Story from a regular reader of ours:
- My wife and I went to get tested at the Covid-19 location up in Norridge. We're older and with assorted health issues, so it made sense. We get registered, they take all of our info and tell us it's a 45 minute wait. No big deal, right? So we wait and wait and wait. After an hour and fifteen minutes, we decided the heck with it and headed home without being tested. We'll just get up earlier and do it in a week or so.
Ten days later guess what arrived in the mail? Our test "results" telling us we were both positive, even though we left without being swabbed. This whole thing is looking more and more like a scam.
It certainly is, and this would be a slam dunk for any reporter worthy of the name, but don't expect the media to do anything that might interfere with the narrative.

I accompanied a friend that was feeling a bit anxious because a family member tested
positive. My friend tested Neg but my result came back Positive. I didn’t experience
any symptoms and my family got tested twice and they were negative. I feel my
test was a false positive. The 14 day quarantine was nice though

My wife told me her cousin’s friend’s family (two adults and two children) went to Michigan for a trip and came back to Illinois. They were nervous about Covid-19 exposure and decided to get tested. Same exact story! They signed up for the test (all 4 family member) - got tired of waiting and went home without ever being tested. Same situation ... they received notices telling them that they all test positive (even though they were NEVER tested!!!!!!). Is this a scam??
You are 100% correct.I talked to at least 10 separate old timers from around my far northwest side residence who reported very similar experiences of getting tired of waiting in the long line at the Norridge COVID Testing Site after registering,leaving without being tested,and receiving positive COVID results about 4 days later.The gentleman a few doors from me became so worried that he immediately set up an appointment with his family physician and in 48 Hours he received negative results for COVID for both him and his wife.After the Presidential Election this COVID house of cards is going to come tumbling down.Anybody who took a Statistics and Probability class could tell you that these COVID numbers in Illinois are an impossibility.The roughly same number of COVID tests and positive results each and everyday for the last month with allegedly over 40,000 different people being tested each and every day???
I guarantee that the same people are being paid to sit in those lines to be tested everyday.Imagine that you are feeling ill with a fever and other symptoms.Would you be sitting in your car for hours waiting to be tested or would you get to your own Doctor or the emergency room right away?
Better be careful. They’ll have you and wifey in ICU, hooked up to a ventilator for two weeks all while you’re sitting on your sofa at home.

This is happening every where. Especially at the walk in clinics. People who get a letter saying they are positive, they call their Doctor who tells them to go to a Hospital for the test. The Hospital tests shows the same people Negative.

Went on 7/13 to Norridge site ,waited 30 min for test, thought this was great. After test told it would be 4-7 days for results. Finally after 10 days and numerous phone calls and emails, received a phone call at 10 pm and told test was flawed and would have to get retested. Thank God I did not have virus, probably would have died before next results of test
The same thing is happening here in Houston. I know of at least three individuals this has happened to. That's not to mention two other souls that took two tests - at two different facilities (hospitals) - the same day, and one came back positive, the other negative.
Hard to believe any of the numbers we see any given day.
There could be a nice, fat lawsuit waiting there. They "tested" something without actually performing the test, then told their supposed patients they were ill. Gotta be malpractice of some sort.
Similar thing happened to a coworker here in Michigan. He and his brother went on a golf vacation to the west side of the state. They were joined for the first two days by a friend who lives locally. After another couple of days, the friend calls and says he just tested positive for the Rona, they should get tested. They go to the local testing site, sign in, and wait for two hours, then decided to just leave and get tested at home. The next day they both receive a text saying they are COVID-19 positive, but when they get the results from the test at home it’s negative.
Don't expect the pitiful Chicago media to verify this.

If staffing isn't physically checking ID's for verification, one could utilize voter registration and other public databases to register fraudulent individuals for testing. I have heard of people receiving contact tracing cold-calls, when they haven't tested nor even seen any medical practitioner... Perhaps this is just phishing though
I had a Dr.'s appt in another city nearby at the beginning of the pandemic. I was told that I had to get tested three days prior to seeing my doctor. I offered to get tested at a hospital nearby and send them the results. I was told that would not be satisfactory. WTF??? I believe they were drumming up business for them selves. The term Scamdemic seems appropriate.

A good friend lives near Hilton Head SC. He went for a CT scan. The nurse at the facility shared that she and a number of her nurse friends were so disgusted with the testing that about a dozen of them submitted swabs for testing— UNUSED swabs, taken directly from the sterile packaging and placed in the submission package. ALL TWELVE OF THE UNUSED SWABS SUPPOSEDLY TESTED FOR WUHAN !

According to the CDC website today (7/29/2020) there have been 52,942,145 COVID 19 tests done in the U.S. so far. That there have been some mistakes (clerical errors, false positives and false negatives) shouldn't be surprising. Humans make mistakes - that doesn't mean all the data is false. Not everything is some big conspiracy. Seems that paranoia is also pandemic in this country. According to one side we are all going to die of COVID and according to the other side rioters are going to invade our neighborhoods and kill us. We all just need to calm down.

The states 10 testing sites were run by the Illinois National Guard up until 3 weeks ago.
A testing company from California miraculously prepared AND won a bidding process in 6 days to take over the 10 sites. Land leases were assumed. The transition took place overnight without any input from the soldiers. The agency was hiring “testers” as they walked up to the test sites and testing was ongoing. The quote from IDPH was, they better be prepared to hire new employees every 2 weeks due to poor PPE practices & testing procedures.
It comes as no surprise that sizable numbers of testing “errors” are occurring.

People dying in accidents are counted as Covid deaths, people dying in murders and other mayhem are also Covid deaths. Some testing locations are reporting 100% positive results which is completely impossible. All of this is a scam aimed at getting rid of Trump and controlling government 100%. Seems sorta obvious at this point, isn’t it?
If Joe Biden wins in November, this virus will be back-page news and Fauci will suddenly be fine with getting everything back to as normal as possible as fast as possible (schools open, no masks, businesses running at 100%, etc,)

A few months back the Feds had allocated $2.2 trillion through HHS, to be divvied to the states based on the number of positive CoViD cases. In Illinois it's was approximately $73,000 per person and in some cases like Nebraska over $300,000 per person. As we all know, based on grants and other funds for enforcement programs , this creates a false number. Since the states and medical facilities are getting reimbursed for POSITIVE cases, it's a money machine, probably not closely monitored and therefore is ripe for creating false information.
This doesn't mean every monitoring site is falsifying the cases, but I would bet my pension that a majority are.
Ok. Similar incident happened in a nw suburban hospital. Two nurses, who thought returned results of covid testing were abnormally high, sent in swabs without actually swabbing (using their own names). Guess what, both returned “positive”. When administration got wind of what they did they were close to be terminated. The story is not out yet since the hospital wants to keep it hushed.
The testing is flawed on so many levels.
Anyone who has this happen to them should contact the US attorney General (NOT the Illinois AG). This is insurance fraud, not to mention if they are getting money from the government for this, defrauding the government. If enough people contact them, maybe they will look into it.

Most financial advisors are going to sell you what they want to sell you. Here is the advice. Your age plays a factor. How long are you going to be working? What kind of investor are you (conservative or risky)? What is your human capital (earning potential--e.g. advanced degrees)? Learn to use a financial calculator or on online amortization tool (figure out payments). Take graduate level finance classes to learn about investing. Ask people in your family (or friends) about ways to diversify and minimize risks. Figure out what type of retirement life you want to live. If you do this on your own, you will be way ahead of the game. You will do most of the work yourself and you will not get swindled.

In the short run, make sure you have 6 months emergency funds. T Bills and CDs are preferred instruments of liquidity. Obviously some cash on hand is needed, but interest is nice to have. Basics are precious metals and t bills as liquid convertibles and stock market funds for a higher risk/higher return. A pension means a lot, since being tied to a 401k can be problematic upon retirement. One needs to retire during a bull market, and then get out to a secondary area in order to take advantage of the coming trough. Good luck timing that. As noted by others, age and risk aversion guide the working funds. The closer to retirement, the more one should move to a blue chip based portfolio. Best to take some financial courses in order to understand the system. Like anything else, the more you know the better off one is. The other thing to remember is that buying retirement property is best done before retirement, and to NEVER pay the note off. Mortgages are the cheapest money one will ever get (legally anyway), and keeping an affordable balance is a good idea in that your mortgage rates are based on income, not the home's value. A house is just collateral; if the bank has to repo, they expect to do so at a deep discount. Get the best rates and then make sure to keep a reasonable note and use the interest as a tax write off. Too many retirees are fu**ked when down the line they need major repairs and have only a fixed income to work with. Reverse mortgages have a high rate for just that reason.
Again, the more you know, the better off you are. Learn some basic statistics and don't be afraid to do some night school real estate. Best of luck

The States that initially tried to be legitimate and opened their economies up quickly found out how much money their State would receive for each "POSITIVE" COVID Test.They all quickly hopped back on board of the SCAMDEMIC Train and shut down to rake in COVID dollars before the Presidential Election.Granted that this is criminal all the way around but it was all inevitable.Just like the pending LOCKDOWN of Illinois coming right around Labor day.Governor Fatso has his people meandering about towns on the Wisconsin border spreading rumors of anyone with Wisconsin License Plates traveling in Illinois will be stopped and fined $500 to $1000 Dollars.This is all going to get a lot worse.
I wish the reader would go public to show what a scam it is! 99.96% survival rate. That's what needs to be shared.

Nurse here. Married to a cop. I work for one of the medical centers. We test in house, not send out. IMHO, our results are real; but the send outs? Anybody's guess. Oh, and yes, all the athletes and people getting "preprocedure" testing done count toward the number of tests being done in a day. Even if they had one yesterday, even if they have no symptoms. Sounds like Norridge is scamming, report them! I agree go federal, not state level. That aside, Covid is a real thing. Oversold? Absolutely. But still real, I promise. Just saying,don't neglect to keep yourselves safe because people are so busy trying to use this crisis to throw some more dirt on Trump. True the flu is a killer people aren't paying attention to (and had been more deadly the past 2 years), but it is worse for those susceptible. Keep that in mind or stay away from anybody with risk factors. Be safe!
i went there back in may. got there at 5:30 am , sick as a dog. got tested and left about 8:30 am. they called the next day with a positive. that's my story.

If your results were positive I’m sure they used the specimen to alter four dozen others tests. The old C’mon Back wreaks of fraud, if negative, keep comin’back until they get a positive... no cost to you, they’ll even do it over the phone, for safety’s sake. There’s no limit, so they are probably being reimbursed for the volume and care less about the plague results. They get nothing for a hospital referral.
