Forty Stolen Cars?
- After one of the largest car heists in recent memory, Chicago police confirm one of them was used in a deadly and wild chase through the city Wednesday night.
As police were distracted with protests and looting across the city Sunday evening, nearly 40 vehicles were stolen from a Toyota dealership at 69th and Western.
Cell phone video from stunned onlookers captured an organized caravan of criminals speeding off with stolen cars.
This happened a while bunch of times last year where someone would burglarize a car dealership or drive another stolen vehicle through the doors and hit the sales office for keys so everyone got to drive off in a car. And it seemed that all of the cars that were stolen ended up on the west or south sides.

Brian Kroll from Lyons Township High School class of 1980 owns that dealership. A really good guy. Met him in 1992 when he was sales manager and bought a Toyota Camry XLE. He’s good to the city workers and he provides jobs to citizens in the area.
This has been going on for years, never on this scale.

Whatever. Another car dealership down the drain because terrorism, rioting, insurrection, and acts of war are excluded on just about every insurance policy issued. But hey, it's all good - no one needs the sales tax revenue, payroll tax revenue, employees spending money on goods/services, or customers buying gasoline... Surely you're implying that the car thieves hail from Garfield Ridge and Mt Greenwood. Because we all know it couldn't possibly be residents of the other neighborhoods on the south and west side. No sir, they are all upstanding people there.

I bought a used car from Hertz last December. A great deal, about 4 grand less then blue book value. Two year old Toyota with 38000 miles.
Toyota on Western, soon to be Sam's Discount Auto II.

Uh sorry Einstein , dealership’s have sophisticated secure key storage system. Inside job as somebody had to know how it operates and the codes to get in . Also they had plenty of time to do that with Police being busy elsewhere. Even with the codes and stock number of the car , you can only get access to so many at once
All cars were stolen by young Amish lads who are sick and tired of the horse and buggy thing.

Not sure if that’s still possible anymore but gotta hand it to the numbskull dealers leaving the keys on a hook in a big bright metal boxes marked ‘New Car Keys In Here’ and ‘Used Car Keys In Here’ doesn’t help. I believe the NW side Jeep Chrysler dealership had the feral hiding in the trunks of cars to steal cars overnight and now they are just going into the service doors during business (bidness) hours.

We can’t chase and arrest our way out of the problem with restless night children.
There should be a curfew so kids and spirited youth won’t be out on the streets at night or maybe an evening program of outdoor sporting competitions can be started to give them kids something to do.

Operating a dealership in that neighborhood is financially marginal at best. Chalk up another lost business in the city. To repair and reopen would be insanity.
This sounds like the ATM crime ring thats been hitting for months throughout Chicago and suburbs.
Sadly, the lesson is that you should not have a car dealership, or any other kind of business, in certain parts of Chicago. Risks outweigh rewards. Hope the owner can start over in Indiana or Wisconsin.

This is not the first time the auto dealers on Western have been targeted. They have put up fences, hired a lot of security and it still goes on. I am surprised they are still there, especially after this recent theft. Auto sales companies have to borrow money to get those cars from the manufacturer. This will really set them back. The cost of doing business in a black area.
The West or South-side please say it ain't so, because that would riddle me prejudice! Ya think...

Certainly not the politicians that enable these animals to exist among a civilize society...
He would have been caught before the accident if someone had not left their leys in an unattended vehicle at a gas station.
Great time to be a bad guy in this city. Distracted and demoralized police force. Masks and gloves to “stay safe.” No chase policy. Prosecutor acts like a public defender. A sheriff who doesn’t want anyone in his jail. There’s probably never been a more conducive environment in this city for crime, ever.
People of Chicago, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Hold on to your tits and bits, you haven't seen anything yet.
