WGN = Slantifa

WGN is taking a cue from the hacks over at Channel 7 lately, especially with this tripe:
  • Nine months have passed since a Des Plaines police officer chased a bank robbery suspect into the city and accidentally shot a teenager. WGN Investigates exclusively obtained the video of the shooting and spoke to the young man who survived.

    But many questions still remain.

Des Plaines won’t say why the officer pursued a suspect into the city, in possible violation of department policy, or why he carried his personal gun – a military-style assault rifle.
Um, it's called "hot pursuit." Most jurisdictions have rules about this (more later) but it's a nationally recognized duty that Officers don't terminate chases because someone flees the jurisdiction. There is no "gool" or safety zone when fleeing a crime. Texas Rangers and US Marshalls pursued offenders all over the country at times.

As for "a personal gun," most jurisdictions recognize that patrol rifles are not something easily exchangeable among officers due to stock length, scope zeros, trigger pulls, biology, etc. And let's not be naive, Department rifles aren't treated as well as a personal rifle. Departments therefore allow officers to buy certain rifles within narrowly defined specs and carry them on patrol. A very high percentage of CPD carries their own rifles, but WGN doesn't even bother to research that, as if owning a patrol rifle is something bad.

Oh, and "assault" is a verb, not an adjective. There is no such thing as an "assault rifle" as WGN calls it.
  • Lucia Morales is the mother of wounded Rylan Wilder, who was 15-years-old at the time. “I guess I’m wondering what a Des Plaines officer is doing in the city of Chicago?” she said.
That would be the "hot pursuit" rule.
  • WGN Investigates obtained a copy of Des Plaines’ vehicle pursuit policy. It states officers should not pursue outside the suburb if “two units from the other [law enforcement] agency are actively involved” unless “directed to do so by a supervisor.” Records show there was at least 20 other law enforcement units in pursuit that day, raising questions as to why Des Plaines continued and who was behind that decision.

“We’re going to find out whether was he was authorized by the CPD, by the Chicago Police Department, to be in the city of Chicago,” Tim Cavanagh, an attorney for the Wilder family, said.
"Authorized by the CPD"? Who the fuck is this asshole? Oh, another lawyer looking for that "deep pocket" and a political infrastructure unwilling to fight a lawsuit.

CPD doesn't "authorize" anyone to pursue into the city. We don't even have radios that would permit suburban agencies to monitor CPD zones or zones to monitor suburban frequencies. Suburban dispatchers can come over on certain zones that border the city, but that's an OEMC function.

As for the Des Plaines pursuit policy, it says ""should not," not "shall not," not "won't," not "is forbidden." These are important legal terms. You have to read all the way to the last line of the article to find this admission by the "reporters:"
  • Records we obtained show Des Plaines determined its pursuit of the suspect “appears to be in compliance with our policy.”
Well well well. And if that is so, it's only prudent for the Des Plaines PD to refuse comment on pending litigation, including the apology. Apologies are admissions of error or judgement and that means legal liability.

Funnily enough, the article doesn't mention that the family of the young man shot by accident is suing the surviving criminal for his getting shot. Is it any wonder Des Plaines is holding off on everything?

And wonder of wonders, the article completely fails to mention that a CPD officer was shot in the fucking head during this pursuit by the dead guy. Now why would they not mention that?

Is it still Illinois law that your police "district" is the town you work for and any contiguous towns? Because if that's still the law, IIRC O'Hare Airport is partially bounded by Des Plaines, and O'Hare is in the city of Chicago, therefore the officer was within his duties under Illinois law in continuing that pursuit.

When they show up, leave.

If there's a mob or other troublemakers up to no good, leave. Let them do their videos and interviews without the security blanket of nearby police. Just pick up and respond to calls elsewhere.

I've said it before and ill say it again, It doesn't take brains or an education to work at WGN! Look at the idiots they hire. There was NO investigation done, that involves work and actually doing "INVESIGATIVE" analysis. They just took a story that they knew involved a cop shooting at a suspect, innocent bystander gets shot and that's it....gee even a CPS student can figure that one out. Gee, where is the large demonstration on white lives matter??? Must be getting boring at WGN lately to come up with a half ass story.

Watching the video I thought the officers tactics were solid, unfortunately this young man was wounded in the exchange of gunfire. A police officer came within millimeters of losing his life. The parents have to place the blame where it belongs, with the dead offender. The desplaines police officer's actions were heroic and he probably saved lives.

The family of that kid shot in the arm, should be THANKING the police for saving their son's life.

That family should go to the Des Plaines Police Dept and thank that officer, not have Des Plaines PD come to them and apologize.

Does the media and those families forget that an armed man who robbed a bank, led police on a chase for 11 miles, shot a police officer in the head, and then entered a music shop full of teenagers and others still carrying his gun, do they really think that would have ended peacefully?? Do they think the robber would have surrendered without shooting someone else? Taking hostages?

It's mind boggling what the media comes up with.

That

Hey, WGN how's it feel to know that you're just another garden variety tripe manufacturing puppet of the left. One day when a leftist is president, and the economy inevitably sucks, you will be on the brink of bankruptcy, and no one will care.

WGN is looking for significance by jumping in the Anti-Police bandwagon, must be that time of year for seasonal ratings. They do an 8 min “investigation” and call that getting involved?
Editors are telling these stay-at-home reporters to dig up old stories while Cook County continues to release violent armed assailants every single day.

WGN’s original story was no different in November last year. This is one liner within a small paragraph;
“ A 17-year Chicago police veteran was shot in the head. Willis was fatally shot. And 15-year-old Rylan Wilder, an intern who was inside the store at the time, was wounded in the crossfire.”

Should DPD been more forthcoming with the family, especially since an innocent teen was injured...yes, but we don’t know exactly what transpired or the communication, mostly because that’s the stuff that doesn’t make to last the media editors.

The mothers only question is What is Des Plaines police doing in Chicago. Well, that was answered.
I wonder if mom had questions about the lifestyle choices made by the violent armed offenders Cook County States Attorney that allows to roam freely in stolen cars, robbing banks, shooting police and terrorizing small businesses just to avoid an inconvenience of arrest.

The family attorney took steps to sue the criminal, probably the music center, the bank, the gun, the getaway car, and of course DPD and the city of Chicago.
I hope the officers involved have done the same.

As for the point of the post, these people are morons. If their relative was in the bank and got shot, they'd be all up in arms if the cops DIDN'T pursue the suspect. Breaking the law has (should have) consequences. ONE of those consequences is, it makes our society less safe, including all the practicalities involved with the authorities having to apprehend the offenders. We don't LIKE this, as a society, but it's part of the necessary evil of dealing with crime. If people don't want cops doing what's necessary to apprehend criminals, tell that to the CRIMINALS.

Looking at the state of the Democrat Party... if they're still Democrats after all that has come out, they're not capable of being your friends anymore. They are compelled by an entirely different tune, and the differences go to the very foundations of decision making and its basis in ethics and morality.

Even now, hardline leftists are trying to defend 'Cuties' as some sort of assertion of free speech, on one hand, or pretending that it is a critique on the other hand. If their head was in the right place, they wouldn't even need to draft up an excuse and then contort reason and justice to support it -- they would just know, intuitively, that the movie is wrong.

SO ABC is trying to scare everybody out of the school into e-learning....... I drove by a Catholic school on the Northside. Children were out & playing (YES LARRY W/ masks) and I thought these are going to be our future leaders. They will know how to talk & relate to each other, my kid went to a Christian private school & has excelled. This isn't a commercial for private school but it is concerning. Have the parents thanked the police officers yet??? Let’s just say bad guy runs into this crowded music store with all these kids in it, the cops stop and hold off because they don’t want to risk a shootout inside of the store. Now the bad guy has a store full of kids who are now his hostages. The guy has already robbed a bank and shot a cop in the head and shot at other cops in the process. Now what?? Lets say this guy realizes his fate of life behind bars and decides to start taking a couple of kids with him and starts shooting kids or uses one as a human shield to try to further escape and gets a kid killed. Instead mom focuses on her son and waves him around like a winning lotto ticket and says everything she is told to say on camera by her lawyer. Kids could have been killed, he was 100 percent authorized to be in the city of Chicago and to have his own rifle. I read the lawsuit and most of the counts are gonna be punted right out of court. The kid was a casualty of the fast paced situation that the officer was acting on good faith to save lives of having this guy take hostages. They might as well put the motion for summary judgement in now. Any judge will see that the necessity to apprehend the offender outweighed the risk of what happened. There was zero malicious intent to shoot her son and that’s what you need for your lawsuit. Gross negligence which didn’t happen here and malicious conduct which clearly didn’t happen because he didn’t intentionally shoot the kid.

Tasers are too much liability. There are too many circumstances when you would need a Taser but Taser warns you not to use them(mental, drug use, drunk, unknown medical/psych, elevated, with knife, running away, etc). Basically the only time they are used in a Taser approved way are when a subject is sober and compliant. If you zap someone and that fuck dies you are gonna get a pee pee slap. You're better off beating the fuck out of someone, just stop when they are handcuffed and you're fine.

The Des Plaines officer is fortunate to have a Chief with two testicles, namely Bill Kushner. I am uncertain that, as big in comparison to Des Plaines Chicago is, you could find 5 bosses who would be willing to stand up for their officers. Stay strong Office, stay strong Sarge(the Chief will know who this is and that Sarge is a term of respect and admiration).

WGN is a turd. I watched Larry Potash interview Terry Sullivan about Gacy. Larry started to inquire how Gacy, a fat sloppy scumbag, could dig so many holes on his knees and drag all those bodies around by himself. You could see how uncomfortable this made Terry, who almost had to explain how he let accomplices go Scott free, but then Larry backed down. Fade to commercial. No guts, no glory.

You know, back at that time I thought the same thing about Gacy not doing all that damage by himself, but time went on and I became too busy to really follow that story. Chuck Gaudy on abc 7 has revisited that story a few times and I never heard him mention any gouls helping the monster Gacy, perform his atrocities? More than once recently, l heard reports speculating that other serial killers were plying their trades around here. Could they have been Gacy’s students? Curious.....

Force Feeding
SCC, it's worse than you think. Most people think it's just
the infiltration of BLM into sports, kneeling, arm-in-arm
bullshit. On Sept. 9th, readers of the online WSJ were
exposed to a new column, Notes On The News, written by
one Tyler Blint-Welsh. Mr. B-W is a "woke" Black millen.
type with an equally menacing sketch-type photo likeness.
Oh yeah, there was some financial news in there, but the
slant was towards 'Black News', which subscribers aren't
exactly paying for. I never signed up for this goof and asked
WSJ to remove the feed, which they did. This was a very
poor way to push a new agenda, one most readers are not
at all receptive to. (His second column featured a new Black
rapper). Sorry, thanks, but no thanks.

Here's CNN on Tyler Blint-Welsh:
CNN June 2, 2020
WSJ reporter Tyler Blint-Welsh Tweeted Sunday evening that
NYPD officers "hit me in the face multiple times with riot
shields and pushed me to the ground. I was backing away as
request (sic), with my hands up. My NYPD-issued press
badge was clearly visible. I'm just sitting here crying.
This sucks."

Just to set the record straight, as I recall the story, Gacy had two of his young employees dig "trenches in the crawl to alleviate drainage issues.

Remember, according to the record, Gacy was only 30 when his killing spree began and 36 when he was caught. Even though Gacy was overweight, I imagine that a man of his age could drag a body weighing 150 lbs at most (teens and early 20s) to a floor trap and push the body onto the crawl. At that point he just needed drag the body to a spot in the trench and cover it. What I can't imagine is that Gacy would let one or more very young men know that he was committing murder on a wholesale scale. Gacy may have been crazy but I doubt he was (that) stupid.

If I remember correctly also, didn’t the offender car jack a female and put the gun to her head and take her vehicle.

I clicked report an error for this report and sent them the following. I'll let you know if I get a response.

I suggest scrapping this entire "report". In my experience (retired Police Ofc) every officer uses his personal firearm. Can't think of a single dept that issues sidearms and most allow personal shotguns/rifles if the specs are met. As for the pursuit, why would the lead unit from the jurisdiction where the multiple armed felonies occurred suddenly drop out? It is hot pursuit. Add in the tone that the multiple armed felony offender bears no responsibility seemingly from your "report" leaves me wondering when WGN turned anti police. Scrap all this garbage "reporting".

If you are ever the victim of a crime where the offender needs to be immediately apprehended after he has committed a violent forcible felony crime against you or your family and I am in pursuit of him....i will gladly stop at the border of the city limits and terminate my pursuit. I don't get how some jag off reporters or civilians love to tell us how to do our jobs. I certainly don't go around telling these idiot reporters and baristas how to do their jobs.

Des Plaines coppers are the real deal. Glad Kushner has a back bone and refused to tweet all the evidence an hour after the officer involved shooting occurred. You know, like a certain department does?

Reading the Sun-Times back then, I noticed a lot of red flags, even for the 1970s, including:

Runaway kids, hitchhiking kids
and bar pickups (Nobody thought Stranger Danger?),
Gacy's wife and kid locked up in a room often (They never questioned?)
Lime smell in the house (Nobody smelled it?),
Sidewalks dugged up often (Neighbors didn't notice?),
Apply for job at Gacy's house (Stranger Danger?),
Retrieve check at Gacy's house (Nobody said bring it next time or mail it?, )

Is it still Illinois law that your police "district" is the town you work for and any contiguous towns? Because if that's still the law, IIRC O'Hare Airport is partially bounded by Des Plaines, and O'Hare is in the city of Chicago, therefore the officer was within his duties under Illinois law in continuing that pursuit.

rb

That was changed years ago. If on duty you can anywhere in the state.

"The young men were telling the police what they knew about bringing young men to Gacy's house for parties and about digging holes under his house when the mother of one of them swept into the Des Plaines police station and demanded an end to the questioning. The mother, True reported, identified herself as the daughter of Vito Marzullo, a powerful Chicago alderman. The attorney she brought with her was Ed Hanrahan, former state's attorney of Cook County. The two boys went home. They were never charged."

Disney owns Channel 7 news and they are basically a propaganda outlet for the Democrats. Disney is such a hypocrite when it comes to social justice. Disney is more than happy to call attention to human-rights abuses in the United States. Since George Floyd died in police custody earlier this year, the corporation and its subsidiaries, including ABC and ESPN, have issued statements in support of Black Lives Matter. Disney has reaffirmed its commitment to the ideology and practices of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Nor is Disney the only film studio to ignore repression in the People’s Republic of China while embracing the cause of social justice at home. They all do it.

The sectors of the economy most wedded to the view that American society is systemically racist — entertainment, sports, media, tech — are the least concerned with the real and concrete injustices of the antidemocratic and hostile Chinese regime. This is the woke dialectic: dissent in America, acquiescence to China.

Vote Democrat and China will rule this country. Fake News - 24/7
