Shotspotter Shut Down Yet?
That time of year where the company takes itself offline because it is overwhelmed by fireworks and the filters aren't able to tell the difference.
And speaking of fireworks, has anyone noticed a giant uptick in Fireworks calls? In fact, the "Juneteenth" celebrations seem to have started in late April, continued through the COVID lockdown, and are still building to the 04 July weekend.
We can't recall seeing so much debris in the streets pre-Fourth ever. And you know what it brings to mind? Massive lost taxing opportunities lost to Indiana and Wisconsin. The sales tax alone for fireworks would have paid for all of the police overtime since 31 May.
But Illinois politicians never saw a monetary opportunity they couldn't screw up.

Illinois will legalize prostitution before they legalize fireworks. The only way fireworks gets legalized is if the mob or one of Daley’s family members starts up an IL fireworks distributor and then the State only allows one firework medallion that goes to that business. Of course all kinds of regulations will need to be passed too.
You can smoke weed on your front porch but you can't celebrate the 4th by blowing up a few fireworks.
Just legalize them already. People are going to, and have been for years, buy them from Indiana no matter what. You can't stop them. Might as well collect the taxes. Wtf

What’s the over under for Fourth of July weekend? With all the children being killed and the family not talking you could bet they are planning some big big killing fields in Chi-Raq! As long as they stay where they live, and the so-called jungles that’s what they want to do we cannot stop it we have absolutely no ability to stop it there is no crime and punishment with the states attorney and the Democratic leader ship lets the criminals run free. of LA.
This program is nonsense. Who or what is politically connected to this company. In a time when the mayor is crying poor why does any city department waste funds on such bullshit. These funds could have been used to purchase more necessary equipment like replacing PDT's, Computer terminals in the stations, vehicles and most of all training. . It was amazing to see how fast they retrofitted a room in the stations to make a shot spotter room. Even worse that when a shot spotter notices shots it is transmitted to California for some idiot to decide if it is legit then transmit it back to the shot spotter room. Sounds pretty messed up. Is this company owned by Nancy Pelosi? Should be transmitted to OEMC. Regardless we need to defund all these politically connected vendors. The problem is City government not the police it's city hall wasting tax dollars on bullshit without any accountability.

Maybe instead of "shot spotter" you can get the National Guard to set up a Q-13 radar. It can plot the shooter and the Guardsman can pound that spot with 105mm or mortars. It's a ghetto fireworks. We always had them in July. Now it seems they around all year round. As the neighborhood changes the fireworks usage increases.
