Good police work and forensics allowed police to apprehend the three offenders within two days and guess what?
- What is particularly galling in this case is that Pitts had been on electronic home monitoring while awaiting trial on a charge of unlawful possession of a vehicle. He wore an electronic ankle bracelet until he decided to cut it off in June.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office said the department tried to find Pitts for two shifts after he removed his monitor. They went to his home, checked hospitals and other police departments but couldn't find him.

I don't remember the name of the movie, but in a penitentiary without fences or bars, inmates wore a collar around their necks. The collar was in sync with another unknown inmate and if either one should try to escape by crossing a line around the perimeter, both collars would explode eliminating two assholes.
I'm sure this could be done today with electric monitoring with something like a 100 foot perimeter around the home of the arrestee.

I work as a parole officer and let me be the first to tell you that EM is a Democratic joke that nets the EM company millions. The whole pretrial/probation/parole system is a joke.
