- Outrage over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis is fueling a local push to get police officers out of Chicago Public Schools buildings.
Since Floyd’s death, the Minneapolis Board of Education has ended its contract with the local police department. Pressure is mounting for school districts nationwide to follow suit, a movement that was already underway in Chicago.
Among the demands heard at protests this week, particularly among CPS students, is for the district to nullify the $33 million contract it entered into with the Chicago Police Department in August for school resource officers in CPS buildings.
To anyone paying attention - it's a bullshit paper move. CPS "reimburses" CPD for the cost of officers stations in high schools. It's all taxpayer money in different accounts, just tallied differently. If they got rid of every "school resource officer," it's not like they're headed to the unemployment line - they're right back in their Districts of assignment, getting paid. And many of the other "safety and security" officers are off duty sheriffs and correction officers on side jobs. Without many of them, schools would be uninhabitable within a week.

Years ago when processing juveniles, I can’t even count the number of times those honor students were in custody for punching a security guard or teacher. Any CPD who takes a part-time job in CPS, you are crazy. I mean other than sexually molesting their students, participating in Communist rallies & having drive by parades, they might as well start earning that 18% raise.
In private schools we welcome police and their presence with open arms. I would never forgive myself for sending my child to a CPS school, I don’t care how “good” it is.

There is a move afoot to defund police departments. Removing officers from the CPS is just a leading edge of this effort. Why not give those who want this a trial run? Pick a week,any week, perhaps 3 days on either side of the 4th of July. Police officers will come to work and stay in the stations, repairing building flaws, replacing equipment used in the Chicago Riots, tuning up squad cars,etc. Liberal time off will be authorized to catch up on cancelled vacations and RDOs. Under no circumstances will they go out on the street or respond to calls. OEMC can serve a useful function by documenting calls and taking reports over the phone. In order to ensure that the assigned work is done well, all exempts will be required to take the week off. A bonus will occur if every officer uses the time to get to the range and qualifies at the new requirement of shooting bad guys in the leg as Crazy Joe Biden recommends.
We certainly will get a sneak peek at what a real life Purge would look like.
The district make up should be divided evenly around the city, 001 and 018 should get more due to the tourist population, lakefront districts also. Parks cars, foot patrols, split evenly per population. Our support units should also be increased, and get the CAPS unit out of the office and onto the street.
So be it. Give them what they want and then wait for them to come back begging for the Police. Lets close all of the Police stations in the “communities” while we are at it too. How long do you think these neighborhoods could last without the intervention of the Police.

Long overdue. Unit was made a biddable one after originally being staffed by the friends and family network upon its inception after a grievance was filed and won. Unit was disbanded approx.1997 and officers and supervisors were sent back to the district of assignments there schools we’re located in. ( Where is our union at on this One 250 + spots) where patronage continues. At which time the intergovernmental agreement between CPS and CPD expired but continued to operate at cost to the city. Little to none as far as training goes. Running interference for incompetence at CPS administration and learning school law was on your own if you were assigned and wanted to do the job. Saving tax payers a ton of cash in lawsuits. Is there a new intergovernmental agreement? FOIA maybe. Did more work on a daily bases than a youth officer for a P.O. salary. When I hear the team school Resource Officers 👮♀️?.. I often wonder who they are because in the end no one wanted to be assigned to these cesspools. God bless the citizens of Chicago and the CPD officers who serve them as best as the man lets them! Let’s talk about what CPS pays out in lawsuits yearly truly a eyeopener.

The true aims of education is to teach an individual HOW to think not WHAT to think. How is CPS doing?
If the fire dept can bill you for every ambulance call, let start billing the CPS for every police call, say a flat rate of $100,00 and hour( adjusted for inflation) , per officer. Two hour minimum. Lets not forget to add the court time, which would be at 1.5 times the billed time and of course, mileage for the officers at the standard rate set by the feds.
School checks would be a minimum of 1 hour.

I sent my kid to a famous for magnet music Public High school. What a fucking mistake but the kid had a gift which he gave up on while in that shit school. A so called magnet school I'd go to pick him up and see gang bangers coming out. The school cops were the only ones holding the place together.
The teachers were a bunch of dont give a shit assholes. My kid caught a day after some little asshole shoved him while calling him "white boy" and my kid knocked him on his ass. Still they suspended him.

I say take all officers out of the schools. $33 millions was probably being stolen by city hall or someone in the city council through a paper chase. Let the principals and the teachers deal with their own students. Its not a police matter when the student tells the principal to fuck off. Have the students parents come down to school to get their precious one - if the principal can find most of them. Funny how all theses educators have these degrees on how to deal with kids but when things begin to get heated they immediately dial 911. Just a bunch of cowards passing the buck.
Schools have a few assistant principals, along with deans and assistant deans of students, who are all supposed to deal with unruly students. 😑
