Sun Times Playing Catch-up Again

On 01 May, we told readers Dart had run out of Electronic Monitoring bracelets.

It wasn't our information. Readers had gleaned it from a Chicago Tonight show a day before.

Now the Sun Times is finally catching up, all in an effort to....release more inmates!
  • The Cook County sheriff’s office has run out of electronic monitoring bracelets, worrying inmate advocates, who say the lack of devices could lead to too many arrestees languishing in jail during the coronavirus pandemic.

The lack of bracelets, which was mentioned by prosecutors during court hearings Thursday, could grow worse as the weather warms, straining the sheriff’s office’s ability to socially distance detainees and leading to more contracting COVID-19 at Cook County Jail, advocates said.

The sheriff’s office, meanwhile, acknowledged the lack of devices, saying its inventory of bracelets had been exhausted Tuesday night and supply issues with companies that provide the bracelets has prevented the office from acquiring more.
This has turned into a national joke, freeing criminals (who have demonstrated a complete inability to live by the rules of a civilized society) upon an unsuspecting populace to "prevent" the spread of a virus. Has anyone seen the shooting and killing numbers for May?

A point I've seen around the internet:

The media, experts, and governments at various levels tell us we all need to wear masks outside our homes in order to prevent other from catching the bug from us and it might help us a bit not catch it from them.

The media, experts and governments at various levels also insist we must empty the prisons because there's no way to protect the inmates from the bug.

So, are monitoring bracelets cheaper than masks?

If self-Isolation and masks work like they say, why are they releasing inmates. isn't safer for them to be there

Who among us did not see the convenient shortage of Electronic Monitors coming?Only in Cook County could this be attempted.Yet the Cook County Sheriffs Office has the same amount of employees with no new prisoners. Are they still paying Assistant States Attorneys,Public Defenders, and Court Clerks with no court for the last 2 months????Nice job Preckwinkle.Close those evil northside Forest Preserves and Golf Courses.Got to make those Caucasian folks feel the Pandemic pain also.

Speaking of Dart, what's up with the county's twitter page where Dart is all of sudden praising the officers at the jail? Does he really think that they are going to except him after treating them like bald headed step children? What a joke this guy is. And you should see Leo Schmitz on their twitter with his war general pins from all the previous agencies he worked at.....here's the link

If I was a violent felon released from IL jails, I certainly wouldn’t be wasting my time self-isolating from the outside world. Having a Get Out Of Jail present, I’m sure that every one of these do-gooders are whoopin’ up their freedom outside 24/7, not giving a F about ‘social guidelines.’

Hire ex Sheriff Arpaio from AZ. to consult on the building of outdoor tent jails complete with gun towers and Bouncing Betties outside the wire. That should suffice.

Don't be so heartless. Where is the love, Man? Think of how happy their families are now that their "breadwinner" is out of jail and bucking to join the workforce, unencumbered by the bracelet that brands him as a criminal.

Of all the places that should have a big stack of test kits standing by ready to use, jails are top of the list. Negative? Get yer ass in and sit down and shut up.

Tell all these suburban Karens who are on their 3rd or 4th test to sit the hell home and cool it for a while.

My daughter in grade school asked why our sheriff can’t just put cow bells on their ankles and let them go. Would probably be just as effective when you think about it.

Seen that another Cook County restored justification allowed a violent armed repeat weapon violating justice involved assailant to be released on a Cook County Affordable Bond ($200 cash money) for shooting an acquaintance in the belly over some owed money.
A mere $200 set this violent assailant back onto the public way, perhaps to get another shot at settling his financial bidness.

Too bad the GOP Cook Co States Attorney candidate Patrick Obrien isn’t getting his message out.
Gotta wonder when or if he ever will.

Dart started the ball rolling on this insanity. Him and Preckwinkle both went after Judge Evans years ago on Chicago Tonight. Dart had under 10k inmates and basically claimed the jail was going to implode unless Evans's started mass releases. Now he blames judges as if he had nothing to do with it. Now he is blasting media and trying make nice with his employees after treating them like trash. Nobody falling for this garbage.

Solve the problem by keeping the thugs in jail where they belong. This city state country is doomed. Keep voting for idiots, people will never learn.

Dart was ordering his OPR to mass fire employees to try to balance budget after Merit Board mess during increase in lawsuit payouts.

Judges have ruled recently many of these officers were illegally fired and ordering back pay reinstatement. He was actually firing employees for signing in 5 minutes late for "falsifying timesheets".. He had sting for two years where OPR claimed dozens of employees falsified timesheets. Some actually were guilty but he also fired employees claiming they stole under as little as 20 minutes over a 2 year period. They generally allowed a 10 minute grace period if you were running late on rare occasions. Most of time after relief you signed 15-20 minutes after each shift without OT. So many employees were worked more than 8 hrs a shift were accused of fraud and fired. Dart is just a despicable human who needs prayers for all people's lives he destroyed. Thank God the Federal Judges are ruling in favor of these officers.

The Slum Times could find a negative story about crime, corruption and political cronyism without political approval. If permission is granted it will be a soft ball story. No surprises here.

Who will win the media race to be the leader of Chicago's 5th Column? Smart money goes with the Slum Times as the Fibune is bankrupt and going down the shitter.

So then every SunTimes employee must take an inmate home with them and be responsible for them until they can be returned to the jail. Or Gov. Fat Ass can just put them up at the Hyatt for a spell no charge. What say you Gov?
