If you are a teacher and your students know your politics, you have failed as an educator. You are supposed to teach the kids how to read, comprehend, research and think....not what to think. There are often two or more sides to any issue.
Anyone think a cop's kid is going to get a fair shake in any of these classes? Or any kid who takes an alternative view to the terrorism inherent in any of these "movements"?

How about the teacher at Mt Greenwood school on the first day who felt she needed to clear the air about BLM and the riots of Chicago and how they are caused by current events caused by systemic racism in America, police violence toward minorities and radical right agendas. I love the principal as do most of us but she pretty much said that she is only one of a few teachers in the school who have such extreme viewpoints but she is protected by the CTU and it is her time in her class during the first 15 minutes of class when they have open time to discuss the day and events of what they are going to do. She also said this teacher is very heavy with CTU and isn’t going anywhere and that she is making waves because the Mt Greenwood administration refuses to teach the John Burge and Laquan McDonald material which she said she is trying to get changed because the CTU agrees that it will soon not be up to the schools but mandatory as they are going to take that discretion away from the principals of the schools.
You know for my dad going up in a European socialist country, there are a lot of similarities here with the brain washing. No wonder CPS kids don’t know shit and can barely learn “fries with that”

Reference the second issue. Parents should go en masse and have a sit down with the principal regarding this teacher’s assignment. The more parents the better.

My sister in-law went to Disney magnet school to pick up her son's final transcript or something this week and when she pulled up she says there was a large BLM banner with a fist symbol hanging outside the school. My nephew graduated just in time but I fear the damage has already been done.

Saw an article yesterday that home schooling is up 400 percent in Texas. That should only be the beginning.
I taught at a CPS high school as a language teacher for two years. I made a conscious decision not to get into political or personal issues because I had seen how that would go off the rails. The result was that I had pretty good classes. If you don’t cater to those instincts in the kids, they don’t miss talking about that stuff because it just brings everyone down. There were the “regulars” who had no impulse control and were harder to work with, but even then, I think it’s a myth you have to make everything about their lives to make them behave. There were definitely other teachers that felt the way I did too.
Checking in on certain former students over the last two years, I saw things go off the rails. Starting as juniors, students began defining themselves as activists because of CPS chaos. They joined the teachers at the strike (as pawns). Pictures of them holding a multi-day sit-in in the school’s hallway (with school permission, during school hours, losing instructional time obviously-but activism requires sacrifices right?) over a stray comment a teacher made to a student which made every student dig up old grievances with that old grump (who was usually right). I saw posts about them going out to protest for Floyd and give instructions on what to wear, how to wash out tear gas and what to do if they got arrested. It was hugely disappointing into see so many of their current teachers applauding them and/or going with them.
Not enough teachers are giving push-back, and administrators don’t tell students no. But it’s a witch hunt and no one wants to be accused by a hysterical child (who will cause a student uprising) who will assuredly be backed by a cowardly administration (including CPS and the Union- neither of which can be counted on to back an innocent teacher in times like these) of violating their personhood. It’s a roiling mess. I’m glad to be out of it now.

Some years ago, I was quite offended when the grade-schoolers were given the "activity" of generating letters to city officials regarding construction expenditures of public funds.
Teacher put up examples of how these letters should be written - "We need a new Oriole Park Library or we will all just dry up and not be able to learn anything ever again. Right now, please." - and addressed.
Some of these people really do have a variety of agendas going. At Sulzer, I once filled out an interlibrary loan form for a hard-to-find book - and the CPL librarian CHARGED ME $1.00. I did stare at her...
...and when later I checked there was no such fee. The woman could have been a plain old city employee/thief, but I figured this to be a privately-levied Tax On White Men, to be spent on pinatas or lithographed cardboard burros - something along those lines.

had this same type of thing happen to my kids a couple years ago. went to the school policies and used their very own definitions of what constitutes "bullying" against them. Showed clearly the teacher violated their own policies they have for suspending students. was able to get the teacher punished. Need to start using their own rules against them.

In 2011, current Steinmetz HS Principal Jaime Jaramillo, Jr., then the school's Assistant Principal, was charged in 2011 for choking and dragging a female student. CPS settled with the student for $10K and the charges went away.

There are court documents and video that need to be re-examined into in this matter again as this incident went away fast, including (according to CPS records) no discipline meted out to Jaramillo and others involved in the incident. (Danny Solis was said to be involved here)

More specifics are: A CPS Investigative Memorandum was created on March 14, 2011 for this event/incident with File #5134 and sent to James Ciesil from Michael Mahone with: Subject: Jaime Jaramillo, Type of Incident: Physical Abuse, School: Steinmetz High School, Region: 1, Area: 26.
Also, in 2011, two teachers at Steinmetz were also involved incidents against women:
- PE teacher Eric Stummer spit in a female students' face and called her the c-word, no discipline.
- Math Teacher James Marlin Saunders was arrested for domestic battery in Aurora, see attached.
Saunders also is living in Aurora and violating the CPS Residency Policy as he was hired as a Chicago resident and then moved to Aurora. That's seen as circumventing the policy. Saunders needed to be hired before 11-20-1996 with the old CPS Residency Policy and could live anywhere.. Since, he wasn't, he needed to be initially hired as a non-Chicago resident and get a residency waiver. He wasn't and doesn't have a waiver.
Saunders also was teaching Computer Science last year and doesn't have the qualifications to teach it. He's by license a Math teacher with a Social Studies teaching endorsement, neither qualify him to teach Computer Science.

2. Ernest Mitropoulos, PE Teacher, returned to his position for this school year after being suspended since June, 2018.
3. Pamela Oliver, PE Teacher (SPED Teacher at the time of her incident)....reinstated at March 2020 CPS board mtg
4. Vanessa Longoria, Special Education Classroom Asst (SECA). Current whereabouts unknown. Nessa was trading texts and emails with students while on an overnight field trip.
5. Luis Jaime Lopez*, Security Guard, no longer CPS employee.....let go by CPS in July, 2020 for sex talk with female students.
6. Kirsten Gassman**, World Language Teacher, no longer CPS employee and let go In June, 2020 (CPD mugshot attached). Read tribune story below as she was charged with battery for breaking her gf's (ex-CPS student) jaw and stabbing her in the leg.
7. Jazmine M. Rivera, Assistant Clerk. Current whereabouts unknown. Jaz got physical with students in the counselor's office.

I am a retired teacher. I remember taking a class that specifically taught that educators were NEVER to imply, instruct or support your religious or political beliefs to students. Your were never to "interpret" the text and present it with your own beliefs. If we have taken prayer out of school and no longer can say the pledge of Allegiance whose beliefs are being pushed out?? Freedom of speech has been bent into a form of a poitical act. Either you agree with the lefts agenda or you are racist. So glad I got out when I did because I would not be able to stomach these young idiots in the teachers lounge. And when one of these schools that do not want police in them call 911 because the social worker is in over their head laugh at their stupidity.
I am a 54-year-old guy in my last year of college. In my classes, politics are never mentioned. Ever. The classes stick to science and the actual work to be performed by the student. Where is this little bit of educational heaven? Agriculture. The Professors are usually farmer's kids. They are smart and sensible. No nonsense.
All the useless fucks that will never produce anything of value stick to the "Community Organizer" programs.

First of all my kids went to Mt Greenwood school and I love the principal. That being said there are a couple of $hit-bird teachers there that she cant get rid of cause of the union. The reason the $hit-birds like Mt Greenwood is that the kids are mostly well behaved and they can cruise on auto pilot in a safe school. (Kind of like the the 1's on the job who go to 018/001/022/016 to get away from their fellow 1's) The principal is a former marine and is not a member of the CTU. She doesn't have to allow the Burge lesson plan in the school and the CTU cant make her. I cant speak for other schools but Mt Greenwood is Pro Police and Pro Fire.
There are a number of CPD officers who in the past taught as CPS subs. At old Calumet High school before it was converted to a charter school I knew several African American officers who did this. They did not inform their students that they were sworn CPD officers and really did not declare it to other teachers in the school. I wonder if CPS would even now allow a sworn officer to be a sub? The assignment given at Steinmetz raises some questions about administrative supervision over teachers and not just the politics of the teachers. I would bet no assistant principal or the principal Jaime G. Jaramillo Jr. has even discussed this on line assignment with the teacher who sent it out.

It’s not just her!!! This year they have 4 “new” teachers who were previous CPS teachers who might as well just have stamped on their head “antifa”. CTU is getting a bigger footprint in that school and they are doing it on purpose as they are extremely anti mt Greenwood Neighborhood and the believe this neighborhood is a racist cult. Leave us alone. And it is true that CTU is pushing for ALL schools to teach the police torture crap across the board and don’t believe that some “white” schools should omit it. O’Shea surprisingly has been fighting to keep changes from happening to this school but there isn’t much you can do with Lightfoot and the current CTU.
Resurrection has a female teacher who strongly feels guilt over her white privilege: not all her students are on board with that. Oh and she lives in Park Ridge.
Time to re-engage with the local Catholic / Hebrew Schools. The indoctrination there is pre-vetted, and has built civilizations over thousands of years. Public schools have become a hive of fundamentalist thought, skirting the edges of teaching a 'religion' of sorts. Do your kids a favor, send them where they will be challenged on how to think for themselves, vs. what to think.
The Steinmetz teacher giving out the assignment is Michael Edwards, Computer Science. Edwards has been a teacher there for at least 26 years and is Black.
So glad my kids go to Catholic schools. No mention of politics and no talk about current events. Teachers just get down to work, do alot of old school teaching, but hey, it works. Kids should not be talking about politics at such a young age.

I wanted to reach out and let you all know that I am asking all of you for your guidance and energy for the curriculum changes outlined below. I have directed Edwina, and asked Michelle, to work with your teams to ensure that our curriculum enhances non-white voices through purposeful digital and non-digital text selection. Our curriculum should set the tone of diversity, multiple perspectives, Black voices, Latinx voices, Asian voices, Indigenous voices, LGBTQ+ voices, Womyn's voices, and non-western voices and therefore, should have a balance of perspectives where students read no more than 20% of white voices. It is also imperative that we read and discuss Black, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Womyn, and LGBTQ+ protest literature as well as the circumstance and context of their arguments within our curriculum for all of our students to examine.
I believe our efforts to purposefully reflect, research, and implement this shift will enrich our students’ literary experience. I am asking that we focus on the first unit as an opportunity to set the tone of diversity. It is an amazing opportunity to take a step forward and
include the excluded histories and stories of people who have been historically silenced.
Additionally, when topics such as slavery are discussed, please be aware and sensitive to the fact that people enslaved other people. We should respectfully separate a person’s identity from their circumstance and refer to people who were subjected to this abhorrent time of history properly as “enslaved people.”
I appreciate your time, energy, and effort as you continue to work towards making this a reality.
I know that many, if not all, of you have questions regarding the start of next school year. I will reach out again in terms of remote learning and blended learning when the district plans become finalized. Residency would save you in taxes and private school costs. So would another job in another state. You need to weigh the cost of living be the salary offered. 15-20 k less would more then be made in cost of living plus there the mental side of the argument. How much is your mental heath worth to you AND your family. That plan B just myth be a life saver. Stress will take years off your lives. Are the Bosses and communities that hate you really worth it?

If we've learned anything from this E-learning during Covid, it's how easily these teachers can be replaced. You can find any subject you want to learn about on YouTube for free, and if they want to have kids learn the same standardized lessons, they can be taught by one person, to millions of kids online. If parents want to enroll their kids in private schools, or charter schools that's fine, but the parents pay for that hands on, physical education in a brick and mortar school. A few of my nieces and nephews attend NY public schools, and they're dumb as shit on just about every subject, yet they are honor roll kids who bring home A's & B's on their report cards.
I have grandkids that go to public school in DuPage County. They are in class for 4 hours and then have on-line for 1 hour a day. The first graders are learning "The Pledge of Allegiance" in class and at home!!!

Saw the video of the live Catholic mass in New York last week where the priest lectured the congregation about their white privilege. He basically said they were horrible people. Pension and residency was what Jcat campaigned on as his top two issues. And what has he done about it? Nothing but crickets. Residency has been lifted or removed by the courts all over America. Why can’t we fight for getting rid if it like everyone else? Who’s going to take this job now? Especially being forced to live here.
File a lawsuit for residency, if it takes 10 years its winnable.
In southwest suburban high school, the kids have to watch BLM videos and "study" LGBTQ history. SO not much different than city schools. The left has infiltrated everywhere. Including Catholic schools. Turns out Joe McCarthy was prescient.
Catholic schools aren’t free of it. Take it from me bc I teach at one now outside the city- HS only. There was a candle lit for for George Floyd and Jacob Blake and every day in the morning prayers written in the announcements someone requests something said about racism, hate, and letting POCs heal in peace (no one suggests not shooting eachother-anyway). Fact is that private schools aren’t cheap and you get a mix of conservatives and liberals so definitely not everyone is on board but it’s the admin that signs off on it. I had some kids come to me after the “examine your white privilege” meditation last year (they stared at an oppression wheel and were told to write down some deep thoughts- they could share if they wanted but there was dead silence) and tell me they didn’t like it. Our school will never (god I hope not) post a BLM fist because it would alienate too many conservative parents but we have some incredibly woke faculty and staff, yes.
It is official. Starting October 1st I am beginning a homeschooling. Thanks for helping me to make this decision, have thought about it for some time. Will keep you guys updated.

Thank you. I am thinking about recording my lessons and posting on You Tube. Just to encourage other parents. Of course those who can. I am seriously done with this indoctrination and waste of billions of dollars at CPS. I have to be at home with kids during school hours anyway.
Most of us, I believe, can easily with some help give our children better education than CPS. At least they won't be bullied for having and expressing their opinions.
It is a challenge, I admit. I am not without doubts. But I intend to bring to this world two independent individuals. Who know right and wrong.

Stephen Ngo is now Division Head of English and Social Studies, at Proviso West.

Stephen Ngo resigned after the 2017-18 school year as Steinmetz principal and left making $152K with two years left on his contract to take a History position at Proviso West HS and two division head positions. The new positions pay him a little over 1/2 his principal salary at Steinmetz.
Now, with Ngo gone there's been a rise in truancy, out of school suspensions, and absenteeism rates. And, dropping have been the freshmen path to graduation, ACT scores, and 4 and 5 year grad rates (high 80's into the mid 60's) from the end of 2018 until the end of 2019.
Could Ngo have been cooking the attendance and grade books, including marking students as present or excused absences when they were suspended or absent, allowing no or 1/4 of students in the bldg the last week of school while all employees collected their pay to do nothing? Or, was it that Steinmetz enrollment dropped 850 students under his time?
In Ngo's last speech as principal, he gave out three pieces of advice to seniors. One of them was "don't pooh where you work or go to school." Most likely, a reference to his staff and teachers filing complaints about him and what was going on at Steinmetz.

Sunday Evening, I get an email blast from Taft’s principal. He talks about registering to vote and goes on to virtue signal to the students that he votes Democrat (no surprise) and that his proudest moment was voting for Barack Hussain Obama in 2008! I suppose the teachers have to go into full indoctrination mode from here on out. I’m waiting for him to start telling illegals to vote too. He first voted in 1980 and the only time he was proud was 28 years later?? He sounds like Michelle stating it’s the first time she’s ever been proud of her country!
