- Police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy was shot early Sunday in Humboldt Park.
Just before 12:45 a.m., CPD was called to the 2800 block of West Division Street on the report of a shooting.
Police said a 12-year-old boy was standing on a sidewalk when he sustained gunshot wounds to both knees. His family was attending a Puerto Rican celebration at the time.
The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
Leaving aside the fact that a 12-year-old was out partying at 1245 AM, can you see what the police did wrong?

While we are on the topic of reform, why not have total review of politicians. The focus is on CPD, why not the alderpeople. Percentage wise I think more have been indicted than officers.
Why not license politicians. Base the fee on the amount of campaign contributions. If they don’t balance the budget, revoke their license. If citizens complain about them, revoke their license.

A number of years ago I drove my mother through Humboldt Park where she had grown up in a Norwegian neighborhood. She was quiet but after many minutes said "no one would live here unless they had to." Now you may not like lutefisk but there's this to be said for Norwegians. They don't riot, loot, or engage in arson.
the parents of the youth should be arrested and charged with neglect. why is a child out at 1245am? at the very least the state should take custody of this child and the parents forfeit any state assistance for said child.
