I’m a public school teacher, not CPS, and I’m begging our union to open the schools. Nope. Not gonna happen. They’re digging in for the long hall. We have “supervised learning” where kids are sitting shoulder to shoulder at desks in gyms and lunchrooms with paid aids wandering around making sure things don’t get too out of hand. Meanwhile, the online learning is a hot mess. This is RIDICULOUS!!!!

Children under the age of 12....11 dead...according to the Hey Jackass.... Children sitting in their car seats. Children playing in their yard. Children who should be in school. They should run an all year school schedule. Teachers and students would have the same time off...but broken up in a different way. Learning isn't lost and fewer children will be caught in gang crossfire. Why...because more of the time off will be in cooler months. There would be 3 weeks off in summer, 2 weeks off in early October, 3 weeks off at Christmas, 2 weeks off at Spring break.
If legislatures in this state had any balls they would lump teachers into the “safety” profession and not allow them strike like cops and firemen. Wouldn’t that be something? A dog with no bite...maybe then they could pay a “fair share” of the pension contribution like everyone else!

Yesterday neither CNN, MSN, or Reuters had even mentioned that the President was nominated for the Nobel Prize, but each had 11 complete bullshit opinion pieces attempting to slam the President for Covid. I've been clicking between them this morning, they have reported NOTHING but Covid bullshit.
My town is open. You can get a bite anywhere. You are required to wear a mask to enter but you can remove it when you sit. We have never had a spike. I have been in the hospital a few times recently, it is pretty much empty. We are not spiking at all.
In the past few weeks, the President ordered 2000 troops home from Iraq, and more some from Afghanistan. The UAE and Israel are signing a peace deal with more countries to follow. Serbia is signing a peace deal with Kosovo (they have been slaughtering each other since the 1300s) He is doing what "Sparklefarts" promised to do but didn't, he is getting the hell out of the Middle East. Who doesn't want that? I served in Iraq (4 tours), Afghanistan (3 tours), Bosnia/Kosovo for several years of rotations, and a "Peacekeeping Tour" in Egypt that started in the early 80s that we are still sending troops to today. Fuck the Middle East. I'm telling you from experience, there is no solution to the fighting.
Also, as of yesterday, 9 NATO countries have paid up their obligations. Never mentioned. I am not a far right-wing guy. I'm more of a Centrist. To be a Centrist, you have to watch several news sources and read between the lines. Not mentioning these positive aspects of this administration is criminal.
Put all the teachers on unpaid furlough and have the kids taught remotely by a single paid actor, reading a script. Watch how fast schools open. Problem solved.

The mask were never intended to stop the virus. The masks are there to stop the droplets that the viruses spread via. The droplets are large enough that they are mostly contained by the masks.

Right now, kids all over the country are being forced to take this invasive test just to be in school or to work, and the testing keeps happening again and again. From now on, the CDC recommends treating Covid-19 like any other disease. Remember too that the number of asymptomatic carriers could be as high as 70%. In addition, the World Health Organization’s admission that asymptomatic transmission is very rare is supported by all available evidence.
There’s another factor too. For months now, the media has discovered that they can get clicks and generate public alarm by headlining increased cases, and governors can continue lockdowns merely by citing case data. Some people sarcastically call this the Casedemic. Truly, every day it makes one want to scream at the TV: cases are not deaths; cases are not hospitalization!
So ending this would indeed be mercifully. Given the level of duplicity and grotesque incompetence that has been revealed by governors over the last 5 months, I wouldn’t expect a quick admission and resolution. Governments don’t behave that way. They don’t look at or act on evidence, which is precisely why they never should have been put in charge of managing a virus outbreak. Still, they can’t keep truth suppressed forever; there will be a reckoning for what they have done at some point.
How does all of this get resolved? Probably not through contrition much less restitution for all the damage they’ve caused. It’s just an intuition for now, but I am guessing that there are many politicians at home and abroad who are already planning their next career moves, out of the public spotlight and the heat of a furious public for whom it is becoming increasingly obvious that these policies created a catastrophe.
Of course there will always be shameless outliers. Governor Cuomo, who presided over some of the highest death rates in the world and is responsible in part for the systematic destruction of the world’s great city, has a new book out celebrating his own heroism.

A HEPA filter absolutely will stop the virus. HEPA = P100 class mask, 99.97% blocks that size. N95 blocks 95% of the challenge particles at that size.
Two huge caveats:
1) the mask must be worn properly. <0.5% get fit tested. Loose or not covering your nostrils makes it useless.
2) you need to cover your eyes too. There's a duct where tears go from your eyes straight into the nasal cavity. Plus there are ACE2 receptors on the surface of the eye. Spray in your eyes can infect you.
So wear goggles + a good mask correctly and you are G2G.
The surgical masks protect others from your droplets, if you happen to be a carrier.
The cheap masks do little, but do stop major droplets from infecting others when the wearer is coughing and hacking.
Bandanas do nothing.
Face shields do nothing unless they are worn with mask & goggles. They do keep spit & spray off your face and out of your eyes.
Neck gaiters do nothing.
So here's the deal: it is MOSTLY an "old people killer" or comorbidity killer, but those old people aren't voting for communists. So do all us old retirees a favor and wear a mask.

Thank you for your service to our country. I'm assuming you are an educated individual, so why are you watching CNN and MSN thinking you're getting anything but propaganda? Maybe the fighting in the ME and elsewhere ends when the see eye a and other intelligence agencies stop creating them?
