate and sustained VIOLENT lawful force.
The failure to use enough Force, early enough, in a fight invariably leads to excessive Force later on. The longer a Fight lasts the more time the Crook has to get lucky. Get it over with
New video shows a young man punching the lights out of an old man ,attempting to disarm him .
Starting to look like a TM vs GZ incident .
It did not look like a young man being hunted down like a dog .
Videos do not lie .
That old senior citizen might be a dead man if that young man took his shotgun .
To the idiot who posted about the ASP being better than the wooden baton. You are fucking clueless. I would let you wind up and hit me with that pathetic piece of crap ASP if you let me wind up and crack you with a wooden baton. Then we compare, that is 30 minutes after you stop crying and whining. The ASP is a piece of shit.
Why do you think the LAPD looked so bad whacking the shit outta that shitbag Rod King. The optics on that looked bad cause you had to hit him 20-30 times and it still didn't do shit. Guaranteed 2-3 wooden baton strikes and the fight would have been taken outta him asap.
The liberal assholes gave us the ASP because they knew the wooden baton got shit under control and would put the hurt on guys. The ASP is a sissy tool.

Same thing with talking to the offender. The more you talk and the loner it goes on only empowers the offender
Reference 0925//12 MAY: We can verify this with ex Superintendent Beck. In 1991, when Rodney King ( on parole for Armed Robbery), and
( almost certainly) smoking marijuana joints dipped in PCP, was dealt with by LAPD, I believe ( not certain) LAPD used plastic/ “ polymer” PR24 side handle batons. I believe the “Gentle Giant” Mr King was first Tasered, before batons were used to effect arrest. While a plastic PR24 is better than a CPD ASP, there is NO substitute for a tropical hardwood, such as cocobolo or bubinga.

I've always said and taught that boxing is the primary method of control Going to the deck in a wrestling match put one in harm's way, and is something to know, but still to avoid. The same movements and instincts one learns with basic strikes keep us properly distanced, and should the wood have to be applied, the same movements can be used. And a con just out is probably at his most dangerous; well-conditioned and ready to rob/steal/whatever over whatever change a mark has in pocket.
So when you hear fellow officers calling for help or 10-1 you are going to "slow the fuck down?" I was on for 32 years and never called for a white shirt on the street. I made my own decisions. Hope you never need help out there.
With all due respect, that's what you would have to do today, step back and call a supervisor. And they will call for a supervisor in a heartbeat if you say or do or don't do something they do not like.
Nowadays the first question COPA, IAD etc asks is if you called for a supervisor.
Cover yourself. It is a shame the job has come to that, but it has.

I have no problem with this as long as you can justify and articulate this, and many cops can't articulate well the 'what' and 'why'.
