- A video posted to social media shows dozens of teenagers fighting, as well as shouting and running from police outside Gurnee Mills Friday night.
Latrisha Cole, who was parked at a nearby McDonald's, witnessed the incident and caught it on video. As of Saturday, the video has been viewed 15,000 times.
She said teens were at the mall trying to go to the movies, but the theater closed at 7 p.m. and they were told to leave the property.
"It was more of personal reasons with teens as to why they were fighting," Cole told WBBM. "Other fights broke out to protect sisters or cousins."
Sure, because that makes perfect sense.

I always hated Gurnee Mills. The only reason to go there was the gun range at Bass Pro. Was always nervous some shithead would figure out what was in my bag when I was coming or going and try to rob me. This was before CCW. That mall won't survive much longer.

Went up there recently to the Bass Pro store. The wife then wanted to see some other stores. We walked in and then left immediately, we will never go back.
I’m former CPD, couldn’t handle it anymore and left a few years ago and am a Lake County resident now. These “teens” are all from North Chicago, Waukegan, and Zion. I live in Lake Bluff on the border of Lake Forest and it’s nice on the south part of town. Cross over the north boundary of Lake Bluff into North Chicago and it’s as bad, if not worse, due to being a small suburban department with not a lot of cops, as Englewood or the West side. I don’t go to Gurnee Mills mall anymore because on any given weekend it looks no different than Ford City or Evergreen Plaza before they tore it down.
The old First Deputy Jimmy Jackson was the North Chicago Police Chief, until he’s resigned.
When y’all wake up at 3pm what’s wrong wiff wanting to go catch a early evening matinee at 7pm (and still show up late, noisy and unruly).

It's funny, how we're not supposed to "culturally-appropriate". Who would WANT to? A culture where, from the age of 2, there are no consequences at home.
