If you haven't checked your E-learning, you better soon. There's an entire new order on Pursuits and guess what it says?
They are going to fire (or jail) someone very shortly for violating this order. If you say anything about "following" a vehicle, it is now a Pursuit and all liability will fall on your shoulders.
Don't do it boys and girls.

Just so I understand. If someone kidnaps the dwarf right in front of my very eyes and flees in a vehicle, I am not allowed to pursue the vehicle in order to save the mayor? Sweet! Pursuits cost the City money and lives in not so rare occasions, sometimes even a copper’s life. It ain’t worth it anymore.

Foot pursuits should be ended as well. The fleeing offender or pursuing officer could foreseeably slip or fall resulting in personal injury and a bill to the city. Similarly, the fleeing offender or pursuing officer could physically collide with an innocent, uninvolved pedestrian causing emotional duress and/or physical injury. So the bottom line should be no pursuits under any circumstances.
Only a dumb mfer would chase anybody on foot or in a car during this time.
You need bright neon radiant yellow paint to write it on the wall for some of thes 2 year tac/sat/summer mobile wonders.
The order should read no pursuits unless there is some very serious reason to pursue. And Those very serious reasons would likely come up 2 or 3 times a year.
Getting some innocent person killed or injured so some adrenaline addict can get his fix is a bad idea.

Chances of a kidnap victim being injured or killed due to the pursuit is fairly high. Best bet for the safety of the victim and everyone else is no pursuit.
To this total outsider, it’s pretty clear that the aim is to legalize street crime, carjackings, etc. No I’m not joking.
If the criminal ya’all were formerly sent to find and arrest and their parents/cousins etc were put in charge of the city, what would they do differently?

Very well said, I only have about 8 years on, all on the west side, never chased vehicles. Besides the legal liability, I don’t feel like getting killed in a crash. Too many of these guys keep chasing, and everything ends well. But it’s hard to get it through their heads, it only takes on time for it not to end well, and you’re toast.
