- A 3-year-old girl died from child abuse Friday in Austin on the West Side.
She was found unresponsive in bed about 12:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Lockwood Avenue, Chicago police said. The girl, identified as Lehleni Edwards, was taken to West Suburban Medical center in Oak Park, where she was pronounced dead about 1:21 a.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy found she died of multiple injuries from child abuse and ruled her death a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Don't expect any sort of protests or marches for her though.

Because it's quite obvious if there isn't any political hay to be made, it didn't matter to anyone besides her family.
You could print up a couple hundred of these for cops killed in the Line of Duty, too, and pass them out all over the place. Emphasize the obvious double standards.

May this little innocent princess fly with angels.. I’m saddened for the officers that had to work this, as well as the medical staff attending her. Nothing punches you in the gut worse than handling the death of a child, especially a violent death. I’ve been down this path more than anyone should. I will pray for her soul and all the first responders. Talk to someone, EAP, a priest, pastor, or a wise co-worker/boss.. Don’t let this shit gnaw at you and please don’t think you can drink the pain away. Maybe attend her memorial or put a toy on her grave..

It didn’t even matter to the family. All shitbags. Mom got the news, was initially fine. Waited for the Oscar performance until she got out into the hospital lobby in public. This was pure evil. Plain and simple. The family are poster children for government sterilization.

Art Norman (that morning he mispronounced his own name, calling himself Art Knurleman) Anyway, he is reading this story about a west side toddler who died, swear to God, in a 5 gallon bucket of it's own parents feces and urine. It turns out that the landlord hadn't kept up the plumbing and so, naturally, they obtained a plastic 5 gallon bucket and put it into service. It must have been plenty full to do what they allege it did. As Mr Knurlman read the story you could watch the combination of disgust, shame and disbelief all project from his face, and he seemed to run out of words at the end. Fade to commercial.

I'm just speculating based on the the FBI SUPPLEMENTARY HOMICIDE REPORT data on victim/offender relationships, but it would appear that her life didn't matter to her family because her family would have murdered her if her life mattered to them. I offer this speculation based on the fact that the people most likely to murder young children after MOTHER'S, PUTATIVE FATHER'S, STEP FATHER'S, MOTHER'S BOYFRIEND and STEP SIBLINGS. in the cases where young children are murdered by father's, sorry father's, mother's boyfriend or step siblings, mother's are complicit because they tolerate the abuse.
Since I'm way out here on the left coast, I would be grateful for an update on any offender that is attested in this case. I expect that this murder will be among the one out of eight that is solved in Chicago.
If the three year old died from child abuse, there's a chance her family didn't care about her either. Depends on who brought her to the attention of West Suburban. Child abuse isn't new nor is not treating it. Decades ago an acquaintance getting her graduate social service degree at UC recalled how on multiple occasions a young child was brought to UC Billings with ever more increasingly serious injuries until.... First, bruising; then a broken arm; then a broken leg; then broken ribs; then dead. The end of the kid was almost predictable. Guess social service practice hasn't advanced in half a century.
The insanity of it all is beyond even me.
I like this. How about baseball cards for the offenders too. Pass those out “this guy is a sexual predator“. or “This guy is out on no bail for committing five robberies“, etc.

I worked child abuse cases. The department for some ungodly reason makes a bigger deal about shithead murders...until child abuse cases become murders. I can’t say it was ever a rewarding job because what reward is there in seeing kids fucked up by the very people who should guard them with their life. BLM is a joke. Almost surely the Laquan McDonald’s, George Floyd’s, Jacob Blake’s etc are all products of a culture that reveres violence. None of their asshole families give two shits about their lives until there was a payday. Child abuse deaths are god awful. They break your heart, because every kid deserves a chance at a decent life and the “tragedy” never starts with the police. Bless this poor little one. The only blessing to be found is she’s spared a life of misery inflicted by her miserable family.
