District Shortages
Anyone notice the sheets seem a bit light lately? There's a reason for that and Groot didn't tell the aldercreatures:

Groot promised the Michigan Avenue merchants an extra 100 cops a day, so every District in the city is sending a sergeant and between four-and-six officers on 3rd watch and 1st watch. This means that everyone is short a few cars and backlogs are skyrocketing. This doesn't count the tact teams sent down every day and the 100 detectives every weekend so far.
We were told by a few e-mailers that up in 016, there are a total of thirteen officers patrolling the entire District on 3rd watch. 022 is similar, but we haven't seen a set of daily sheets.
Midnights is rumored to be even worse.

In 002 we have to send officers from our watch with the Tact team because no one wants to work Tact anymore. Half the third watch cars are 99 and constant backlogs.

017 has 17 sergeants for the entire district. They have to send 2 beat cars and a sergeant every night. That leaves the entire district with one sergeant and 3 beats down with no wagon.
What happened to the 500+ summer mobile and new teams? They stay in the ghetto on days while all districts give up personnel? Seems reasonable considering every district has people detailed to mass transit, summer mobile, etc. On top of giving up cars...
This city is beyond repair.

Districts are working dangerously with skeleton crew on third watch. Even in 024 where there's usually not much going on is constantly going into a back log, I can only imagine the busier districts. Have no fear in 024's back log which doesn't last, thanks to that super sergeant JV who wants every P.O to clear jobs even before getting in the car...... all while coding out jobs as well. This idea that all if not most districts are to send their tact teams along with two beat/rapid units and one sergeant to downtown is ludacris.
If groot wasn't such a boot licker to those leftist commie BLMANTIFA fucks, and allowed the police to be the police, all of this would have been nipped in the bud. Now, not only are these criminals emboldened but they also known that CPD'S nuts were clipped by the mayor and that includes the superintendent. Let's see what happens but let's hope shit doesn't hit the fan in the districts because help isn't coming any time soon boy and girls.

How about you just send about twenty-forty officers down the street. Every truck, every trailer every SUV? You stick the tires or pull the valve stems. Anyone that resists gets hammered by baton rounds and pepper balls. Everyone in the street gets driven down the street. Keep them running.

Knowing the lack of timely police response in 016, whether out alone or not, I carry and with an extra magazine, practicing situational awareness either inside a building or out. I see more wolves now that they feel emboldened thanks to the demoRats.

I Live in 016 and always used to see the beat car on my walks and now I never see anyone. Even in the best of times the sheets in 016 were skinny, I know cause I'd drop off prisoners there. Now I can only imagine. Hell it ain't like we dont pay tax's or anything.
And we "Like" seeing our cops here but they send them the fuck away all the time, or, they assign them everywhere but 016. Usually to districts where they don't like seeing them and dont pay shit for anything. WTF? I'm not worried about myself, I take precautions. But we have a lot of older retired people in 016, kids, woman...ect. Fuck! Were the ones who pay Tax's. We want our coppers!

On Mon 022 had 3 early and 3 late cars on third watch.
I was on midnights in 017 a few years ago and we had more Sgts at roll call than PO's at a roll call. That was about the time I decided I'd bid to afternoons the following year. Beat 1711 was rarely ever covered by 1711, we didn't have to bodies to put the car up.
Wouldn't need to send any extra cops downtown if Groot would just pull an old Man Daley and start ordering the rioters and looters shot... fuckers would vanish on their own...

Just wondering here if there are any on our accomplished news reporters (2,5,7,9,32) or maybe even the FOP that have contemplated submitting a FOIA to CPD for:
a. Number of total RAPS (Radio Assignment Pending) from 5/30 til now?
b. Total duration of time of each rap by district
c. Manpower assigned/detail for any amount of time outside their district of assignment.
d. Daily watch assignments from all districts showing the number of officers actually
working on the street in their Districts.
HEY Jon K and FOP, How about electronic billboards updating the citizens of the number of police officers on average that are assigned to protect them and their neighborhood!

Scc, Its also 2nd watch were loosing P.O's. On second watch we send 4 officers and 1 sgt as an incident team, reverse senority unless you volunteer. You go to a post downtown from the hours of 9am - 5pm. What Bullshit!

**To be quite honest with you...who cares about 4th watch, all of you are useless and don't do shit to help out the watches. All of you are under the Cpt. Overtime Thief and well taken care of. Everytime I come into work I see all of you just sitting around waiting for that time clock to run out. This is what happens when "Kids" that dont have time go to 4th watch and now bitch about it??? Your numbers are a little low SCC. Every district, except tier 1 and of course 014, are sending 10 person tact teams, as well as two beat cars and a Sgt. So, not only are districts downing beats, but absolutely no tact coverage in districts either!
Maybe the Cook County Sheriff Police Department Officers could Help the Patrol Unit in each Diatrict?

Also remember during the 12 hour days that the tour of duty was being extended to 13 hrs and 14 hrs. This was being told to us at 0600 when we were expecting to be released. Dead radios everywhere.

And how is that other unions and groups can demand changes that impact pay, working conditions, or benefits of police officers, yet all other changes of other state, county, and city units are protected by a vague clause of the State Constitution?
And how do state & national bargaining units like Federation of Labor allow tampering by the Chicago Teachers Union into operation & benefits of the FOP? Seems like an aggressive offense and tactical private investigation is warranted.

Because VRI costs them OT, pulling from the neighborhoods does not cost the city any OT. The Mayor does not care about the hard working
tax paying city workers who live in the neighborhoods. The Mag Mile, Gold Coast, Oak St. types had a sit down with the Mayor and they told her in no uncertain terms, that if she does not give them the Police protection that they demand; they will end her career.
Off topic a bit but I was watching the news this am and they were discussing Covid hotspots in Chicago. It seems that the areas that the rates are going up are in the northwest and southwest sides. I’m no genius, but aren’t those areas that are seeing the numbers going up loaded with blue collar city workers, specifically police and fire? Haven’t seen the CPD Covid count recently, but I’d say the exposure we’ve been dealing with is directly related to these increases. I hope the Union is paying attention to this closely.
The 12 hour days aren’t only exhausting, physically and mentally, but the exposure to the masses that we have no control over are becoming increasingly hazardous. I hope someone is paying attention to this problem.

In 016 we don't even notice the difference. It's as if the tac teams were none existent anyways. Just a spot for all the connected to hide from the watch.

There’s an email that came out that said Tier 1 districts are exempt from sending cars down...except on first watch. Between sending a wagon and 2 beat cars down every night there are also 3 “mandatory” details in the 006th district. That leaves a whopping 10 cars to handle one of the busiest districts (number 2 in homicides).

I worked VRI from near the beginning. Many of us were earning our keep, contact cards, movers, parkers, anovs and we had to make copies and enter all our activity and the VRI invasion at the district desk was probably irritating the house mice because we were in great numbers, using all the computers. The depts response was to tell us to stop arresting people and do any activity that required you to leave that damn box they created for us. The dept forced us to do very little and the coppers adapted to it. So, keep your sniping to yourself. You should have been happy to have extra police presence to keep the bad actors you now can't control from doing just what they're doing now.
My family came here from Armagh N. Ireland in the 60’s and settled in Beverly. The neighbors are all talking about Sinn Fein sending “ Security Assistants” here at the request of Chicago business owners which is insane. These are trained killers and thugs with no morals and as violent as the rioters have been, they worse. Not a fan.

If you live in the 20th House District, NW side of the city, beware of paramedic Darbro, running against Brad Stevens. She is going door to door claiming the endorsement of FOP7, not true. She also is passing out literature stating she’s endorsed..She is Madigan’s hand picked candidate and will turn the NW side over to him. She will also vote to license the Police. Vote straight Republican and vote for Brad Stevens a friend of the Police.
006 had a shooting tonight and had to pull cars from surrounding districts that were already shorthanded themselves to help clear their extensive backlog. 003, 005, 007, and 022 sent cars to help.
10 Officers 1 Sergeant (Tact relief teams) and 2 incident cars (Watch) if Tact team does not have enough they must be back filled by the watch or other Teams.

Defund the police, is what continues to be stated, the mayor have done just that, we have a rapid exiting on the police department. You have a bunch of incompetence bosses in charge after running all the other bosses off the job. You all created a new unit, where the unit is doing nothing, the lieutenants and bosses are just enjoying their take home cars that they have shorted all the districts of vehicles. The unit have more supervisors then most districts which was not needed, why do you need eight lieutenants in the unit, tru & mobile strike force only had three each. You send some personnel back to the districts with no cars, I guess they can just walk. The manpower is ridiculous, you guys continue to pull manpower from the districts, the districts have jobs to complete and need their manpower. Where are you deploying the manpower for the new unit? Revamp this new unit, fix your new unit. The mayor and superintendent need to take ownership of the major clusterfuck of this department. I am glad, I am one of the ones who is exiting this major clusterfuck in eleven days.
