If a defendant-friendly judge is acting confused as to why a felon is getting a walk on a Class X Agg Battery with a Gun on video, then you can be pretty sure something is screwed up.

Covid-awareness or carelessness enough to go outdoors and shoot someone, but Court has to be via video feed with audio and technical distortions. The unnecessary 4 month Covid Court lockdown created a tremendous backlog. The hospitals never seen 40,000 covid patients overwhelming the limited bed-space, but an empty cook county jail and court system sure is right now. Be prepared for a massive BFW or outright vacate orders by Santa Claus Tim Evans.
Careless and re-educated judges are as complicit to the unrelenting violence as the prosecutors. Public defenders however have an inherent condition that always seeks leniency, it’s how they prep for more lucrative private practice defenses.
