- A 75-year-old licensed concealed-carry gun owner shot and killed a 14-year-old Chicago boy when a group of teens appeared at his Lake County home early Tuesday morning, with the group then taking off in a high-speed chase that ended in Chicago when the stolen car they were driving ran out of gas, Lake County authorities said Tuesday.

The persecution Mr Davis received in Lake County is clearly what caused him to believe his life didn’t matter and caused him to act out in this way. It’s unfortunate that the community Mr Mitchell wanted to serve was not only had a member of it directly responsible for his death, but the entire community was indirectly responsible because they clamored for Davis and his co-conspirators release. A life with great value senselessly lost over a petty argument.

The homeowner who killed the knife carrying, would-be car thief in Lake county last year failed to do two things last year. He neglected to shoot and kill some of the other teenage criminals. He also neglected going up to Kenosha Wisconsin last year to give the police department there some much needed training about not wasting ammunition and how to aim properly.

I have had the pleasure of working with State’s Attorney Michael Nerheim on and off duty. He has always been very pro police and backs the blue!
You refer to him as a “Giant Candy Ass” and that he or his office may have been intimidated into dropping the felony charges in this particular case. Are you sure you have all the merits of that case?
I know we are jaded by what we see in the Cook County court system but Cook County is not Lake County, not even close.
I’m sorry second city but your wrong because State Officers as well LEOs in Lake and surrounding jurisdictions on the city, state and federal levels will tell you Lake County States Michael Nerheim is a man of high moral integrity, pro active protector of the police and excellent prosecutor.

He didn’t drop the charges out of any pressure. No more pressure than Trump has over groot to do the right thing by the police. Do you think she cares. So why would a Lake County or any County State’s Attorney care about Chicago politics or liberal influence. Lake County State’s Attorney’s Nerheim charged a more appropriate charge of felony conspiracy. It fit the facts of the case more appropriately.
It’s no one’s fault what criminals may or may not do as hind sight is 20/20.
