Connections Being Made
- Two sitting Cook County circuit judges and three retired judges are partners in a company with attorneys including indicted Ald. Edward M. Burke (14th), records show.
Participants in the company, called Table of Wisdom LLC, say it’s an investment club formed by a group of longtime friends who regularly met for breakfast and decided to pool their money so they’d have something to talk about.
Two of the partners in Table of Wisdom are sitting judges....
Judges Toomin and Shapiro. A couple of retired judges, and handful of attorneys and aldercreature Burke. We're betting that had lots of stuff to talk about the past year or two, seeing as how the "club" was disbanded in early 2020.

I want to assure you SCC, that I, a lowly patrolman in Englewood, was also a member of this club (shows how inclusive the elite are) and EVERYTHING was above board and on the complete up and up. Although, they ALWAYS made me pay for the breakfast. Those chevrons should be coming any day now!

As an attorney I can tell you that attorneys are the absolute worst kind of people. Attorneys produce absolutely nothing, they attach themselves like a leech to people with problems and make money off of their misery. Why our society holds them in such high esteem is beyond me.
I truly believe that the downfall of our beautiful country rests on the malicious intent of JUDGES, LAWYERS, COLLEGE PROFESSORS, and POLITICIANS. They seem to have exalted themselves to be the ones who are of higher moral character, who also seem to be the ones who denounce POLICE OFFICERS and know what's best practice for police officers concerning consent decrees. This done while they promote behind the scenes; dirty deals, corruption, and the selling out of America's greatest principles, LIFE, LIBERTY, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS! WAKE UP AMERICA! Stop voting for people or putting faith in these that are trying to belittle the very force (POLICE OFFICERS) that protect you every day. There is a very aggressive danger that these people are promoting and it is putting hared working Americans and their safety at risk.
Burke used to go to DeGiovani's on Wells to purchase his Italian made suits. He would go after hours when the place was closed and try on very expensive clothing, has the place to himself. He must like the padded shoulders they are famous for because I saw him in the window without the jacket on and he is built exactly like Mr Burns from the Simpsons. Like a turtle without it's shell. Sure investment clubs are legal but it is a huge conflict of interest for sitting judges to be going into business with attorneys that appear in their court rooms on a regular basis. Do you think a judge might give one of their buddies that they eat breakfast with daily and invest with a favorable advantage in court cases, especially civil cases?

Wait a minute, does that mean the CPD court detail is sitting at home recieving full pay? If so, how does one get ass-signed to such a detail- I've never done the EJ supt sip-n-swallow class, so I'm unsure how to navigate this challenge. Do I get a lifeline and phone-a-friend options

I think that 20-something in the background is a “they,” but “they” do dress better than Burke. And by the way, are we sure Burke’s not really dead & being propped up a la “Weekend at Bernie’s” by the Feds. His hands in that photo look corpse-like.

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled in favor of the state employees retired healthcare. When Kristin tried to get ours heard the Illinois Supreme Court refused to hear it without comment. Keep that in mind

Read and weep. In 2014 the Illinois Supreme Court reversed an appellate court ruling and in favor of retired state employees. The court ruled the retirees healthcare was protected by the state constitution
When we tried to appeal to the State Supreme Court in our case which nirrkred and was almost identical to the stare case, they refused to hear it
Would have been hard to rule against a case when you previously ruled in favor of state case
